Much Colder Wednesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Much Colder Wednesday

Postby Colliemom » Wed Nov 11, 2020 8:23 am

Morning everyone. After almost a week of warm and sometimes record breaking temps, back to reality. It’s very windy too. We had a wind gust clocked at 48 mph at one point. Am kind of hoping maybe it will help blow the leaves that have piled up again at the subdivision entrance outta there. I had it all cleaned up at one point. But if not, will just crank up the blower and out they go.

Carpet got cleaned yesterday, so dogs and I got out of here so they could dry. Went to a store about 60 miles from here that has nice meats, a meat sale and some cuts I can’t always find. Came home with a pile of meat, so that will be this mornings project, cutting it into individual serving size and wrapping it up for the freezer. Stopped at one of our statute parks and let the dogs sniff around for awhile on the way home. All the outside fall chores are done here, so ready for winter.

Beth, congratulations on the new job. Sounds like it’s a perfect fit for you. Barbie, that’s interesting on the paint. I use samples on things and never have a problem. Maybe it’s just exterior use, although I’ve used it outside too. But then I make sure it’s exterior. I’ve painted doors, and other stuff with samples. Wonder if he knows what he’s talking about. Oil base may be better in your situation. You gals getting trip memories in order remind me I have to get this past summers pictures developed and into a scrapbook. After the weather turns to winter.

This isn’t getting to the shower or the meat prep, so time to get moving. Have a nice dsy all.

Good morning Sue, Shirl and everyone that checks in!

Sue, it sounds like you're having blustery weather in your neck of the woods. After yesterday's shopping spree, you'll have lots of meats in the freezer for future meals.

Shirl, please be careful. we don't want you back in the hospital again. I just checked the weather in md and you're going to be getting some much cooler weather soon, especially the night time temperatures.

beth, I'm so happy for you and your new job. That's right up your alley!

Carol, safe travels to you & bill to your winter stay in mexico.

Happy Veteran's Day! The Veteran's Day parade was cancelled for this morning because of the rain from eta. we'll be hit harder later tonight and tomorrow.

Good Morning, Sue, sounds like u are ready for a cold winter. Don’t forget to post pictures of your yard covered in that beautiful white stuff! I love those pictures.
Sheila, please find your books! I would go crazy if I didn’t have a book to read.
Beth, lucky you! I love Death Valley. Have camped there and hiked all over the place. Is Marta still alive and performing at DV junction? If I had to name a favorite site, it would be Artists Palate. Do they still have “49er Days.? The musical events in the campground are better than the show on the stage! As more memories pop into my mind, I will let u know.
Well, now San Diego is in the purple tier so the HOA is closing the exercise room. Damn and double damn.

Morning all. Got most of my paperwork this morning. Sent a picture of my passport so that'll be taken care of in advance. Lyn, I loved Artists Palate when there previously also. I'll be checking out the places you tell me as I can.

Sheila, I hate when I can't find something. It's not like our RV's are so gigantic. But I misplace things often. I hope those books appear soon. Sue, it's nice to be prepared for winter, whatever comes. I'm already thinking about how I'll prepare for next summer lol My quilted window coverings help a lot, winter and summer but I think I'll be putting electric reflectix between it and the windows for summer. Shirl, take it as slow as necessary to get where you need to. It's not a race. Irmi, sorry about the parade.

Good afternoon ladies. It is a very wet Wednesday here. It started sometime in the night and it’s been a steady rain pretty much ever since. Seeing that the leaves were falling fast yesterday I will have a wet mess to contend with. Sue, please keep the snow away for awhile longer! My back is screaming so I have to take it slower than I used to. Don’t know what I did this time but started having problems before the leaf raking started. I liked it better when we had a truck and could just pile the leaves in it instead of dealing with bags. Less bending! Thank goodness for my chiropractor and the physical therapy exercises I do. But at least I woke up this morning and could get out of bed! That’s always a plus! :D Beth, exciting news about your new position. They’ll be lucky to have you on their team. It’ll be exciting to hear how it all goes and the fun places for you to visit. Irmi, how’s progress on your casita? Shirl, hoping for better days for you. One day at a time is all we can do. Tina, wishing you good luck at the show. Sheila, hope you find your books. It always amazes me how I can lose things in Lola! Maybe I need to quit reorganizing and just leave things in one place. I always seem to think I have a better place for something! Guess that’s how I lost a dog harness and didn’t find it until the following summer! Today I will remember our veterans and thank each and every one of them. And special thoughts to my dad and husband for their service. I hear the buzzer on the washer so need to run upstairs and throw that load in the dryer and get another load started. Hope you all have a great day and stay safe.

