Last Saturday in September

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Last Saturday in September

Postby PeggyinCT » Sat Sep 26, 2020 7:13 am

Good morning Everybody from beautiful Connecticut. The fall weather is perfect, cool and sunny, but we need rain desperately. All the tropical storms stayed south of us, so not even a sprinkle.

Barbie, so happy that you received the generous tip. That person wanted to give and was happy with your work. Good job.

Tina, I hope you are having a fun trip in your Trek. Sorry we couldn’t gtg this time, but another time for sure. Please let us know how Lori and Doc are.

I am taking a free on-line poetry class, Modern and Contemporary American Poetry, from the University of Pennsylvania. It’s non credit so I don’t have to take the quizzes or write essays, but I could if I wanted a certificate of completion. I’m passing on the certificate, but I am working very hard and have read more poems in the past three weeks than in my entire life.
Enjoy today

Peggy, I did have a nice visit with Lori and Dock and I remembered to take a picture. I will post later when I get home. I have enjoyed being a smaller footprint on the highway and moving through the gas stations. I have several "issues" that I need to resolve and need to sort out my inexperience with these systems from some of these systems are not working as they should. But the engine is chugging down the highway so at least I should be able to get home! Well I will get home but it may take me an hour to fill the gas tank LOL. Remember that the gasoline leak was from a worn filler line that was replace. So I have no leaks but when filling the gas tank, the sensor on the fill nozzle keeps picking up some pressure and thinking the tank is full and kicks out. As I said, it will make it home but I do look pretty strange at the gas stations repeatedly clicking on and off while filling. Good thing I have gray hair and am not afraid to look foolish!

Heading into the house for a cup of tea after walking the dogs one more time.

Well Elsie has gone to her new home. The people came yesterday to pick her up, certified bank check in hand.. It was a fast but a rather frustrating experience. The people said Wednesday evening they would buy it and would bring the money on Friday, Thursday morning the man called and said his wife was all upset and they had changed their mind. Two hours later he called and said she wanted them to buy it. I had already changed my Facebook page and decided until I had $$ in hand I would leave it as for sale. I am sad and also relieved. I saw a 2001 Great West van for sale in the paper this morning and thought hummmm but I'm sure it is long gone.

Good luck Tina I hope you can get everything working !!

Another weekend! The older I get, the faster they seem to roll around.

Barbie: Congrats on that wonderful tip! Such a nice surprise.

Peggy: Fall always makes me a tiny bit homesick for New England, but not quite enough to move back! Enjoy your poetry class, especially without the pressure of tests!

Tina: I have the same gas filling problem with my car! Sometimes I can get it to fill ok by pushing the nozzle all the way in, twisting it sideways instead of vertically, and then backing it out just a little. It is so-o-o frustrating, though.

BJ: Wow! Congrats on Elsie's sale! Sorry it was a bumpy time.

Happy Autumn decorating time everyone! Out here we'll sure be happy to see Fall temperatures. We're supposed to have at least 3 days over 100 this coming week!

Mornin' ladies~~~
Just sitting outside enjoying the beautiful weather here in Eureka Springs Arkansas. Hasn't been a cloud in the skies for days, but some rain expected Sunday night with a cool front moving in. Have done a bit of sightseeing, but have avoided town itself since a while lot of bikers are here, even tho a rally was canceled. Hoping for Monday if they all leave Sunday. (fingers crossed)

Stopping at a dealer on my way south to my next stop. Had a broken blind that was ordered at my final warrenty check, but they ordered the wrong one, and never ordered the correct one. I called the factory myself and it was sent here. Plus, my propane regulator went ppffft, so need get that replaced too. Gotta love loving in a rolling bucket of bolts.

BJ glad you're sale is finally over. Tina also glad you had a chance to visit Lori & Doc. Sure do miss her opening MC with a breakfast menu. Peggy, are you headed west this year?

That's it from me. Have a good day ladies. Stay safe wherever you are.

Hi Cheryl, no I won’t be driving west this winter. Probably won’t go south either. Getting out my boots and muffler! You’ll hear me fussing come January....

Good Morning!

Barbie, quite a tip!

Tina, I agree with Evie about the gas nozzle. The Sling has the same issue so just have to find that right angle.

BJ, I went through somewhat the same thing when I sold the Chalet. Woman said yes, then called to say she didn't have the funds after all, and then told me of her issue with numbers when she came to pick the trailer up.

Peggy, if my current plan comes to be, I may be fussing louder than you. :D I have decided with all the unrest in this country, I'd prefer to stay in this quiet area. I called the KOA about winter rates - she didn't know but called me back later. A couple days later I called to reserve a spot and got someone will call me. They are advertising for the winter season on their website so I don't know what the problem is. Will visit them the first of the week along with another campground.

