Morning Wednesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Morning Wednesday

Ohio has been experiencing the rain that some of you have been missing. Luckily it comes here and there with are enough breaks between downpours for dogs to get out and relieve themselves without being completely soaked.

I got my notice from the scoring center yesterday asking about my availability for contracts next year. I would like to just drive around all winter and spring but also like the idea of building up the savings/travel account so that in another year when It is safer to travel abroad I may have the funds to do so. Traveling around the US I can do basically within my budget if I am careful but travel outside the US is another level of expense.

Jane had another fun weekend at a dog show. She placed over her sister both days and the second day she went on to earn a 3 point major as Winner's Bitch. That is her second win and she now has both her majors and 6 of the 15 points needed for her Championship, all at 7.5 months old. She and her sister trade places often and on any given day one or the other will win. Twice now they have won WB and Reserve WB over the rest of the older class girls. The judges don't seem to worries about giving a nod to either one of these 6-9 month puppies.

Lark and Audrey have also pressured me to taking them to classes to work on their obedience skills so that they can continue working on their performance titles at the next level. I think they also enjoy the one on one attention of being going to class.

May everyone make some progress on their chosen project/s. And Sheila, I think it wonderful that your family has come up with way/s to support your mom and take particularly the financial worry off any one person.

I went to bed at 9:30 last night when my phone ran out of juice. The power came back on a couple hours later. I woke up at 9:30 this morning. I knew I was really tired after such a stressful week! Then the power went off again just before 10am. So am back without power but at least it is daylight. Will go thru my list of things to do and work on stuff I don't need power for. I should probably look for my battery operated lanterns just in case. Luckily I plugged my phone in overnight so that is all charged up now.

I think it will get to the upper 90's today so still too hot to do outdoor stuff. Hope it doesn't get too warm in the house before they fix the power.

Tina, glad to hear the pups had a successful show!

Have a good day!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

It's been cloudy, cold and raining here for what seems forever but only 3 days. Warmer today thought and supposed to be 80 tomorrow!

Congratulations Tina, Jane is really doing amazingly well especially as she is so young!! It's good you have work lined up for building up your travel funds. Will you work from home?
Sheila so good to hear your family stepped up to help your Mom. Barbie hope your power comes back on and stays on. Things are being closed here too as such a high increase of cases, especially in the next county where they think mask wearing isn't necessary....their numbers show it is!! I feel sorry for the restaurants and bars but I don't think there is any other choice. They are allowing carry out drinks which will help.

BJ, it won't be long and every state will have drive thru drink places like Louisiana. I just don't think it's worth the risk to go eat in a restaurant. I feel sorry for those businesses. My son's girlfriend works with the plays in Lafayette so she is out and about a lot. Hope the storm season is over so I don't have to go stay again for a while.

Tina, it would be hard to turn down extra money. Hopefully in a year we will be able to travel again. Congratulations to Jane and you.

It is back to the 90's again today. I was working in the yard and it didn't take long for me to give that up. We might have rain tomorrow and Friday so I will probably mow this afternoon. I can't get the push mower to start and I use it to cut Sugar's yard. It was starting fine before the storm. It would be a PIA to load to bring it to town. I'm sure I would have to get the neighbor to help me get it in the truck. The big trucks are picking up the trees on my road today. I never did drive down to the end of the road but was told there were a lot of trees down.

I agree, Sheila, it is wonderful that your mom got help from her kids. It sounds like she had a big family, which means she worked hard all her life, so they really do owe her. It was nice that one child could afford the large amount. However, it sounds like maybe she needs some continuing help, so someone should be reminding the others to donate some cash now and then.

My mother came from a large family, and my grandparents lived free for many years on some property my dad owned. But when my grandfather died, the uncles and my dad (who employed most of them as carpenters) got together and built my grandmother a small house close to where we lived. Then everyone was supposed to give her a certain amount of cash each month. Not all did, but she got a lot of help. My grandmother was kind of a character as well as a queen bee. I had an aunt and uncle next door and an aunt and uncle across the street. My grandmother lived behind the aunt and uncle across the street from our house, so we were all very close. She fixed her own breakfast and lunch, but she got dinner from one of the three families. So what she used to do in the afternoon was call around to see who was fixing what for dinner and then pick who was to bring her dinner!! And you were in big trouble if you were late!

