Mornin'!~~~
Present and accounted for here in Arkansas. Pretty much a lazy day today. Bill paying and bird watching. The herons do like to have their little tussles.

That's it from here. Have a good day ladies and stay safe and healthy wherever you are.

Thursday Rabbitts

Postby Shirlv » Thu Oct 01, 2020 9:27 am

Morning All, I did say “Rabbits” after midnight. Was up late because my kindle library book was due to expire today. I wouldn’t have been able to sleep if the book disappeared before I knew if the female FBI agent got the bad guy. I had an eye exam appointment, order glasses appointment and renew my drivers license at MVA. I have been waiting for a long time for all appointments and they did not coincide in the right order. I have been diagnosed with AMD so was apprehensive about vision test at MVA. No glasses and failed test and almost in tears. They gave me a form for eye doctor, said bring back today and you won’t have to make another appointment. I must have a guardian angel (#2 Grandaughter) who just started working in the doctors office. I got the form, back to MVA, had the sweetest woman take my picture twice because the first was too ugly. I watched about 15 minutes of the debate and thought we need a woman in the White House to give the naughty boys a time out. :D It’s a cool fall day on the shore so need to take a walk. Be safe

Thanks to Sheila I remembered "Rabbits". I think we need all the luck we can get.

Shirl, your motor vehicle office is nicer than ours to take two pictures. Someone must have straightened out the employees here because they use to be hateful. Now they are helpful. I just hope they don't close our office. The closest office would be Lafayette and when you pass that office there is usually a line out the door. I managed to pass the eye test without my glasses after surgery but I see better with my glasses.

I have an idea for the next two debates. Put them in a sound proof box and when it isn't Trumps turn, turn his microphone off. There would probably be smoke coming out his ears.

I don't know what I ate at the campout that upset my stomach so much but it's still not back to normal. I had to go to Lafayette to sign some papers yesterday and that was a painful trip. I feel better but not great.

Tomorrow is trash pickup so I need to get dressed and fill up the can.

Here goes because some omnipotent individual will come along and combine these two posts. Welcome October. May you bring rain and water to those areas of the country suffering without. May you bring some cooler temperature for those of us that didn't like those summer temperatures and may we have the good sense not to complain about how cool/cold it is getting. May we be happy to have survived this far into the year. Not a small accomplishment these days.

The trip out east to my son's had several learning opportunities for me. I have a list of issues and upgrades that I would like to pursue next but was very happy with the Chevy itself and its ability to get me down the road. And I reminded myself about that whole "no payment" thing going on. Sadly she needs to be winterized for safety here in Ohio but I will still be able to take her to the dog show next week (already have reservations in) just using the black and grey tanks with pink stuff for flushing....

Driving down the road and finding what works and what doesn't made me reflect on how we grow in our acceptance of the RV experience/s. When I started out 15 years ago I wanted a new rig because I was so worried about how to "deal" with things not going smoothly. After 15 years of those "oops that isn't what I wanted to happen", happening, I just either do without or make a work around. And I always remind myself that I have a healthy credit card and and can rent a car and/or motel room if necessary... And there is always the relaxing sense that if I forget a few things, I can and do go shopping down the road.....

Have a good month. Jane and I are off to a dog show weekend tomorrow......

I actually remembered Rabbits this morning. Of course Emma was still sleeping so I didnt talk to her at all until she stirred so snuck the rabbits in before she was awake.

Off to do some errands today. Need to go get my mail and they keep moving it from one post office to another so think I have it narrowed down to the Phoenix office, we shall see. Then today will start getting it forwarded to my new UPS store mailbox. I need to remember to get some dang stamps. I always had enough on hand so dont even think about them until I now have some things to mail.

Taking Emma to my groomers today. She was evacuated for 8 days due to no electricity etc. She came home to a huge mess in her refrigerator and freezers UGH But now she is back in business and Emma desperately needs a bath and her nails trimmed. I had all the equipment to do it but we know where that went. It is the little things I think about that I will need to replace when I finally land somewhere........not sure where that will be yet of course.

Looking forward to getting out of here for the week to go visit with Laura. We always have a good time together so will be fun.Supposed to be 92 here today but will cool down later in the week to the 80's. Fall is coming, just taking it's time.