After 11 days of smoke, we had rain a week ago yesterday. Then 4 days of decent weather and now having days of rain, but I think it is about done. Fixed one leaking skylight and now have another. Fall is a beautiful time in this area.

Stay safe and be happy!

Afternoon all, Waiting for the washer to stop so thought I would check in. It’s cloudy with showers off and on. Windows open until the traffic gets backup outside. I seem to be operating on senior time, slow and very slow. Thought I would have dinner at 6:00 but didn’t get the meatloaf in the crockpot until later. Took a shower, dressed nice, put in earring and a dab of perfume. Trying to convince Shirl she is loving life. :D Just kidding I’m doing ok. Looking forward to a nice dinner with a glass of Merlot. Be safe

Had a short day at work today. Was pretty steady in the morning.

Got some things to do today around here. Just had lunch so am relaxing until that gets digested a bit and then start in on stuff. Have tomorrow off too so will do laundry, etc. Then I work 3 full days before I am done for 11 days for the trip to OR. We will load the UHaul on Friday and take off early Saturday morning heading for Santa Nella for the first night. Will be a longer drive that day but is pretty much flat and boring. The second day will be a little shorter to Weed, CA, and then Monday will be just 3 1/2 hour drive (but probably a little longer with going thru some mountains) to arrive at her new house. We will have most of the day to unload the truck and get boxes in the right rooms and get settled in a bit before bedtime. I am taking a small airbed and bedding/blanket/pillow and will leave that there for her when I go home. Her ex-husband brought in a bed for her (he found and bought the house for her. They are good friends yet so she trusts him). We will have to make a run to the grocery store and probably Walmart to get some food and a few things for the house. She is not bringing a kitchen table or chairs so we will need to at least get a couple stools for her breakfast bar.

Once I get home, hopefully it will be cooler here because I have a lot of cleaning to do outside. With all the dust all summer and then the scalping they did last week on the lawn and all the debris that is all over from that, there is a lot of cleaning to do! Then get rid of dead plants and other things I left on the patio and deck over the summer. I also need to finish painting the trim on the house once I make sure the new primer I got is going to work to keep the latex paint from peeling like it is.

OK, I am rambling now...time to get busy!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Good evening. Thought I would chime in and say hi. Darkness is settling in here in the north and temp is around 70. We have had a beautiful week of summer like weather but it is coming to an end. Colder and wetter weather on tap for this week. High toward end of the week, predicted to be in upper 40’s  Talk about goi
Ng from one extreme to the other. And of course, this is the week I made reservations to go camping in the U.P. to see fall color. WilL just roll with the punches. Packed Win wear, have two full tanks of propane and a ceramic heater. Will be out running around regardless. No rule saying that if the weather gets absolutely too crappy, that one cannot come home. I am not seeing any cancellations in the park either as far as reservations are concerned so everybody is going to just deal with it. But we all know that weather forecastS change constantly.

AI the trailer is loaded and ready to roll, the fall color is looking Great from pictures I’ve seen, everything's in order around here and our fall color is coming in too. I think mom nature might outdo herself this year. We are also having a bumper crop of acorns falling from the oak trees. They are banging on decks, roofs and all over. Sounds like little pop guns going off. A bit of a breeze and down they come. No fun getting hit with one either. Ouch. Hard walking on them too.

Peggy, sounds like you are enjoying your poetry course. Tina, I can tell you like your Trek. Both you and it will get straightened out in time. Barbie, congrats on the big tip and safe travels to OR. Anita, big changes coming up for you too. The Pandemic has everybody thinking and making lifestyle changes.

Going to bid you all adieu and see ya later.

woke up to some rain... then later my dd text me that they were headed over to the storage unit to reorganize it and get rid of some of the stuff... so went through some of my stuff some put back in to look through next spring some yarn that perhaps I can use for another afghan if it fits the colors for whomever.. was getting cold and not in the mood to weed through stuff...
several rocks that one would think one would remember but I don't but back into storage unit  so next year I can use them when planting containers or I have looked at an area that is a sloop and wondered if I can fix it into a rock garden anyway some what successful there are some things they are going to put on marketplace or similar site some free ect did I mention that I came up with a catchy name for a storage unit??? occasionally you see somewhat catchy names the one I came up with was out of sight out of mind :?
so it's chilly for those complaining of heat probably because I was out in the chilly dampish air... but am chilled need to think of something for supper not sure what it will be tuna melt is sounding good might be that
I ought to work on the blanket I am so hoping that the yarn I have will work wish there was a yarn shop close like in Rexburg but when I sorta glanced in Walmart didn't see anything that I thought would work... has to be the right color and before it's mentioned that bin of yarn I looked nope dang it all anyway...
so think I will try to get on bank it wasn't recognizing my password so betting I am going to have to come up with a new one... hate when that happens I knew immediately what I did wrong and backed spaced to fix it... then tried several times all of which I am pretty sure were correct... oh well hate it but guess I will have to do it...
