Let's start our day with a good morning here.

It's Saturday - Where is Everyone?

Postby mitch5252 » Sat Jun 06, 2009 7:25 am

Image Sleeping in, I'll bet!

This is MY attempt at being Barbzee in the morning. Do you like it? As good as hers? hahahahahahahaha....I suppose I should go back to art school. Wait, I never went in the first place...

And, of course, I don't remember what everyone did yesterday for the recap. Barbzee, I guess I see now that you do an amazing job here in the kitchen. At least I can put on the coffee, tea, and put the diet soda in the fridge. Breakfast is gonna be poached eggs on toast, and some of those delicious pineapple upsidedown biscuits...

Have a WONDERFUL Saturday, everyone!

Michelle

Well good morning ladies
Mitch, your graphic looks like mine, are you sure you haven't been peeking
into my coloring book, thanks for opening the kitchen though, coffee
is delicious, someday I'll be looking for the "flavor" that comes intravenous
after I get my second job, like I don't have enough to do now.
Not much doing on my side of earth today, routine grocery shopping and laundry,
maybe a little housework, which would consist of doing the dishes and putting
the laundry away instead of letting it hang out in the laundry basket in the chair.
I do have my limits you know, although some days they don't go far, afterall, how
far can they actually go when you live in 29' shoebox.
Now, in reality, the dogs and I have already been out and about while its still cool
and enjoyed a little fresh air.
Have a good day and be safe.

Morning Mitch! Thanks for starting the morning coffee thread. Those upside down biscuits have become a big hit with my nephews,
10 and 12. It's cool here this morning. DD and DGD are sleeping in. I might walk down to the park and check out the Zumba session. It's an aerobic, dance work out with a Latin flavor. Heard about it in Austin and am curious, sounds like fun. No, not participating!
Hope everyone has a fun day, byee.

p.s. hi ava! we posted at the same time!

Such a perfect circle and straight lines Mitch! Excellent work! And you coffee is superb! It is 45* and pouring raining this morning. So I am sitting here with my heavy sweats on..cruisin' the web. I will not turn on the furnace on June 6...I will not turn on the furnace on June 6....the H@#% I won't! ;) Today is the city wide rummage sale and our former neighbor's estate auction. Because of the weather forecast, yesterday the family decided to rent the auditorium and have the sale there...guess it was a smart move because there is a lot of antique furniture and other high end items on the bill. Our former neighbors owned the local bank...so everything is probably going to be a little too rich for my blood. It will be hard to go to the sale and see many items that Helen cherished go to the highest bidder. I was surprised that her extensive Hummel collection and Christmas village were going on the auction block...none of her children wanted them. I'll probably get go and check out a few rummage sales in a little bit, have to buy groceries and get to the post office....my sister is coming sometime today and staying until Monday. I really should dust...but then I have heard that dust is a protective layer for the wood...I am almost positive I heard that! That's my story and I'm stickin to it. Have a good day everyone...everyone except Mitch and I should be all rested! Get up you lazy bones!
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

Okay, so I'm sitting around waiting to serve my sweetie breakfast. But he's too busy watching the Normandy ceremony on Fox News. I'm listening out of the corner of my ear, but felt a need to be creative, like Barbzeeeeeee....here is the result. The face is my Wii Mii. The body is well, the best I could do. But do take note - her dress matches her shoes. Took me a while to figure out the top of the dress. Before that, she was topless...

I know, I know - I have too much time on my hands this morning!!!!

ON EDIT: I need to clarify something - I meant no disrespect for the D-Day Ceremonies. We've both been crying like babies this morning. The numbers of young men who were killed storming those beaches is mind boggling. We visited Pelileu and found it one of the most moving experiences of our lives. So many have died so that I may cook my husband breakfast this morning, so many young men who lost the promise of their lives.

GOOD MORNING, ALL!

I, too, have been watching the celebration of D-Day at Normandie, and what a fantastic jet plane performance to end it just now-----unbelievably precision. I think it's amazing to hear the stories from the survivors of that hell. I especially loved hearing about the veteran who took a look at the cemetary before the ceremony today, went back to his hotel room, and died in his sleep. Very nice ending to his proud life, for him and his family.

I am late because I spent the night at the leanto, and came up here to get some chores done, feed the cat, and whatever else I can think of, including making a dump run. What a totally beautiful night at the 'tube' (nickname for the leanto coined by a little friend who used to call it my 'leantube'!!) Wonderful spring peeper concert, eastern toad trills, and other frogs beginning to sing their spring songs. Of course, I forgot my camera, but have it packed for tonight NOW! Sunny, warm day up here, and I am going to enjoy every second of it! I hope to have a video of the evening down there for tomorow morning when I get back up here to feed Twitch, my old cat.

Here's hoping you all have a wonderful Saturday doing fun things.....I will look forward to hearing about your adventures later!

I DO have a couple of pictures of my fully-opened-up lilacs and Mountain Ash flowers which I will post on the general forum. The air has a strange mixture of sweet, beautiful aroma (lilacs) and harsh, icky smell (Mountain Ash). If I didn't love the bright orange berries that each of those acrid-smelling blossoms produces for the late summer/fall, I would cut them all down!

P.S., Mitch!!! Nice attempt at doing a Barbzee drawing!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Good morning. We got back from the puppy check up for their next set of boosters....$$$$. Herschel got a bath last night and insists that his ear infection has cleared up enough for him to visit his friends at the nursing home home without fear of ear rubs...that would be after lunch and Stuart said that I have been promising to take him to the pond so that he can practice swimming with the kayak. I think something may need cleaning somewhere...isn't that always the case, but it is much to pretty out to think to hard about that. Grabbing a diet coke and going to head over to the next door neighbors and check out their yard sale. Enjoy the day, don't work to hard on chores, take in your life's adventures whether large or small!
