Weary Wednesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Weary Wednesday

Postby BarbaraRose » Wed Aug 12, 2020 1:06 pm

I started taking some new vitamins and suppliments and am getting some side effects. I was totally wired last night with my mind doing zoomies and wasn't able to get to sleep until around 5:30 this morning! Will have to figure out which one did that (probably the one I started last night!) and take it in the mornings instead. I sure could use that energy during the day! I am sure there is a nap in my future today!

Stopped at WM yesterday and was so sweaty while in there that my mask was sticking to my face! I probably was having a hot flash and sure wasn't comfortable!

Still having issues with my crazy windshield wipers! They just randomly come on and I can't get them to turn off! Will have to stop at my mechanic shop when it happens again and see if they can figure out why that is happening. Very annoying!

I did watch a You Tube video yesterday and figured out how to remove the drain plug from my bathroom sink. Turns out it was full of hair and icky stuff!. Once I had that out, the water drained just fine. I think I will keep it out and just buy a little strainer type thing to put on there to catch the hair, etc. I never need to close the drain to hold water anyways. It is an odd looking drain plug with lots of nooks and crannies so I can see how stuff gets stuck to it and plugs up the water.

Hope you all have a good day and stay clear of terechos, haboobs, and oddly named storms!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

I got a early wake up call, the Eye consultants office, calling to have their LASIK consultant see me. I see her September 14. I looked her up and seems pretty highly regarded, so hope she can fix this mess.
Headed to a hot day and very Hot week ahead, reaching 105-108 several days. Thankfully we don't have to go anywhere and can stay in AC.
Did my Curves online video workout and had shower, so ready to go in spite fact that I only got 4 1/2 hours sleep .
Wishing all a pleasant day.

Having a great morning here, slightly cloudy so keeping the temp in the higher 70's. BUT going to hit us hard this weekend 104-107 geez I hate it when it gets that hot.

Just puttering around the house today. Our park managers wife called me to see if I would check on her hubby. His BP was high and he just wasnt feeling great. So I donned my mask and walked up there. BP was settling down, pulse was up but regular and his O2 sat was 92. Encouraged him to take some deep breaths and we took his BP a few more times and it became normal. He will just take it easy today. He does lots of my work around the house (and lots of other residents) and is a super nice fellow. His wife works in our office a couple afternoons a week and I swear she was way more anxious than he was ha ha but reassured them and he was feeling better by the time I left. So got my nurse duties done for today ha ha

I wanted to mow this afternoon but it's clouding up and will probably rain. With my experience with clouds and lightening I am staying in the house. I got too hot this morning unhooking the truck and trailer and have a headache. I bought a pair of pliers to leave in the truck because I need them to unhook the trailer. They have already disappeared. One of the truck tires was low so aired up the two tires on the passenger side. I'll work on the other side when it cools off.

When I was wandering around Walmart yesterday I saw a Marie Callender's dinner I had never seen before It's Turkey & Stuffing Thanksgiving Pie. I don't think I'll be buying that again, it's mostly mashed potatoes. I was trying to find something Mexican in the frozen section but there isn't much. Banquet use to have a Mexican dinner but I haven't been able to find that lately. I want Mexican food and don't want to go to a restaurant. I'm not sure how Mexican take out would be. I guess I could go to Taco Bell or Taco Hell as my son calls it.

I was looking on line for Roman shades and they want about $200 for a new one. I guess that wouldn't be too bad since the one I have is about 15 years old.

Martha, I get fajitas from our local Mexican restaurant but then it is only two miles from the house and stuff is still warm enough. I get a dinner and a reheated lunch the next day from one meal.....

Lark and I went kayaking again today and got back to the car before it got two hot.....the cloud cover and the occasional breezes also figured into the success of the plan. I almost useed Nan's method of getting out of my Hornbeck because there was no sand or soft earth at this particular boat ramp. Hornbecks really don't like rocks and concrete. I let Lark out on shore and finally figured out a way to stabilize the kayak near the end of the ramp dock with enough water for me to step out into an allow my knees to lift my butt up without crunching any sensitive hulls. Holding ( or was that hauling?) on to the supports of the dock didn't hurt either.

Hoping to get to sleep at a decent hour tonight, before midnight! Never did get a nap in today.

The Apple fire is almost contained now but there is a new fire about 50 miles north of LA in the mountains that started around 4pm and by 6pm was already at 6000 acres burned! It is raging out of control due to extremely dry conditions, high heat, low humidity and wind. Tonight it is about 11000 acres and still raging. Luckily no communities in it's path right now. I always feel so bad for all the wildlife that are caught in those fires.

We are in another excessive heat warning with temps between 115* and 120* for at least the next week or two. It feels a little more humid out today too. If I could get up earlier when it isn't so hot, I could get more outside stuff done. But I don't see that happening anytime soon.

The hair salons are going to the governor to try and get their businesses reopened. Not sure if he will go along with that just yet, altho he does seem to cave under pressure at times. I still haven't heard anything about my unemployment money yet. Will check again tomorrow. They owe me for a whole month now, from July 13th.

Gonna read for a bit and then try to get to sleep shortly.
