Wake up Wednesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Wake up Wednesday

Postby BarbaraRose » Wed Sep 16, 2020 10:28 am

Good morning gals! Got up early this morning to clean up the house a bit and move things away from beneath the AC units so the guy can get at them easier. Both units stayed on all night. Just waiting for him to get here now.

Last night I checked my unemployment status to see if I have gotten any deposits lately. They have been way behind and I have only gotten $300 over the past month or more. Was getting anxious about that. Then this morning I had an email from them. Just got a deposit for $2500! Yay!! Heading to the bank today and will put that in my savings account to replenish that. What a relief!!

Nothing too big planned for today. Will probably work on my gourd for awhile.

Clear with no wind for now. Just brown haze near the mountains. It is amazing how far the smoke has traveled across the country! And Sally made landfall last night. Martha, have you gotten anything from that? I know it is a ways east of you.

Have a good day and stay safe!!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Let Wednesday Come

Postby BirdbyBird » Wed Sep 16, 2020 10:35 am

I had my morning tea long ago.

The Roadtrek is back in the driveway at least for awhile. Journey today is off to get a new van battery and a battery disconnect put in.

The dogs are enjoying the fall coolness outside but are now inside wrestling.

I will attempt to see if the curtains I made actually fit the rig and wait until 1pm to jump on the internet and get Jane's dog show entry completed before the limited entry numbers are reached. What few shows are in states and venues that are allowing them to go on with size stipulations, are filling up quickly. We are getting professional handlers driving in from the east because they can't find enough shows on the east coast for the dogs they have.....

Keep being safe out there.....stay healthy as you can.

Morning! I'm sitting here waiting on the mobile rv tech who was to be here by 10. On it's only 10:04 and he's usually pretty good with times, but I do have to go back to the store and sooner is better than later.

Oh well. Today's slightly cooler with a high only of 70 or so, then back up again. I'm not used to hit September's here . Strange. At least we're back to cool nights, sometimes needing a bit of heat in the mornings.

And that's all the excitement in my life right now. 12 days to closing the store !

You are very wise to take it slow with making decisions. Study your options.
Interesting, Tina about the dog handlers coming west.
Martha, following Sally and wondering if it will effect you. Hope not!

We didn't get anything from Sally. It's a little breezy. It clouded up a couple of times yesterday but never did rain. New Orleans lucked out. They would probably have had flooding with two feet of rain.

I went to town yesterday but forgot half of what I went to town for. :( I'm trying to decide whether to go today or not. If I fool around long enough I will be out of the mood.

I want to get a flu shot but don't want to go to the walk in clinic. I guess I could get one at Walmart since I go there anyway but they are always so busy. My hand is still going to sleep.

My AC guy showed up to check on the issue I am having. He did find a loose screw connection on the main unit. We' ll see if that fixes it, altho I am not holding my breath. The inside units turn off randomly and not at the same time, so not sure how one connection outside could affect both of them at different times. He replaced the siding where the old AC unit went partly under the house. Just have to sand and paint that once the weather cools off. It is hot today at 115*.

Karen, let me know how things are up around Cottage Grove as far as smoke, etc. My friend Candiss bought a house in Riverstone Mobile Home Park just south of town there right along the I-5. We plan to head up there in two weeks, so hopefully things will be better by then.

Martha, glad you got missed this time.

Beth, the countdown continues!

Woke to glorious sunshine and almost blue skies! Humidity up at 57% and AQI 69, with not much breeze. Sure hope this means firefighters have a better day for getting fires under control. Sure better for my lungs, for sure. Maybe can get car cleaned now.
I have Bowen theraoy in the afternoon and hope to load my stuff for GoodWill later, so can get rid of it tomorrow. More space to sort stuff.
I'd like to get my hair trimmed a little, but all our salons went belly up that are close by. Have to start searching.
I don't feel a year older, but my body sure will do better with our Curves reopening. But, they can only habe 5 at a time every 30 min, so it's tough to get a appointment at moment. It will take probably 2-3 months to get back to my previous fitness level.
Barbara, I sure hope they figure out what's wrong with that AC system of yours. It's aggravating enough how much they cost, but then to not have it work right?!
Hope the dog shows go well. I haven't been to watch in years. Husband was a cat person, so we haven't owned a dog as a family, while I grew up with dogs. And my current cats haven't given me permission to get one, plus I'm not sure I want the work.
Have a great day everyone.

