Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Monday

Morning All, Still sunny and hot. Getting ready to batten down in anticipation of storm/hurricane. Going to move everything off the balcony. Prediction is storm will travel up the bay which will mean major flooding. Not sure if I will stay here on the island or go to daughter. I’m safe on the second floor but loss of power is always a concern. Be safe

Cheryl, such a sad story about losing your Mom. My Mom died many years ago, and I still miss her. I find things I would like to talk to her about even today. Big hugs to you. Love you, Lyn

I sure miss my mom too!

Lola and I are still hanging out in bed. I didn't get to sleep until around 3:30 am. I am getting more and more like my mom that way.

I posted pics of last nights sunset, etc on yesterday's MC. I also found some seashells in the desert! Check them out :D .

I want to drop off the food I have for the local food shelf today and also stop at the library to pick up a couple books on hold.

The Apple fire is heading over the mountain and towards a valley with several towns and a marine base, near Joshua Tree NP, just north of here. Hope they get it under control before it gets that far! So far the fire has only destroyed one home and no injuries yet.

Shirley, stay safe and leave if you need to!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

I forgot Rabbits and Roll Call. I didn't open my computer all weekend. We had fun but was hot. I hadn't been to Grand Isle in 25 years. I remember camping near the beach and being able to see the Gulf. After Katrina they built a levee so you have to hike a 1/4 mile to get to the beach. I had the usual problems I have in the summer, not enough electricity. I have an electric only water heater and I couldn't run the water heater and the air conditioner at the same time. It was one or the other. Since my breaker had tripped several times I was afraid to leave Sugar for very long. Some were crabbing but only got 2 dozen in two days so we bought more crabs and some shrimp and had a boil Saturday. They got me a Turtle Ice Cream Cake. it was so good. Five of us stayed until today. My inspection sticker expired Friday so when I got back to Abbeville I got my RV inspected and filled up with gas. I'm ready to go again.

I decided to mow before it rains again. The grass was getting long.
