Rabbits Rabbits Rabbits

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Rabbits Rabbits Rabbits

Welcome to Sunday, November 1. I am here in Ohio listening to a blustery wind blow in some falling temperatures. I am glad I am not trying to drive a large rig anywhere. The sun is shining though and the dogs are busy chewing sticks into kindling our on the deck. My plan for today is to get some more reading done on Ann's new book, drive to a beautiful, new to me, thrift store in a near by community, just to see what may have fallen out of someone's mini van as a donation, groom on a couple of dogs, and hopeful take advantage of an 80% off sale an wrapped canvas pictures by ordering a few of my photos.

Here is a morning beverage toast to the potential prospects of a new month.

PS: please check in Miss Lyn.

Good Morning Tina and all. While you have wind, we have that and snow as well. First serious snow of the season as the NWS here says. And I’m sure there will be some accidents out there as people forget how to drive on snow covered roads. This is a wet type snow. But it won’t last as nice weather and warm temps are coming this week.

I like your agenda for today. Mine is sort of similar in that I want to run the vacum, wash my love seat cushion covers, do some online shopping, brush the dogs etc. Good day yo do those kind of things. And towel off the abominal snow dogs every time thry come in from outside

My early morning walk with the dogs to get a urine sample from Piper was successful, and vet said bacterial infection is much improved. Keeping her on antibiotics for another week and will reevaluate again. This has been a hard one to knock down.

So have a nice day everyone, wherever you are and whatever you get into. Stay safe :D

Good morning Everybody, the leaves are falling like rain after our killing frost yesterday. The garden is truly done!

Tina, when you visit the thrift shop, please keep an eye out for an old(very old) Cusinart DLC-7 food processor. I need a latching cover and they don’t make them anymore. I am willing to buy the entire food processor if you find one. You have my phone number.
Yes, we need a Lyn sighting...Beth

Enjoy today. Peggy

Happy November! I did say rabbits. And Lyn posted to the post with her name in the general room. Yay. My washing machine stopped a few minutes ago, but Ty who isn't a lap dog is in my lap and I don't want to disturb him. Yes, he's spoiled.

Hi ladies~~~
Past morning here in Waco, TX. Will be wandering Texas hill country for November and then heading towards Livingston for a couple of weeks for yearly domicile stuff, including jury duty, but maybe they'll cancel it like they did the one I should have had in March.

Also trying to make some new plans/routes. I wanted to head into New Mexico and Arizona, to eventually head north to Utah and maybe Wyoming again. Then I realized my route leaving Carlsbad in January towards Alamogordo would have meant to much cold, and possibly snow, :o so I nixed that plan, and will continue to wander Texas. Ah, the best laid plans. More like the worst. Not sure what I was thinking.

That's all from me. Nothing really exciting. Have a good month everyone!

Happy November!

Cheryl snuck in! The weather can really mess up plans lately! I remember we changed New Mexico plans in November years ago - so cold!

Glad to see Lyn's post, but we haven't seen Shirl for awhile either! I understand boring life or things no one wants to hear!

I moved to the KOA in Leavenworth, Washington, yesterday until April 1. So please with a bit of mountain view out back window and not under trees (that was a worry for when snow comes - and it will!) My future apartment is just across the road, but my building sits back so can't see much. I will rely on daughter Monica and her guy Alan for transportation this winter. I'm right behind Safeway and Monica works 2 blocks away.

Beth, Irmi and Karen making progress! I at least have some kitchen items for when the time comes. Monica is working long days at the school now and no longer at Ulta on weekends, but they need their weekends. Otherwise, I'd get her to go furniture looking with me.

Sue busy as always! Sheila having too many issues at once! Beki, I'll miss all those GTGs. Tina, while I was at the fairgrounds RV park, there was a weekend dog show! I saw some of the dogs lining up. That was the weekend my grandson was here so didn't check it out.

Martha, my Roomba is coming home today! :) Monica said Alan liked using it. She's picky so his housekeeping isn't up to her standards. I guess this worked well. I believe I know what I'll get them for Christmas.

