Rabbits Roll Call

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Rabbits Roll Call

Postby Colliemom » Sat Aug 01, 2020 6:49 am

Morning everyone. Time for our monthly check in. Hope we hear from some of you who have been AWOL, new members who haven’t posted, and those who make their monthly reports etc., let us know you are okay, and what’s new if anything.

I can use some Rabbits luck this month as it’s been one of those weeks, where if anything is going to go wrong, it will. First my refrigerator quit cooling like it should. Had repair service out, needed a new part, then once that was put in, discovered the fan which blows cold air from freezer to refrigerator needs replacing too. Still waiting on that getting done  So it’s been living out of the cooler for past week and a half. Fortunately the freezer is working, but icing up a bit due to fan not working right. I put my frozen stuff over in neighbors garage freezer as wanted to shut mine down and let it defrost and clean fridge. So run over there when I need something from freezer. Then Sunday night my internet modem upped and quit. So had cable company out to replace it on Wednesday. Don’t realize how much you rely on it till you don’t have it. But tech checked my system to make sure everything was runniNg properly, installed new modem and then also put new connections up on the pole and ran a new cable from top of the pole to the ground and put new connections on that end as well. I have underground utilities. So now my internet speeds are up to their 100 mbps where they should be :D And Piper has a UTI which doesn’t seem to want to go away  So as a result of all this, I cancelled my camping trip that I was supposed to go on this weekend. Will reschedule, no big deal.

Today I am going to try and get a P sample from Piper, so I can run it up to the vet and have them check it again. No cooperation yesterday. I think I will go down and visit with my friends for a while.

So that’s the excitement around here at the moment. I hope you are all have a nice day stay safe out there.

Good morning to All. I got up a little earlier for me just before 6 thinking I'd take a walk - it was already 90 out. It is 15 to 8 right now and temp is 94! - going up to about 113 today. Bill is always cold so thermostat in house is set at 83. At least all the work from the flood in the house is done. all new flooring, New cabinets and counters in laundry room and hall, new paint and doors on kitchen cabinet. New microwave - no it didn't get flooded but old discovered old one was wired in such a way we were lucky to not have had a fire. Had workers in and out for over a month. All wore masks and so far so good. Yesterday I rearranged a couple of kitchen cabinets and mopped all the new flooring and dusted everything to get rid of construction dirt and dust. So today taking it easy. Oh, I also made some breaded zucchini chips in the air fryer. Used two nice sized zucchinis and Bill ate all but four slices!~ guess he liked them. Today might try some eggplant. I've made two meals in it one turned out fantastic, beginners luck - salmon and potato wedges. Then made another chicken breasts and sweet potato fries - both were not edible. Humbled me quickly.
Went to doctor on Wednesday - my blood pressure was sky high - I think it was from the construction, the heat and the being stuck home. For a while there I felt angry all the time. That is wearing off since we now have beautiful flooring and a beautiful kitchen and no more workers here. It was down quite a bit yesterday.
Guess we won't be doing any traveling this summer. Have more doctor appointments and a few more things to be done on the house - just some upgrades I want. Maybe if it cools down somewhere close we can get away for a couple of weeks.
So far no one we know has caught the virus. Praying they don't. One kid just moved to Florida - but he was in California so not much different. Hope all of you are staying safe and watching the weather. Weird year.
And that is about it for us.

I think I said rabbits first thing. Nothing to report but wanted to check in. Plan to have a laid back day today.

August All Ready! Time is flying. Gads, Sue. You have been .having too many troubles lately. I was disappointed a few days ago when I thought the trailer was sold. Then for some reason they changed their minds at the last minute.
My daughters sig. other, flew to Alaska for a fishing trip. Came home with 150 lbs of various fish. We have had King Salmon, and Rock Fish so far. It has been delicious!
I traded my truck for a little car. Just wanted something to run around town. What a sad happening it is to know my traveling days are over. I did last until I was 88 years old, and had several years of wonderful traveling and meeting very nice and interesting people.
My lungs are not getting any worse. I do exercise 4/5 days per week. The swim pool remains open, thank heavens.
I am enjoying my reading, and watch a little TV. Enjoy reading the FORUM every day. Go out on the scooter to view what is going on in the neighborhood.
That is it for my monthly report.