I am here...and, remembered “rabbits “ this month.
Another thing I did in Eureka Springs was go on a walking tour. The bus tour was full so I got a map and walked the bus tour route.
As I have mentioned several times, I do not like to cook. I tried the Freshly advertisers in Tv. Comes all prepared and just put into
Microwave. Calories are between 500/600 per meal. So far I have rated them OK. Out of 5 meals only one got excellent.
Barbie, stay safe on your trip. I hope the news of fires in Redding is wrong. Many homes lost in the last fire.
Karen, it’s good to have choices!

Good afternoon Everybody, I’m checking in from Connecticut. All is well with me. Bringing in some plants to winter over and giving others away. I didn’t see Liz’s posting anywhere on the Forum. Was it on Facebook? What did she say?

I’m recuperating today from a five-hour parole hearing yesterday for the worst of my son Joshua‘s three murderers. There are so many new laws, especially in California, that outright favor prisoners over victims. We listened to questions by the parole board commissioners, the murderer’s attorney, the district attorney for the county we lived in where my son was murdered and a statement from the murderer. Amazingly, in 25 years he has never apologized yet claims he’s taken a Victim Awareness class. I believe these guys just check classes off a list in the hope they will speed up their release, yet they never seem to put what they’re taught into practice. My daughter, ex-husband, and I were able to give impact statements. It’s so difficult for us to have to keep going through this. So far I’ve prepared impact statements on six different occasions since the three were found guilty and every time it takes absolutely everything out of me. None of the statements are ever the same since the details of the involvement of each of the three in my son’s murder are different and the current circumstances change each time depending upon what they’ve done, good or bad, while in prison. It’s amazing how days of coming up with the right words and sitting and listening to five hours of testimony can cause complete exhaustion.

The good news is that the parole was denied and he was given five years before parole will be considered again. The bad news is that the five years will almost certainly be divided in half to 2 1/2 years if he doesn’t get into any kind of trouble or have problems in the next 2 1/2 years. It seems victims are forgotten in our current system.

The other scary thing is that California is speeding up release of prisoners due to Covid regardless of the severity of their crimes. In addition, I have to begin thinking about my impact statement for one of the other three on December 2 and worry he may simply be released due to Covid.

Sorry for dumping my sorrows, but I love this forum and all the support it provides. Sitting here alone at home, it’s comforting to have friends to talk to.

Sandi, I feel so sorry For you and your family. Current government in CA is determined to let felons out. They are even emptying and closing the prison where my Dad worked, in Tracy. prayers for your strength and comfort.
I'm here and bored because this amount of reading and typing hurts some. Back to my cave, awaiting healing ! Wish tne SQL errors would go away. I'm a moderator but clueless.

Thanks Martha. Don’t know how I missed Liz’s posting. Particularly since I love butterflies, it should have caught my eye.
Sandi, so sorry that you have to go through the patrol hearing so often. It is heart wrenching. Stay strong. Peggy

It took me all day, but the two morning coffees are merged. :D I actually read Cheryl's post just before I hit the road. I love all the roll call posts. And I did say rabbits in the middle of the night. No idea how it came to me then, but looks like lots of us said it.

(((Sandi))) my heart cries for you.

I'm in eastern SD now... It was cold this morning and chances of frost tomorrow morning. But it looks like things are going to warm up some in a couple days for my visit in Wisconsin. I hope so.

Time for me to hit my pillow. Happy October everyone.

I was in Eureka Springs once with a friend and her parents. Fun and interesting little town. My friend and I both got car sick tho from the curvy drive to get there and back!

I got quite a bit done today but didn't get everything on my list done. Tomorrow will be a very busy day with getting the UHaul truck and loading it up in 110 degree heat! When will it ever cool down??? Still have to pack and put my laundry away and get everything ready to take off early on Saturday morning. Candiss had a really bad day today with lots of last minute things going wrong so she is all stressed out again and not feeling well. Moving is a bitch! I hope I don't have to move again for a long, long time!

Mr and Mrs 45 both tested positive for Covid-19 today.

The swarm of earthquakes is still going on south of me but I haven't felt anything yet. They say it is happening too far from the San Andreas fault line to affect that at all.

Sandi, I feel for you having to go thru that whole thing over and over again. I don't know why they can't just release the non-violent criminals out only. Murderers should never be let out early for any reason, even a pandemic.

Off to bed...
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Sandi, my heart truly goes out to you. I don't know how you bear it. [[Hugs]]

I don't think murderers should ever be released from prison. Period.
