Buffalo Roundup Friday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Buffalo Roundup Friday

Postby Bethers » Fri Sep 25, 2020 12:09 pm

Custer State park has their annual roundup today. SD public broadcasting has been live streaming it for the first time this year, so I've been watching. Down to a few days at the store and many people come and leave because the shelves are so bare. I did go to Sam's Club yesterday and buy more water and Gatorade as well as couple other things. But, yes, the shelves are the lowest in stock ever. Inventory will be a breeze!

Today's weather is gorgeous, mid 70's for a high. It looks like we're starting to head into cooler temps now. But still warmer than normal for this time of year.

Happy Friday!
Judy, I do hope the lights are fixed with just a fuse. I'm sure it was nerve-racking driving to the cg the other night knowing they were out.
Beth, nice to know that inventory will be easy this year. 70's are perfect weather - can't wait until that's our high - usually in Jan or Feb.
Karen, good to hear your storage unit fared well & that you're getting some of the basics that you need. Sounds like Emma makes friends easily. :D

I've got today off. My DIL gets off every other Friday so I do too. :D Knowing I wouldn't have the baby today really got me in high gear this morning - did the laundry & cleaned the floors all by 8 AM. Walked to the Post office & cleaned out the fridge after that. He is sweet but much higher maintenance than Olivia ever was so I don't get anything done when I have him. He's a 10 month old dare-devil - loves to climb on anything & everything & is constantly on the move. Makes me appreciate having a day to clean & tend to other things around here other than weekends. Love my little guy - especially when he's sleeping (in my arms as I rock him - doesn't get any better than this).

Looking forward to cooler weather someday...

Take care,everyone.

I also am certain it is a fuse--problem is which one! Looked in Ford manual, but it does not list running lights because those were put in by Fleetwood. Also, it lists license plate light and headlight fuses, but not tail lights. So I called Fleetwood, and basically they said that they do not keep track of which wires they use from the wiring harness Ford provides and thus cannot tell me what fuses belong to those wires!! I asked the question several ways because I could not believe they did not know these things, but no luck.

And there are about 30 fuses in a fuse box in the engine compartment and another 50 are in an impossible to reach fuse box under the dash, next to the brake pedal. But cannot see it clearly and cannot remove it. Incredibly dumb. Even one of the camp hosts gave up. So I am going to try to find a mechanic or Ford dealer in Green River on my way to Capitol Reef National Park tomorrow.

As long as I have brake lights and turn signals, I will be safe as long as I do not drive after dark, so I am going to try to get an early start tomorrow. Only 158 miles to Capitol Reef so I should have enough time to try to find a mechanic.

how cool that was Barbie... must have made your day...
well my back up glasses broke the lens falls out easy all I have to do usually is tighten it up ... I picked up my glasses put them on thought not seeing very well need to clean them then realized that the lens was out so found it dropped it down the side of the couch finally texted those at the house to see if they could help I could see it but not reach it... just as my son in law knocked on the door I got it out thought wonder if I can reach under the couch if I can reach it just barely.... was so glad then started to tighten in and it wouldn't tighten part of it was missing.... so went to get my newer glasses ( had gotten a glass kit with screws) so thought I could put a screw in and be able to use them but in trying to repair them the first time they broke something got taken off now I can't get the arm to stay on  so am having to use my prescription sunglasses... it's going to be really dark going home tonight... came up and other than 2 of the grandkids not seen anyone and they are not answering the text asking where everyone is.. :?
trying to tie the quilt using an old one for reference not seeing it that well perhaps I need to bring it up here and put it on the table to I can see it better. it's one where you get the illusion of a heart by how you place your yarn one is the color of the gingham and the other is white...usually works best if the gingham is dark but I got a lighter color not sure if I can take a picture and have it show up or not...
so besides doing dishes trying to fix glasses and trying to start of this quilt ...that was my day.... not sure that the yarn is the best either picked it for color was closest to the color of the gingham but turns out to be way different type of yarn so hoping it covers enough of the spot to work  that has been my day think I will play a game or two then head home find something to eat and crochet get my 4 rows in ...
you all have a great day
oh my brother came guess he is going to help mom figure out what to do about her pellet stove...

Judy, that fuse for me was in the fuses under the hood. I know which it is now, but the first time my brother-in-law pulled fuses one at a time until he found the bad one. Luckily it was one of the first few he tried. Good luck.

Barbie, that's amazing. You obviously made someone happy and they reciprocated.

Weather is telling me it's 65° right now and tomorrows high will be only 64.

I was supposed to be off work at 3 today but a coworker called in sick. It was just me and my manager all day and she said I could still leave at 3 if I wanted, but I decided to stay til 5 to close with her in case it got busy. This guy came in just after 3, so if I had left at 3, I would have missed him. I was so shocked that I couldn't think straight for the rest of the day!