How did it get to be August!! It does seem as though time is passing even faster than usual or is that because I'm getting older! After a long spell of heat and humidity it has cooled off here and of course it is raining too much. But I like it better than the heat. I don't know how you stand 122 degrees Barbie! Our county has had a spike in cases in spite of more people here being wiling to wear a mask. It is strange when you go just a few miles to the next county hardly anyone wears them even though their cases are also going up. Ours is larger area and includes the University and kids are starting to come back. Most restaurants who re opened have closed mostly due to employees testing positive but many just because they feel it is too risky. The grade schools and the high school both decided to have only online classes. I had the women who clean come back once but since this spike will cancel for awhile. I pay them anyway because they are young and one is putting herself through college. I worry about her as her health seems fragile and she is one semester from getting her degree in accounting. I wish she would drop out for a semester but hopefully some of her classes will be offered online. So many hard decision for younger people. I was one of the many across several states who received a pre-paid debit credit card for unemployment! If I ever signed up it was in the sixties or early 70's It was some type of new program that had a defect and several states used the program and what a mess. No one knows what to tell us to do except not to activate it. I of course wouldn't but I am curious as to how much it is worth. Some have been worth thousands !!Our congressman got one from CA and from Illinois and he never signed up in either state. The only advise so far is to do a credit freeze at the 3 main companies and call the IDES and tell them! HA you can't get through, I did leave an email message. So I put it all away to await tax season because it will probably be reported.
This is where I spend a lot of time. Fortunately she doesn't seem to mind and at the usual time goes and stands by the table. I put a chair beside it and she jumps on it and then on to the table. She is able to jump from the floor but I'd rather she use the chair because the little ones watch.I don't want them flying off the table thinking if she does it they can. She is a big dog!!

Wow, another month gone! I remembered rabbits this morning so hopefully it’ll be a good month! Sue, you had a week you didn’t need! And you haven’t had much luck with any trips this summer. Hope pup recovers soon. Glad I got one good trip in and have reservation for Benezette next month so hoping for the best that it’ll happen! Can’t complain about our temps here! I think we’re over the worst of the high temps. Maybe a few more this month but then again we’ve been in winter coats by the end of the month before too! Sandi, I pulled out my spray bottle of the Wash Wax All and waxed the front of my refrigerator the other day. Not sure why I didn’t do it sooner! I do use it on Lola too! Pretty sure you recommended it awhile ago. Carol, glad you can get your house back together again! Those projects aren’t easy to deal with sometimes. After reading about the high temps you all out west are dealing with I’m a bit ashamed of myself for complaining about ours here! And I hope all of you in the path of this incoming storm stay safe. Lyn, glad your lungs are doing well and you can swim. Tina, congrats on your new to you RT.
I drove over to Centre Hell last night and had a burger from a roadside trailer place. They smoke the burger and it was as good as my friends said it was! I got the small half pounder and it meant after it was cooked! Needless to say I couldn’t finish it all! I’ve passed it but never thought to stop on my way out to the fair. Definitely will go back again! They are only open Friday and Saturday and only in the summer months. So two for one last night, a good meal and Rascal and I got out for a nice ride. And even got a little walk in! He would have tramped through the bean field but figured that wasn’t a great idea! So we stayed on the little lane! Then a visit with friends hosting at the fairgrounds camping. A busy week end there with a horse event going on. Fun to see all the fancy rigs parked all around. So that’s about it for me right now. Not much new going on. Just pretty much the same and trying to stay safe and well. Have a good day and hope you find something to smile about today.

Good afternoon ladies! There's nothing new here but we're keeping an eye on the hurricane. It should be here Tuesday but hoping it will have lost its strength by the time it gets. We're both well and looking forward to leaving for Florida.

Good morning gals! Lola and I are just hanging out in bed. I did say rabbits last night right after midnight. I said it so loud that Lola jumped! Just wanted to make sure the Universe heard me say it!

There were two fires burning east of LA yesterday that merged together and now that one large fire has burned almost 2000 acres and is 0% contained. The wind and excessive heat isn't helping things any. I can smell the smoke from here.

