September 1 Roll Call

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Well, I was feeling rather pleased at remembering to say Rabbits, until I read Karen's post and realized it was yesterday I said it. Maybe we will get some benefit for being close.
The pan that I burned yesterday is not going come clean, I have never had anything burn like that so it was impossible to remove, another is on it's way from Amazon. I found my little crock pot, it is old and doesn't have a temperature setting so not sure if it will be ok to use for applesauce. My neighbor made apple butter in her crock pot. The recipe called for it to be cooked for 12 hours. She shared an it is the best I've ever had so nowI want to try it.
The dogs were so quite this morning I asked DH if he thought something was wrong with them, and then the garbage truck came!
I hope everyone has a good month whether you remembered to say the magic word or not!!

Even remembered to say rabbits this morning!! Or at least this noon, but since I did not speak to anyone earlier, I think it counts. Yesterday was cloudy and chilly, but today is fairly calm and supposed to be a high of 76--perfect bike riding weather, so I have the battery charging and as soon as I eat breakfast/lunch will be going out to explore this campground.

Panicked yesterday morning because I thought I had to open my new class so students could read the syllabus, but then got an email saying I had until the 9th. Whew. Still got to finish this one, but at least everything is ready for the 9th, I think.

I am a bit worried because my Ohio grandkids are fully in school now for a couple of weeks. They even take the bus, although my son says buses are almost empty. 15% of kids are going online and a lot of the rest are being driven to school by parents. Still a concern. CA kids are 100% virtual. Teachers and admins are in school buildings, but kids are home.

My neighbor had an appointment in Lafayette this morning so she gave me a ride to go pick up my car. I'm still waiting for them to call about the motorhome. I went to Walmart on the way home. I got there at 9:20 and got out of there at 11:15. I had to get someone to help me find something twice. I get tired of them moving things around. There were only 2 registers open and long lines. They don't know how much I wanted to leave my basket and just walk out. They had a guy working the register for the line I was in. Every time someone had fruits or vegetables he had to ask the other cashier about them.

I know Peggy, why would I buy a red beans and rice kit. lol Someone had cooked one at a camp potluck and her's was good.

Cheryl, if you go to Livingston let me know. I have been a member of Escapees for years and never camped in Livingston. My sister is wanting to go to Toledo Bend Lake which is kind of up that way.

Velda, one of the reason's I never joined Curves was because they wanted to draft my checking account and wouldn't take any other payment. I had two other companies draft money from my account and I had to close the accounts to make them stop. I would tell the bank not to pay them and it didn't do any good. Every month I would have to go into the bank and make them reverse the charge.

I'm trying to decide if I want to put on old clothes and start cleaning again. The temperature is only 93 but the heat index is over 100. I might wait until later. We are suppose to have a cold front next week and have temperatures in the 50's. That would sure be nice now.

Martha, I was afraid of ordering Walmart pick up but so glad I did. I order about every two weeks. The young people wearing their masks come out put my order in back of suv. They have been pleasant and polite. Let their young legs to the walking up and down the aisles. :D

Shirl, I probably need to try the pick up before I blow a gasket at Walmart. I get the feeling I'm going to pass out in walmart before this mess is over.

Martha, I feel your pain. I told Sam’s moving things didn’t make me buy more just made me mad as h$&#. My family now texts me when they go to Sams. I give them my order and they even put items in the back of the suv. They are pleasant and polite too. Lol I am now drinking a cup of Liptons Stress Less tea, think it is helping.

Good afternoon! I just lost my post so will just keep this short with good news. I always set my alarm for midnight to make sure I say 'rabbits' before I talk to myself or the TV. :D

The big news came this morning - I will be getting off the road next May or maybe a little sooner! I have leased a 2 bedroom apartment that is under construction. It is perfect in Leavenworth, Washington, a beautiful Bavarian Village town in Eastern Washington. 7 miles from my daughter. I have seen their other complexes nearby and they are very well done.

Good to see so many posts. I spent time on the phone with my BFF and have not had breakfast yet at 1:30!

Everyone continue to be safe and well!

Hi Anita.

I'll have to check out Leavenworth, I think. The smoke problem here has gone on for weeks, and doesn't look like it will be clearing up anytime soon, with fires still burning. And, without doubt, probably more to come. Every summer is like this now, it seems. Weeks of smoke and ashfall, and too hot to go outside and do anything anyway.

Temps here at my house look like they will again be hovering in the 110 range again later in the week. Sheesh. It's September already, for crying out loud!!

I practically live on Realtor.com and Zillow, have been doing some serious looking in Klamath Falls for the last couple of years, but have never found anything that fired me up enough to want to sign on the dotted line.

If I found the "right place", (I think  ) I would be off like a shot. Sue, I know that you commented about the smoke and ash we are having here a few days ago, if I can find your post again I will respond.

Martha, so far I doubt I'll be staying at the SKP CG. Stayed in it the first year, Onalaska KOA, the second year and Livingston Lake SP last year. Depending on how long I stay I'll probably go to the state park (for a week or so) or KOA again (for a month). I'm planning on being that way in December sometime if you're thinking about coming up.

Congratulations Anita. Sounds like a perfect fit for you. I searched for some pictures of Leavenworth and it looks like a beautiful village in a beautiful area.

My poor aching feet! And lower back!

We opened today and were slammed all day! I didn't get lunch until after 3pm. We closed at 5 after turning away several people at 4:45 when we already had a half hour wait yet. We didn't get done cutting until abou 5:15. So glad I have tomorrow off! After 6 weeks of laying around, my body is not used to standing and twisting all day long! I made about $70 in tips (cash. Not sure about credit card tips). I didn't even check to see how many haircuts I did but I figure about 18 at least.

Anita, congrats on your new apartment! I am sure you are excited to get moved in once it it ready.

Martha, I know what you mean about stores rearranging their stuff! I hate it when they do that. I have better things to do than wander around the store looking for things I used to be able to find right away. I can't imagine how it can be profitable for them to spend all the money to remodel and rearrange the stores like that.

I should eat some dinner but I am too tired to get up on my feet to go make something! I am sure I will be getting to bed early tonight. I could fall asleep right now but it isn't even 7pm yet so it is a little too early.

Have a good night!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

you all know what I am doing basically nothing unless it is reading or sleeping or hand work
need to figure out what to do on this pattern most pattern's put repeat rows xx till xx but this one doesn't it's like it stopped and I am missing a good part of the pattern... think I've decided that I will get different yarn for when I make this for the baby as I would need to pick up 7-8 more skeins of yarn... think what I am doing right now will end up being a scarf if I ever figure out what the next steps are..think I know what the next two rows should be after that..... there is a yarn shop in Jackson might stop by and take the pattern with me and see what they suggest...

and it begins I was thinking yesterday with it being so cold that maybe I ought to leave sooner than later... then my mind shifts to thinking about going a different route we will decide one day but betting on going the normal route...
