Holiday werkend

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Holiday werkend

Postby PeggyinCT » Sat Sep 05, 2020 7:36 am

Good morning Everybody, it’s going to be a glorious start to the holiday weekend here in CT; sunny and warm.
Martha, my figs are ripening! I won’t have enough to preserve, but there are 73 figs on the little tree to eat and share with neighbors.
Today I am going to cut the basil and make pesto. That’s about it for my holiday plans; no gtgs. Keep smiling and washing.

Morning Peggy and All, Dew point was very low this am so drove back to the old neighborhood and took a walk. Didn’t take long to lose the stamina I built from previous walking. Traffic was light so maybe beach goers decided it’s safer at home, sure hope so. Placed an Amazon order of little odds and ends. Will be a surprise because I have already forgotten what I ordered. Be safe

Good morning Peggy, Shirl & everyone that checks in.

Peggy, it's going to be a nice Labor Day weekend in MD, too, as Shirl mentioned with the low dew point.

Our pickup truck has been delivered to Ocala, so it will be waiting on us when we get there next week. The truck was picked up a day earlier than we were told and it was delivered this morning, not on Tuesday as we were told. So we and our friend in Ocala had lots of changes in our schedules due to the unexpected delivery. But it all worked out.

Crab imperial, salad and devilled eggs will be our dinner this evening. There will be plenty if anyone would like to join us.

Whenever I order from Amazon, I never remember what I ordered by the time I get it (even in 2 days! ) so I am always excited to open it up and see what it is! It is like Christmas for me!

It is going to be a really HOT (98 degree) day today, but the campground is very quiet. It is a very nice city campground with very large spots and paved patios. What I do and don't like are the tall cement curbs at each site. I like them because they look very nice and make the landscaping look neater, but I was very glad to have the camp host guide me in (drove in forward in this site) because I am always worried about scraping a tire on a sharp curb. Anyway, RV park is between a small city park and the playground of an elementary school. Full hookup also, and cost with senior and Good Sam discount is only $21 per night, so I am here a week.

Cooling off tomorrow and the rest of the week, but in the meantime, I have one of my AC ducts blowing directly on me!

Unfortunately, no laundry, so I think I will have to schedule a commercial campground somewhere in the Salt Lake CIty area in a couple of weeks as I head south. Expensive, but I don't want to use a commercial laundromat.

I kind of liked werkend.

It made me think it might be something Miley Cyrus might like to try.

108 degrees here!!!! I thought it was warmer than usual, but had no idea it was that bad.

Son's family went camping so DD & SIL are staying at their house pet-sitting. I spent most of the day over there visiting with them. Now back home - need to get my place back in order & ready for another week of 'Grandma's daycare'. :D

I liked 'werkend' too.

Last time I looked, it was 111 here. Velda, how hot was it where you are? I'm afraid to ask Barbie how hot is was where she lives. :o

122* here today! :o

That would be "twerkend"!

The 4 hours I worked today felt more like 8+, for some reason. Was glad to get out of there tonight!

There are a couple of new fires out here. One just east of San Diego, and one east of LA, near where the last big fire was last month, but this one is much closer to large communities, so a lot of evacuations happening.

My milk I just bought the other day was spoiled this morning. After work, I decided to check the liquor store down the street from me to see if they might carry other beverages. They had a cooler with milk! So I bought some. I live a block away so hopefully it didn't get too warm before I got it home. Hopefully, it will last until just before I leave next weekend.

We only got to 98 here today. And crazy SD weather is continuing.. Monday's high is predicted low 50's and into the 20's overnight. Rain all day, turning to snow as it cools down. Colder Tuesday (high only to be 40), then starts warming up again Thursday and back to the 70's on Friday. We'll have a taste of winter.

I'm wanting y to head to Wisconsin and see my sister when I leave here. It all depends on the weather. I guess it'll have to be a last minute decision!

Peggy, you can always edit your original post to change the heading. But I think we all liked that typo.

Beth, what a drastic change in your weather!! Almost a 50 degree change in 2 days! That would be a shock to the system! :o One time while living in Denver, a front came thru and dropped the temps from 82 to 36 in half an hour! We had 6 inches of snow by that evening!

never looked to see what the high was (I am in Salt Lake City) but was suppose to get to a 100 guess I won't complain... on Tues it's suppose to drop to 66 I think I saw a big drop anyway... my dd and sil have been painting I am suppose to take care of the infant who didn't want to sleep he is 5 months or there about think he got perhaps 2 hours of sleep and 1 of that was in the car :o ...his daddy is trying to get him to sleep and dd is painting the fireplace it looks really nice will see in the day time if touch ups have to be made...
A/C is going have my jacket on
when I left Idaho yesterday the weather person was saying that the high was going to be 96 I think in Idaho Falls 88 in Jackson which doesn't sound high but for that area and it's Sept it was high and even had a heat advisory out for the area...
I had talked myself into using this start of an afghan as a scarf but dd likes it likes the way the pattern is going and found me some more yarn so I have enough to finish or will when I pick it up... so now to finish it would really like to do so before I leave for Q so I don't have to mail it... I think if I waited it would be to small he is a big boy
you all have a good night