Almost done reading about my new camera. Not sure if I will be able to get outside at all to try some photos today. I also have the GPS to learn about. That one has a lot of bells and whistles so will take a bit longer to figure out (I am not very tech-savvy).

I do need to get out and buy some Propel water and a couple things today. I might stop at the laundry room on the way out with my laundry and get that going. Am running out of clean clothes to wear.

I sure hope I get my unemployment pretty soon. I can use the money in my savings to pay bills until I get it but I did sign up a couple weeks ago so it should be coming soon. They should be a little more organized this time around. Altho hearing about people getting debit cards that never applied for unemployment, is a little disturbing!

Still need to do more searching for dental insurance. Some I checked on yesterday don't cover much, especially crowns, and ones that do have a one year waiting period. Will keep looking.

Lynn, am glad you got a couple great trips in with your camper the last year or so. Good memories to keep you going! Am glad you got a smaller, more manageable vehicle to drive. Will be easier for getting around the city and parking. Glad to hear too, that your lungs are not getting worse. Your exercising is working for you. :D

Happy August!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Good morning ladies,
4 minutes left of the morning here. Made it to Alberta in early June, and quarantined for 14 days.
Have been keeping busy, getting the yards spruced up. I am happy that the perennials that I planted last year are doing well. One never knows how plants will overwinter here.
Went camping with friends this past week. It was great to get away and relax.
I will be minding "the lovelies" 2 granddaughters 6 and 7 on Sunday evening, so that daughter and son- in- law will get a night out.

Everyone here is happy and healthy. Covid has been under control here. New mandatory mask restrictions are now in place, which makes sense as other restrictions are slowly being lifted.
Keep safe and healthy everyone.
Happy August.

Check in time. I will spare you the details but did spend a day run in around getting the title for the RoadTrek transferee after taking it to the local Chevy dealer to complete the required form to verify the VIN number. Also stood in line to get the plates transferred.... twice. Since I had to go back to the title office and have them correct the new title. I said RV but apparently when the computer checks the VIN number it thinks Chevy express van. The error did not involve loss of blood or oxygen and well I am retired. It just took longer. I have an appointment with my mechanic and need to set up an appointment with m RV man to check out her systems. I may not repair or fix everything right away. Pace myself. Lark and Jane have been on more woods rambles and Lark took me on a recent kayak paddle to help me relax from this selling buying decent past. I second Peggy’s reminders. Ware a mask, wash your hands. .......stay out of those crowded bars..... Stay healthy so that you can check in again next month

Good afternoon Everybody from hot CT... I went camping for a few days this week with my Roadtrek buddies. It was so good to be among friends. We wore our masks and kept a safe distance, and we are all hoping it will be okay.

Tina, welcome to the Roadtrek world. When I went to register mine as a camper the motor vehicle person told me it was a pickup truck. She said the computer said it was a pickup truck. I invited her outside to take a look and she quickly registered it as a camper van!

Keep smiling under your mask and washing your hands. Peggy

Peggy I knew from reading the forums that that happens. Luckily the two offices are right next to each other so it was an easy fix. And I also figured one reason the rig rode so stiff. Who ever put on those new tires had t bothered to look at the door and the recommended PSI. Again. I think I had read a similar discussion on one of the forums. So far having fun and enjoying reading a manual that actually describes a real unit. Go Canadians!

Tina, you will need to post pics and update your signature photo. Do the dogs fit OK in the van?

Glad to hear the Wash/Wax All has worked well for you Sharon. I never thought of using it on my refrigerator. Good idea!

As usual, I forgot to say “rabbits” this morning. Not much going on here. I do plan to drive up into the Sierras next week. My parents built a beautiful cabin (by themselves with no electricity for tools) where we spent wonderful days in the summer during my younger years. They sold it when we started building our house. Amazingly it’s still owned by the same family that bought it so many years ago. Last year the area was ravaged by a forest fire and I was never able to find out for sure if it survived. Most information pointed to the fire getting very, very close, but was stopped by firefighters. For a long time after the fire, entrance to the area was restricted to only owners with permits. I just want to make sure it’s still there. My parents would be thrilled as I will be to know it survived.

Guess that’s all for me. Stay safe everyone!
