Bring your own glass. Can't believ I'm first on at nearly 5 pm Californian time! Been busy all day with handyman chasing down why several outlets and lights don't work! So far it's a mystery and getting more expensive by the hour! His friend, a licensed electrician, just got off work and Sean went to pick him up. They will together begin trying to figure this out! It's looking like I may have to empty 2 pillars of books and stuff, plus empty big bookcase headboard, then they will have to dismantle the bridge at top, removing very large mirrors that fit in grooves, then remove bridge then unbolt the lower section to move it forward. Sean kept asking can't we just scoot It all out? I rolled my eyes and said several hundred pounds of solid oak with loose mirrors to flex and break? So far he replaced the bad GCFI on outsider opposite the headboard and removed the shorted 30 amp spa plug in and wire nutted it off and crawled under bed to reach one outlet but cant reach where the ceiling fan wires to wall as its behind the headboard. Still no lights in room or porch and some outlets out. Checked all breakers and though one was slightly loose, fixing that did nothing.
Long day.
Kind of warm in low 90's but clear blue sky with breezes and very low humidity.
Tomorrow other than Curves I guess I'll be here watching Sean work.

That's scary, Velda. I hope the figure it out!

I was up before 7 this morning and had my 3rd (and final) long driving day. Ty and I reached Benson at a decent hour (considering early start and gaining an hour) to 90 plus degrees. I'll be seeing these temps for a week, so I'm hoping I can continue getting up early and doing things in the couple hours in the 50's and 60's. It quickly hears up from there. I turned on the fridge in the casita and will move everything from the rig fridge tomorrow and let it naturally defrost. I have lots of laundry. The heat will dry everything quickly I need to clean both the rig and the casita... I have to figure out what to clean first. Maybe pay of both for a start (like vacuum up the few dead bugs I saw in the casita). I have the water on to the casita shower and I see a long shower in my plans for tomorrow.

Another situation at work today. An Asian guy came in selling cutting shears. My other male coworker was looking them over and talking with the man about them. He asked if he could try one pair out on the next client. The man said yes. After the haircut, my coworker decided he didn't want to buy the shears. The man went crazy! He got all pissed off and nasty. Finally my coworker told him to leave but the guy refused and started to threaten him. They got in a huge shouting match and my coworker threw him out the door. Got pretty intense. Not a very good salesman! You don't threaten your customers if they decide not to buy your product.

wow Barbie you work in Drama Central guess he figured if the guy used them he should have to buy them I guess who knows what people think....
It is so cold those temps sounds so good actually got a few things put away into their travel mode... was going to box up the dolls tomorrow but Saturday it is supposed to rain so think that tomorrow I will before the winds start up put up the mats Also need to start the cinnamon rolls but it's something I can do leave and do something else and return to it...lots of time for raising I want to wash the rugs and Shadow's throws let the air dry winds are suppose to be up to 15 mph they should dry quickly if they stay on the line.
still need to trim fringe need to do it so those projects are done...
my grandson's father in law came and looked at the battery cable he suggested that I bring the 5th wheel to him so he could power wash the batteries... gulp I don't even like to drive into his drive way in my truck and it's a long driveway... I think I will ask my sil if he has a power washer if not then we will just do it with baking soda and water and brush...my granddaughter said you could take it into the field I don't even like the thoughts of doing that... it will work out but admit that they need a good cleaning...
I almost had the tanks pumped out today but decided that I would just dump them while in Ogden why pay 50 dollars to have them pumped out but the smell is bad not sure why as they aren't that full and it's not been that long since they were pumped out... one of the negative parts of rv'ing

Beth, glad to hear you made It to home base safely and can catch up on things you need to do. Sheila, sounds like your travel day approaches. Do travel safe. Barbie, sure glad you are safe after the nut job salesguy!
It was a warm tiring day here. Licensed electrician arrived around 5 and they spent hours goi g through every circuit. They still can't find the issue. Tomorrow, we cut a hole in the headboard, to avoid having to unload amd dismantle the huge heavy oak pieces. I decided it doesn't do any good to be mad at Mel for wiring the fan power behind the headboard as we wired and sheetrocked the room, and it's better to have access to it. Sean will cut an access and build a neat door to cover it. It's kind of tne last place to check for where the issue is with no power to one circuit. Andy used his professional test equipment and went through the main panel and both sub panels, all good. Tested every outlet in tne room and outside the room, opening each to check for loose or bad connections and found no issues. If the fan power connection is good, I'm not sure what is next. An expensive day for sure, but not much else i can do. Gotta have lights. All the outlets in my room have power, but overhead lights and ceiling fan plus porch lights and light with exhaust fan in laundry room right outside my room do not.

Thanks Sheila, I'm definitely to the shout and shake fist stage in frustration. I just don't understand why this is so hard to pin down, no issue ever in 30 years then power in one section just goes away without a clue where the problem is.

Had a receptacle that didn’t work. Electrician had to open wall and found a mouse had chewed the wire. Sounds like a bad breaker but electrician would have thought of that.

One by one breakers have been removed and replaced. Also GFCI plugs changed. Today he spent hours in the attic, in our deep fluffy insulation, going through the big junction box required when we moved the end wall with the electrical panel west 20 ft when we added on to the house. Still a complete mystery. He and a electrician will be back Monday to try some new testing with one in attic, the other at the panel checking wires for continuity one by one. It's all very strange.

Can't you have that all rewired and just bypass the old wiring?

Rewire, As in tear out walls? Very difficult in a 3000 plus SF house.even with one wire you could replace If necessary it could be done with great difficulty in a finished wall by drilling down through studs. Because of the nearly 900sf addition, all wiring was extended to reach the new box using a junction box in the attic. Literally every wire in the house joined there to new wire running from there 20 ft to the new box. Also, one has to know where the issue is to run new wire. Can't just go cutting into hundreds of feet of functional wiring and replace. a lot of wiring in this big house. But it's only one circuit that isn't functioning and finding that one circuit in a foot of fluffy insulation, with dozens of other circuits running all over is a challenge. Upstairs is over 2600 sf, downstairs daylight basement 1200 sf, garage 900 sf, each with wiring amd sub panels etc. it's all worked perfectly until last Tuesday. Plan is to do continuity testing from electrical panel to junction box to try to find the circuit, then to trace that individual wire from panel through junction box to each place it runs to find where the problem is. It could be as simple as a wire nut loose. All while climbing through a foot of loose insulation through big triangle shaped roof trusses, while its over 90 degrees out and higher in attic. No easy job. All the simple obvious stuff had been checked off the list.