Going to be in Grand Canyon south rim starting on Thursday for 6 days, however, I have been checking the weather. It will be in the 60s and 70s Thursday through Sunday, but then drops into the 40s on Monday and Tuesday. Big problem is that lows are going to be 12 and 15 on Monday and Tuesday, respectively. So, I will have to make sure my heating vent is open in the utility area where the tanks are located. The couple of times I have been in freezing weather, I also put some rags around where the electric cord and the dump hose goes out. One thing I did buy last winter was a remote thermometer, so I can put it in that area and then check the temps from inside.

Supposed to be a little snow on Monday, also, but sunny and warmer on Wednesday when I have to drive out. But maybe a little snow will make some good photos! After that, I will be in Willow Beach across the Colorado River from Las Vegas. And then up to Valley of Fire--so going to be in some of my very favorite places!!!

Judy, sounds like a good trip coming up. Stay warm tho!

I went and got my jeep washed and stopped at Home Depot for a couple things. On the way home, stopped at Taco Bell for lunch.

Found out the power will be out for another couple hours so Lola and I are now at Candiss's old house since that side of the park is not affected by the power outage. Nice and cool in here. Lola is exploring the place.

Seeing several RV's pulling in to the park today. The snowbirds are heading back, at least the US ones.

Sheila, it's great family is helping. Judy, I love your story of picking whose dinner. That's great. After taking a shower I decided to give Ty a bath. We're both clean now. And I'm waiting on the package due Monday that I'm now being told will be here today. I'm not holding my breath.

Temps will be going down here in a couple days. Ah, no complaints here. Then I'll try to do some of the outside work I've been avoiding.

enjoyed the temps today up in the 70's but suppose to drop 20 degree's not looking forward to that... just as I got out of the cold it turns cold here... son in law came and unhooked me I had hooked up the hose for water but it leaks at both ends so guess I will go get a new hose... I made a mistake when I pulled in and pulled to far into the site can park the truck but it's at an angle I think tomorrow I will take and park it in the visitor parking site or assume that is what it is .... he also noticed that I was leaking a bit of oil possibly have been but wasn't noticeable when parked on dirt here very noticeable on concrete... since it needs to have the oil changed hopefully they will find the source of the oil leak...if it's not one thing it's another I guess.
so did what I wanted to slept in and pulled out recipes... not much more than that except help my son in law..
have a grooming appointment for Shadow tomorrow so will have to get up and do something before taking him down... it's been awhile since he has been to her hopefully he remembers her and lets her do what she needs to... he doesn't like to be picked up to much .. I am just hoping for less fur and shorter nails
I looked at bank on line and noticed that my fritter cost about 20 dollars more than it should have grumbled thought I would give it a couple of days to rectify it's self.... but did look tonight and noticed that cash was next to it as well  totally forgot that I got cash as well as the fritter trying to replenish my cash fund...
rarely get cash at the gas station usually at grocery stores walmart that type of place...
Judi I like your grandma's way of choosing... bet she was a character. there were 7 that mom gave birth to... the youngest was a boy that was a still birth... my sister died at 13 from a car accident along with my dad so there are the 5 of us... none of us wealthy by any means ... I really don't know what family came up with the funds am glad that they did although I wish that they had reached out first... and I do hope that that account will be set up so people can add to it and help as they can... unfortunately it's easy to think I will do it but then life gets in the way and gets forgotten so when the need comes up it's hard to get the funds... I did offer to stay with her again but she again said that she thought that she would be ok this year... and we would talk about it again.... she is 94 so one has to wonder I think if I had a stick and brick or equivalent down in AZ I'd take her down so she could be away from the cold but she also said something the other day about at her age the best place is home especially with this virus... so probably couldn't get her to go either...
hope they got your power back on speaking of power Velda hasn't be one for a few wonder if they found out where the problem was in her lack of power
Tina hopefully you will have go West feeling one day and we will see you again...
guess we have to realize that it's fall and because of that the temperature will go down... not looking forward to it though
you all have a great day
Sheila