Afternoon, nice cool temps on the island. Martha, glad Sally missed you. My local hospital has Ask a Nurse free phone cal. If you have access to something similar, call and ask about your tingling hands. Never hurts to ask. Had a miserable night, jumping out of bed with leg cramps because I had a doctor appointment, dressed nice, put on shoes. Been stuck inside and barefoot so legs did not like shoes. :( Doesn’t take much for this body to complain about something. Be safe

Had a nice drive up the freeway to Cottage Grove. My friend just wanted to look but decided that town just really wasn't for her. Barbie it was really really smoky AQI was 407 there we are 296 now here in Grants Pass. Sure hope you get your AC straightened out.

Martha, Carpal tunnel can make your hands go numb too. They have wrist braces for that, if really bad ....surgery.

Emma is sound asleep on the bed right now as she didnt sleep a wink on our morning journey. My friend brought her dog too and they were both awake the entire time.

Hi ladies!

I tried posting earlier but since I'm using Steve's old laptop and the backspace doesn't work, I can't nmake any corrections, so please excuse the typos.

We are in Townsend GA and have had LOTS of rain from Sally. Tomorrow we are going to Ocala to put our motorhome in shop for a few things. Hopefully we'll be in webster in a few days.

Karen, it's good hearing from you! To all of those that have been posting, I would like to reply to each of you individually, but since my computer died and we have to wait to get into larger towns to get another, this is as good as it gets right now. ut I have a roof over my head and clothes in my closet, so life is good.

I had carpal tunnel surgery. It was not bad, but it took a long time before I could put much weight on that wrist. Lesson learned--buy a couple of front hooking bras because you will never be able to reach behind you right after surgery!!

I was up very late last night with my moth problem. Usually I get only one that shows up after I get into bed and am relaxed, but last night I had two, plus a fly and some other bug!! And honestly, I have not left doors or windows open. I think they come in around the slides. Anyway, I got one fly and one moth and went back to bed. Then the second ones showed up and the moth was really flying crazily. It took me a long time to sizzle him with the electric wand. Really is miserable to get into bed and relax and then have to get out to chase bugs!!

And Barbie, could your problem be your thermostat? Did I ask you about that before? That is something you can replace yourself and only costs about $50.

Headed out for a walk now. Don't want to wait too long until bugs come out. A lot of gnats the other day because I waited until almost sunset. Air quality is not too bad here, at least.

I remember when I was pregnant with my second child that my hands would go numb and tingle it got so bad that when I wrote out a check (remember those days?? :?) I had to have the clerk fill it out and then I would sign it... the dr said that it was carpel tunnel I thought he was a quack never had the problem never heard of it after she was born it went away till many years later and I had both of them operated upon got to know who my friends were really quick  not something that I would recommend at all now... one learns from experience for sure
one needs to get out of this lazy mode as I have stuff to do and not many weeks to accomplish it all... did do some Swedish Weave garbage taken care of and a load of wash done couldn't figure out why I had water on the floor cleaned it up and later had some pooling in my flip flops just didn't make sense at all... so put the gal jugs I keep water in for the birds and to fill the outside water dish and proceeded to fill them found where the water was coming from.... hole the bucket  so as I proceeded to squish it so it would take up less room in garbage it fell apart...guess sun rot got it... :? need to go home find something to fix for supper think the soup I bought at walmart will work ... in the produce in the cooler there is some good soup some by Panara and some by market place also salads ect not tried their sandwiches though... but like the salads as well as the soup and the lemonade. put a new battery in the computer actually using it not plugged in never been able to do that (it was used) and tonight it hasn't gotten hot although last night it did enough that the fan came on...
well think I've rattled on long enough

Don't you know there is another area in the Gulf they are watching. They don't know which way it will go. I'm ready for 2020 to be over. I hope it doesn't mess up our campout next week.

Since my hand started bothering me after Hurricane Laura I probably did something picking up stuff before the storm and cleaning up after. I know my bad shoulder is sure complaining. Surgery for anything would be the last resort for me. I won't even go to a doctor's office now.

Sheila, I got a roll of toilet paper out of the cabinet in the bathroom and it was damp. I had a jug of distilled water for the iron in the cabinet and it had a pin hole in it. It only got 3 rolls damp. When I found it I was afraid my roof was leaking from the hurricane.

My new Vivofit hasn't been motivating me to do much walking. It took me a few try's to get it connected to my computer. The only directions were to sync it to a smart phone. I don't have a smart phone. They need to put a sheet that is instructions for dummies with all this new stuff. I don't want something that does 10 things. I keep getting messages from my vet wanting me to download an app on my phone. My phone is so old most of the time it won't update. I don't need to be connected to the vet's office.

They are finally about to get the mosquitoes under control. I have heard the plane go over a couple of nights and the spray truck has passed several times.

No law says you have to reach behind to hook bra; just hook it in front and then turn it around.