Monica is coming shortly to pick me up. The Sling is their house and the Seahawks will play this afternoon.

Have a wonderful day everyone.

I didn't remember to say rabbits this morning. I really don't like to turn back the clocks! I woke up hungry at the usual time of 6 but grrr it was 5, I compromised and fixed my breakfast at 5:30. Now I definitely need a nap. Just heard a report on Emma who is at a dog show in KY, she won another 'leg'! That is two in one weekend!! She only has one more to go and she will have her UDX. Yesterday she came in second in her Open B class against some really hard competition. Her trainer is of course delighted. Three other dogs that she trains with their owners did very well also. Emma is the only one besides her dogs that she shows. I gave up training and showing long ago. It is mid fifties and sunny here but the wind is from the north so not very pleasant outside. Leaves though are really coming down. The full moon must be giving me ESP or at least my neighbor thinks. Last night I sent her a text saying it smelled like a campfire in our house and I was wanting a toasted marshmallow. I got a text back saying she and her husband were down in the country at their other property and were roasting marshmallows by a fire.

Oh shoot, I forgot about Rabbits. It's a nice sunny day and probably headed back to 80. I had to turn the heat on Friday night but I never did hear it come on last night. It didn't get as cold. I hate to turn the heat on for the first time because I think the house is on fire. I probably should have gotten it checked but don't like people in and out of my house now. Maybe in the spring.

Tina, I try to stay out of thrift shops. I should be giving them stuff instead of taking some home. My camping group loves thrift shops and flea markets. I end up in too many shops with them. I forgot to tell Peggy I found out where we can find Fig Preserves on my last camping trip. lol And you know I had to buy some. I'm a sucker for cookbooks so if I can find a cookbook that looks interesting and cheap that's what I usually end up with.

Beki, I camped with Claudia in September. She is sure getting around. If I didn't have to deal with hurricane damage I would like to follow her around Florida. It's been a couple of years since I have gotten to camp with the Florida group.

I had some leftover fried chicken that I wanted to do something with so I made a half recipe of cornbread dressing and put the cut up chicken in it. I'm getting a head start on Thanksgiving. Even a half recipe of dressing is a lot so that should hold me for a while.

BJ, that was funny about smelling the campfire. Last night when I was letting one of the cats in it was so light outside and I could smell smoke. I am just across a bayou from the state park and I bet there were a lot of campfires going on over there. Congratulations to Emma. I'm not much of a dog trainer. If I try to get Sugar to do something she thinks she is being punished and fall over. I don't know what was done to her before I got her.

Hello everyone! Since we live 55 miles from church and I'm the organist, we need to leave earlier than in the past, but to be able to have a lot where we are, it's so worth it. I did remember to say rabbits! Other than watching the construction on our lot for our casita, not much is going on here. Several food trucks will show up tomorrow in the clubhouse parking lot, among them a lobster truck with lobster bisque & lobster rolls, a bbQ truck and an ice cream truck. Can't wait! The weather here in central FL is still perfect with temperatures in the 80's and this morning woke up to 71 degrees. The early morning temperatures will be dropping but the day time temperatures won't be bad. enjoy the rest of your day!

P.S. Lyn, thanks for checking in!

Martha, I too had sworn off most Thrift Store lurching, because there are only so many "dress up" show clothes that I need and I have a really small closets. I also don't like to dust nick nacs. Now when there are so few other things to do that have polite mask wearing people spread out, etc.... I really don't go out except for the store and Lark and Audrey's training classes. But. Cindy, Jane's breeder, owns an old farm house and uses one of the smaller rooms upstairs across from her bedroom as her large walk in closet. She had been working in the closet organizing somethings when she went down stairs and took a phone call. That was when that a fire in her "closet" started by a too hot light bulbs too close to something. She was able to run her own bucket brigade up and down the stairs and put it out before it took off. Had she not been right there and responded so quickly, well most of you know that old wooded farm houses are made of old dry wood....

