It’s Tuesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

It’s Tuesday

Postby Othersharon » Tue Oct 20, 2020 1:37 pm

Good afternoon! It’s another wet dreary day with no sun so I’m kinda a slug. Just can’t get motivated for some reason. I have lots to do but it’s just been a sit on the couch and read kind of day! Maybe I’ll get motivated later which in my case is no surprise. I would love to be outside cleaning up leaves but right now they are soggy so hoping for a couple of sunny days to help dry them out a bit. Sue, I wish I had your energy! I am without a car this week. Dropped it off at the body shop yesterday and the hope is I’ll have it back by Friday afternoon. I was going to use one of my son’s cars but the logistics was just to much to ask of them. If it gets to bad and I just must get out for something I can always take Lola. I more or less decided not to put the cover on her again this winter. At least she’s winterized so that’s the main thing. I did my shopping over the week end so no need to run to the store for anything.
Beth, I love what you did to your windows! I went through some more clothes so more to go away! I always feel good when I manage to get rid of things I don’t wear anymore! As usual I ask myself why I’ve hung on to them! At least with the not going anywhere for the last several months I haven’t added more! I did pick up a couple of sweatshirts at Walmart but that’s about it! For sure don’t need jackets and blazers I wore to work anymore no matter how much I like them! Maybe someone else can use them! I got some paint to start doing some painting upstairs. I want to get the hallways done and redo the bathroom. Then I still want to do the living room at some point too. I’m thinking this is a good time to do it so it’s nice for the new year! A fresh start to what I hope is a better year! Martha , I got online and downloaded the forms I needed to change our vehicles into my name and just took them along with a death certificate into DMV. At the time I needed an away day so I took them all down to Harrisburg instead of mailing them and they only took a few minutes and I walked out with titles in my name. I was shocked at how quickly it went! Karen, sounds like things are starting to fall into place for you. Tina, sounds like the RT is working out for you. I still miss mine sometimes! Even though I love what I have now! Sometimes not having an extra vehicle is a pain! I really miss not having a pick up when I need to haul something to the dump! Okay, enough whining from me. Hope you all are having a good day and staying safe!

Hello Sharon and everybody else. It’s trying to be a nice day here in Hartford, but it keeps clouding over in anticipation of the rain heading this way. I got off the couch and went and got my shingles shot at the CVS pharmacy; no waiting, nice.
I bought some kefir yesterday and am using it as a starter to make my own. It has twelve strains of good bacteria. I make my own yogurt, so this should work, right???? Peggy

Sheila, it is that "I'll stick it in someplace until I find a better place to put it" that gets me in trouble. I will go out and buy something, and then because I don't like clutter and have to drive to a new campground, I stick it someplace and then it takes me months to find it!

Did three loads of laundry yesterday and will do one more load before I leave tomorrow. No place to do laundry until I get to Willow Beach Marina in a week. Then no place until I get to southern CA to visit a friend. I am lucky to have so many pairs of shorts and t-shirts. I can easily wash undies in the bathroom sink, and recently hung up four hooks in shower to hang them to dry! Also changed my bed and towels today, and put all my clean laundry away--two weeks worth of clothing. Also made a big pot of beef vegetable soup and froze some. Some I will eat for dinner tonight. I pretty much stocked up on stuff over the weekend, so am eating whatever takes up the most space in the refrigerator! We certainly do learn to live small, don't we??

Got a beautiful view of Lake Powell, but got lots of work to do today.

Thanks Sharon, I'll look on line and see if they have the forms to change the trailer title. My son picked up a vent for me and came and installed it yesterday. Now I don't have to worry about it raining in there. I have a friend that camps in a horse trailer. I could make a camper out of it. It's a 4 horse trailer so I could bring all my junk. lol It seems like when you can't go anywhere you can think of all kinds of places you want to go. The virus has taken most of the fun out of going anywhere. When I was going to Lafayette last week I couldn't believe how crowded all the restaurants were. No wonder the virus is spreading so much.

Peggy, when I got my instant pot I got one that I could make yogurt in. Homemade yogurt is suppose to be better but I'll probably never find out. Yogurt is not something I eat very often.

Our cool weather didn't last long. It is 96 today. I woke up about 5:00 this morning and couldn't go back to sleep until about 7:00. Then I slept to 9:00. My animals don't let me sleep that late often. I have been in slow motion all day.