Irma, hope you aren't where Eta is headed. It's almost the middle of November and we are still having hurricanes. Now there is something else they are watching. I was in the old house putting a shelf together and had to come in the house and sit in front of a fan to cool off.

Sheila, I am always losing things too. The worst part is most of the time it's something I had 5 minutes ago. I was looking all over for a mop I was using in the old house. I finally found it on the carport. I had probably passed it three times.

Sue, I enjoy your pretty pictures of the snow but please keep it up there. I have seen pictures of my brother's yard where the snow was 4 foot deep. If the snow blower breaks they have to have friends bring them parts to fix it. Not something I ever want to experience. The two weeks I spent in New Jersey with a foot of snow was enough. My son had just had surgery and his neighbors were kind enough to shovel the driveway for him.

I never can get myself organized. I forgot to bring Sugar's pill bottle with me yesterday to get her medicine refilled. I made an appointment to get my hair cut tomorrow so I can pick it up tomorrow if I don't forget. I don't really want to go get my hair cut but I have been whacking on it all year and it's a mess.

I posted a picture of my son on Facebook. I still can't bring myself to hang his picture. It breaks my heart every time I look at it. I am going to look and see if I can find a picture of my dad and brother in their uniforms. Harold was in the Merchant Marines during WWII. As soon as the war was over and he came home he was drafted into the Army.

martha, yes, eta will be moving across central FL tonight & tomorrow. right now I wished we had our casita, as it will be anchored to the ground. All we have is a concrete pad with a tarp on top because of all the rain we've been having. So we may be staying up until the wee hours of the morning riding this out. we've ridden out worst storms in the motorhome, so I'm not overly concerned.

I've lost lots of things in here because I put them in a safe place. This year when we left md, we took some things out of our house we wanted for the casita and put them in a very safe place. It took us awhile to find everything. we're having a shelf built for the casita that will go on three walls for plates we've collected. we didn't bring those with us and if/when my sister dies, will retrieve them then.

Sheila, I always enjoy reading your late posts, since you are three hours behind us! Cheryl, I always look forward to your adventures. Peggy, I always remember your smile. You are a real pick me upper. Lyn & Shirl, keep posting. I read all your posts but like the things I lose, I can't remember everything you say.

we just learned the tarp on our property is to keep the rain off the ground and weather permitting, the concrete will be poured Saturday. Yay!

the problem with those books is that some of them are part of a series... I too hope that I find them... I can't imagine that I accidentally threw them away but worse things have been known to happen... If it wasn't for that valve needing to be replaced and I need to sometime move this trailer I'd have things put in there place and possibly have found them... I messaged the company so far the valve hasn't been found... hopefully soon...
Martha I saw the picture of your son very nice looking
so many of us have members of our family who served or are serving... how grateful I am to each and everyone of them...
had all sorts of plans to do today... and did nothing other than run into town and get a baked potato was so good...
so tomorrow I will have to do more than I have this week... need to go and get my post office box set up... going to run into Blythe and get a rotisserie chicken at least perhaps more... will be back to games on Friday and that is the day we have a meal together... so we are doing Hawaiian Haystacks just a few things needed hopefully...
through the quarantine from being with the kids didn't get the virus so happy for that...
because it was a did nothing day itty bitty news isn't even helping
hope any of you in the path of that hurricane will be ok...
it's been really chilly in my neck of the woods but looks like it will be getting warmer next week

Sheila, please be careful going to games and doing meals together. This isn't the time to loosen up your vigilance. Just my feelings. My park had it's first covid case in the past week and today we were informed there are two more. I don't feel comfortable doing any group activities. My park here is very strict about activities and masks, etc. But some people don't follow the guidelines. Hopefully I'll be able to be comfortable at my new job. Outside of work I'll probably still stay a hermit.

It seems like just yesterday I was opening the casita. Tomorrow I'll move the fridge stuff back to the rv and shut off and clean the casita fridge. I put all my outside casita stuff away today. And surprise surprise, I spent time weeding. I'll do a bit more tomorrow and probably leave it at that