The insurance company did pay to have most all of her clothing cleaned professionally, unfortunately there were boxes and boxes of her suits, dresses and jacket, the majority of them, that had smoke stains that would not come out. She retired two years ago from teaching high school, so she had an extensive wardrobe of dresses and jackets, etc. ...and her large dog show wardrobe from shopping thrift stores for years. My shopping just reflects how exciting life is around here. Really don't need any more jackets but I know what color/s that she likes to wear and I am willing to assist building her inventory back up. And yes I might find something that catches my eye. Since Jane is lighter in coloring I am now able to wear darker clothing sometimes and still have her show up against me in the background.

Tina, sorry to hear about your friend's fire. Fire really scares me. My grandmother's house caught fire and if my dad hadn't know what to do it would have burned down. If I ever lite a candle I put it in a corning wear dish. I have so many battery and solar lights I seldom need to light a candle. When I was evacuated to my son's his girlfriend had a bunch of candles lit when the power went off. I would not go to sleep until she blew all of them out and went to bed. For Christmas they are getting battery and rechargeable lights.

I thought it was funny, the last time I wanted a flash light at Walmart they have all of them in a locked cabinet. After all the power outages I'm surprised the batteries weren't locked up too.

So this is what I did today. I have always cut the top and sides between having my hair cut at a shop. But with the virus plus the fact that the woman who has cut my hair for years retired I decided to give cutting it all over a try. So far the gray isn't too bad the bottom picture turned out a lot darker guess the lighting.

Hi all,

Weather is finally cooling down so jacket is needed for Sadie's morning &evening walks & no more A/C during the day. Kind of ideal if only we'd get some rain.

My 19-year old granddaughter came out for October to help with Olivia's virtual kindergarten schooling. She stayed at my place & went to their house with me when I picked up the baby each morning. She was a lot of help but I am used to living alone & not worrying about providing meals for someone else. She wants to go to Korea after she has her Associate's degree so we visited Koreatown several times & enjoyed eating authentic Korean food. She went home Wed so I'm happy to have my place to myself again. Got lots of cleaning done this weekend & didn't have to go anywhere except to take my ballot to a polling center yesterday.

Jordi, the baby, is 11 months old now. He's walking, climbing & busy, busy, busy. I still love watching him & seeing how his little mind works. Plus he takes really good naps so I get down time twice a day. I'll have Olivia here on Wed now that my granddaughter is gone so chaos may reign on Wednesdays with both of them & with the extra noise, naps are extremely short. :(

Lyn, good hearing from you. Hope the cardiologist gets back with you soon. We do miss you.
Karen, good to hear that things are moving along with your new place I'm sure it'll feel good once you are settled in.
Sheila, sorry to hear about the issues you've had - when it rains it pours.
BJ, I hate changing the time also. I have an atomic clock that doesn't seem to work so I have to google how to adjust the time on it twice a year. And yep, it sounds like your ESP was working well. I'm impressed with your haircut. I,too, keep my top & sides trimmed but have never been gutsy enough to try the back. You did great!!!! How'd you do it?
Anita, looks like you're well situated until your apartment is ready. Hope you stay warm.
Cheryl, you just keeping roaming. Thanks for keeping us posted on FB with your journeys.
Beth, Ty sure is spoiled but I can relate as I frequently rock Jordi long after he falls asleep. ;)

Sounds like many of you are experiencing late fall/early winter weather. I don't miss it at all. I've adapted well to southern CA.

Well, that's it. Hope everyone stays safe & warm.
Take care,
Catherine

BJ, I'm so jealous of your beautiful hair. I don't worry about butchering my thin locks. Although one of my employees over the summer straightened out the back after I cut it this summer. Your hair is gorgeous.

And you'll all be surprised to hear I did some weeding today. Not enough, but it's a start. Mondays and Thursdays the landscaping volunteers have most of the tools out of the landscaping shed, so tomorrow I hope to sign out a couple that will help me with some bigger things. Then I might feel like I'm making some progress. I make this sound like a really big project. It's not. But it's not an area I excel at, to put it mildly.

Catherine, I always smile hearing you talk about your grandchildren. Your love shines through.