Yesterday, I might have received an unintentional gift. FedX left a box of Harry & David pears on my carport. It was addressed to someone I had never heard of at a street number that doesn't exist on my road. There is a phone number on the box so I called it. The woman the box was suppose to go to lives in Maryland. The street number is hers and her street starts with a B but it's not Bayou. She told me that I should enjoy the pears and she was going to call the company and make them send her another box. I haven't heard from FedX so tonight I think I'll have a pear. lol That's what happens when these smart computers put what they think you are going to type.

Martha, I wish someone would send me a box of pears! Yum!

Judy, my thing is saying "I'll just put it here for now...". No wonder I can never find anything!

Was really busy today at work because everyone heard our county was getting shut down again and they all wanted to get a haircut while they could. Well, it turns out they are allowing salons to stay open! Yay!

Stopped at Hobby Lobby on the way home from work. Then when I got home the front gate wouldn't open. The power went out in my half of the park. There were three of us waiting to get in. Finally the security guy was able to get the gate open by hand. So it is dark in here. I had a list of stuff I needed to do tonight (including charging up my golf cart batteries) but that won't happen now. I have several battery operated lanterns but of course I have no idea where they are. I have tomorrow off so I can get stuff done then.

Good news! The temps are finally heading down and by quite a lot! Will be highs in the upper 60's and 70's by late next week! Yay! I have a lot of cleaning a to do outside and then start painting the trim once I do a test spot with the new primer and paint to make sure it won't peel this time.

Have a good night!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

I would enjoy them as well... love fresh pears... woke up to son in law being diligent in outside stuff so was up prior to the alarm going off... actually was on the road about 2 hours later he took the truck down to wash the windows and stopped by the post office to see if my ballet had arrived and yes it did.. was so glad... I wasn't sure what I was going to do... figured I was registered as yesterday I received two political items....
still hooked up as my son in law couldn't come by tonight to help unhook me... some of the stuff is two far away for me to reach... one of the reasons I wanted a 2 step fold up stool... but haven't located one yet... saw that Ace's has one but guess you need to order it and not sure how long it would take to arrive...there is a ladder you can mount on tail gate but fairly costly and not sure how far up the bottom rung is... hard to tell in pictures...
really tired tonight don't think I will set the alarm can't go anywhere anyway... when I got here there wasn't much choice of sites so they take me to a gravel one couldn't get it angled right due to length of trailer  so they got permission for me to take a site that someone else requested.... feel bad for them but was so much easier to pull into this one... :)
I did finish both of the have to finish projects... now I can work more steadily on the afghan for my last nephew and also work on the Swedish weave...
Last night sorta in a don't know what to do mode.... when I was at mom's I gave her what cash I had as I didn't think she would cash a check not even sure how much was there and really doesn't matter... just knew her property taxes are due soon 4500 and the new pellet stove is going to be if I remember correctly 3200 so I went to a chat pages that was set up to get word out about grandma and her needs.... it goes out to her grandkids as well as their parent's (her children) and told them all this and that I was hoping that they could send some money her way... one of my nieces was up and asked if it would be better to set up a pay pal account so a lump sum could be sent to her... I said I didn't care just she needed help...this morning on of my nephew's wife post that it was taken care of by someone who didn't want to be named all except a small amount on the stove... how grateful I am for their generosity can't help but speculate as to who it was... but will never know... not many in the family can do that so am sorta wondering if it was my brother and all his kids chipping in as it was his daughter in law that spoke up...
I think tomorrow I am going to go through magazines and pull out recipes ect so I can take them to a friend in SLC... her daughter has disabilities and one thing she enjoys doing is tearing apart magazines :o .... so try and save them for her...
you all have a good day

Ty and I saw a tarantula on the casita porch tonight. I forgot how big they are. Very cool. We must have scared him down into his burrow. It reminded me of the first time I ever saw one... With Jean (Sparkle) near Phoenix we encountered one slowly crossing the road and she called for me to help her move it across and out of danger. That was the start of me learning about them. Fascinating. And, like vultures, they have a very bad reputation when they really aren't dangerous.

And that's my excitement for the night. Maybe the order that was due here yesterday will arrive tomorrow? I can hope.
