Tired Friday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Tired Friday

Postby BarbaraRose » Fri Nov 06, 2020 1:18 pm

I am feeling tired and unmotivated this morning. But I have to start in again here. Maybe if I eat some breakfast and take a short walk, I will work up some energy.

Some light clouds rolled in overnight. Not rain clouds, but just enough to keep the temps a bit cooler which are already on their way down. I think we will just be in the 80's today and then tomorrow in the upper 60's  .

Just got an email that my new glasses will be here on Monday! Yay! I decided to just get regular glasses again, a pair of sunglasses, and a pair of readers.

Have a good day! :D

Been watching TV off and on. I can't imagine how the newscasters on all of the programs are managing with all the hours they are online. THEY must really be tired.

I had a Zoom dept meeting this morning at7:30 am. They are all in Michigan, so 10:30 am their time. I never turned my camera on and went back for a nap afterwards.

At Valley of Fire and heading off to check my tanks and do a little walking.

Three o'clock in the afternoon here in Arizona. We left home later than usual this morning and are at our first stop on this year's winter Mexico trip. Very windy drive here. Glad to be stopped - just overnight though. Unless weather tomorrow is worse. Raining right now.
I'm getting too old to be loading this thing in one day. Really wiped both of us out. And then he drove fighting the wind.
Still have to find someplace in the refrig for a couple of things. Other than that I think we are all together. I got a new Nook and a new laptop in the last couple of days. Learning how to work both of them, with the help of a couple of colorful words. Also my phone is acting up again. Will probably go to Verizon at our next stop. For some reason it is in Safe Mode - don't know how it got there or how to get it out. But was able to call Dish support to get TV working. So what else do we need.
Every one take care.

Have been working on the living room all day (well, since noon and it is just shy of 4pm ). I have put like-things in separate boxes. Got a lot of stuff tossed out and some stuff for the thrift shop. Can't believe all the dust! Lots of cleaning to get that out. Now I just have the boxes left to figure out what to do with. Need to find a home for that stuff. Not a lot of storage in here to put stuff away. Still got a ton of stuff out on the porch to go thru. Will try to get thru some of that tomorrow after I get the outside areas done. I discovered I need a new garden hose. Mine has had a tiny leak for awhile but now it is much bigger so will go to Home Depot to pick one up. Won't be enough water pressure with that leak, to spray off the dust and dirt from the house tomorrow. My paint guy couldn't make it today so maybe I will take a break here and run to HD. Have a couple other things to get there anyways.

Have a good evening!

Well my birthday is passing quietly. I went and signed papers for a new insurance policy on the casita. And paid for the year. Otherwise just been lazy. For some reason I woke up too early and now it feels like bedtime lol. Barbie, I totally relate to being unmotivated. I put away most of my outside stuff because my phone alerted me that we'll have high winds tomorrow (gusts 50 - 60 mph are predicted). So most is put away till my next visit.

I had to laugh when I checked my gas gauge on the car. I last bought gas the week before leaving Rapid City in September. I'm just barely under 3/4's of a tank 6 plus weeks later.

Rambling here so I'll quit boring everyone. :)

I made a couple of banana bread loaves this morning. I saw a recipe on facebook that used a cake mix and I wanted to try it. It is good but I will put a little sugar in it if I make it again. I have a chocolate cake mix that I need to use. I wonder how chocolate banana bread would be?

I went to Lafayette to help my son bag leaves in his yard and brought them one of the banana breads. I wanted to go to Home Depot but my sister called when I started home. She is coming with her granddaughter tomorrow and wanted to know if I wanted to eat lunch with them. I can go to Home Depot if I go meet them tomorrow. I know how that bunch operates. The granddaughter will sleep until almost noon and it's 3 hours to Lafayette. We won't be eating lunch.

I stopped and picked up some chicken at the grocery store and started a gumbo when I got home. It needs to cool off so I can put it in the refrigerator. I'll divide it up and put it in the freezer. Hopefully Eta won't come to Louisiana and we won't lose power again. It warmed back up to 90 today so not gumbo weather.

Carol, I didn't know that Americans were allowed to go to Mexico now. I thought that no one wants us now.

Happy Birthday Beth. Hope it is a good one. My son's birthday is the 15th. He has already started reminding me of the year I mixed his birthday up with his brother's.

Martha I put chocolate chips into banana bread on the occasion... you can try the chocolate mix if it doesn't work what are you out of a few ingredients is all.. oh and some time and heat but oh well
I got the shepherds hooks up have never had them go in as easy!!! I was impressed :o and not due to moisture either although I was sitting outside and had a few (very few) sprinkles decided to go in not cause of the rain drops but the flies... they stopped. awhile later I saw a partial rainbow for an nanosecond. was outside when I realized that the sun was setting so pretty pinks across the sky then they disappeared and moments later the orange colors came out!!! so pretty but didn't even try to get a picture my phone isn't good at photo's.. saw one bird before I got any feeders out.... then not again then I saw a hummer check out the metal flowers and another feeder so hurried up and made some food but still haven't see it back...they will come they always do... need to put out more feeders one I need a ring for had one can't remember where I put it so I could find it  looked in two places I wonder if the silverware drawer hmmm might have to look there...
tomorrow it's suppose to be really windy here as well guess it's across the state... I don't know if I've seen it before but they have a fire ban sign out... hopefully all do as it says as it's super dry and I for one don't want to lose my trailer...
you all have a good day

Went to HD and got a new hose and a few other things, including a small bouganvilla plant. It is peach color so will compliment the color on my house. Will plant it in a teal colored pot that I have. I think those plants are hard to kill since I see them everywhere out here blooming all the time. We''ll see...

Will see how the weather is tomorrow as to where I will be working...inside or outside. It got really windy earlier so I opened my bedroom windows for a nice cross-breeze but now it stopped. Not even a whisper of a breeze out there. Oh well.

Martha, chocolate banana bread sounds good to me! Let me know how it turns out!
