That is a thing here in the midwest. The sun is out the temperature are heading to the high 60's and the leaves are all crunching under our feet or flowing inside to our floors on the legs of the dogs. Crunchies are everywhere.
One of my neighbors called yesterday. She wanted to touch base to sanity. She doesn't own a dog. We went for a walk in the afternoon and she borrowed Lark for her therapy dog.
The older girls, Lark and Audrey, continue to do well in their classes, I just need to find someone to give us a private lesson so that I can learn all the finer points of what happens in the obedience rings during judges. I know that I can watch videos and read the regulations. I also watch some of the upper classes at the last trial we attended in February but individual feed back on us as a team would be the best preparation.
Seems I am successfully twiddling away my days. I am not complaining. I seem to accomplish just enough to keep me from being disappointed in my laziness. I consider it all creative pondering time. I enjoy my reading and pondering. Lark enjoys the training and the hikes more. We compromise where we can.
Jane will begin preparations for a 4 day dog show that begins next Thursday. Her grooming prep usually starts about a week a head, different steps each day so that everything comes together. The fun part are the subtle changes that occur from the first day and the 4th day on a coated (long haired) dog. The covid rules for these shows are the tightest we have experience, as it should be. Besides the masks and physical distancing requirements we have all learned to expect, there will be no hair dryers of any kind and grooming in the building is severely limited. We will be grooming here at the house and then loading the "pretties" up in our vans and driving 20 minutes up the road to the show site. We are learning new skills every day!
Lark will expect another ramble today. Hope the day comes through will potential promise for all of you.
