Good morning. Another hot and muggy day here so mostly inside jobs. Sue, maybe we’ll get some of your cooler temps at some point! A welcome change, for sure. Martha, happy you dodged the storm other then the rain. They apparently upped the drought status for our county so not good news. I did take a ride to the farmer’s market Saturday. Came home with a bunch of fresh produce so I’ll be concentrating on fixing good veggies this week! The corn was definitely better then what I got at the store! It was a fun drive out through the countryside. Love those back roads! I don’t have any appointments or anything this week so happy about that! So will try to be outside a bit but since I’m not a morning person I usually have to wait until late afternoon into evening! Glad it stays light longer! I’ve really been lax with my purging project lately so really need to get back into that! It won’t do itself! Not sure if Salvation Army is doing pick ups yet and not sure of I’m comfortable with having strangers coming into the house yet. Wish I knew where all this stuff came from! )
So that’s about it for my life. I’m getting so tired of having to think two or three times if I should go anywhere but it is what it is, I guess. Have a good day and stay cool and safe.

Sharon, I would sure like to send you some rain. It rained all morning. The radar shows rain all around so will probably get more.

I had to bring Orange Boy for the vet to look in his ear. I have to put drops for another week and bring him back.

I saw an ad on Facebook for Angelino's Gourmet Coffee, had a weak moment and ordered some assorted flavors of Keurig cups. I'm not much of a coffee connoisseur but I can sure tell the difference between their coffee and Folgers. So far, my favorite is Hazelnut. I usually only use my Keurig when I'm camping.

I have been looking for some elastic to fix some shorts that the elastic is not good. Since everyone is making masks Walmart doesn't have any and I don't want to go to Lafayette just for elastic. My neighbor sews, I'll have to ask her if maybe she has some.

On our way to another Hot day in northern California. It was 102 yesterday, and it's already 86 at 11:30. Summer in northern California, pretty typical. Hoping recent thunder storms in Sierras haven't started fires.
We mostly stay here at the house, but I have a Dr recheck to renew my Cpap RX tomorrow and son has dental for filling Thursday. I'm so disappointed my Curves had to close again and I fear it may become a permanent loss to our community, If this goes on much longer.
I read a lot, both paper books and kindle. I love that I can pick up my kindle or my iPad or my phone, and whatever I'm reading updates to where I was when I last picked either device up to read. I'm reading a very interesting autobiography by Barbara of Harlem, at moment, named Escaping the Racism of Low Expectations.
If you own a cat, don't even consider the expensive Littermaid boxes. Our first set lasted over 10 years. We replaced in April 2019, and one already failed ( the switch) and company said no parts, buy a new complete box! So they consider a $100 box disposable! Company has changed hands and is now part of a big company. Not happy. Going to have Handyman see if we can pull the switch and find one that will work. next better rated box is nearly $400 and also has only 1 year warranty but, they have replacement parts.
I have resigned myself to no camping this year, sadly. Just not worth the hassle. I do visit my van and run gen and AC, but would love to get out in nature. At least I have my new decks overlooking my 3/4 acres.

I am particularly concerned about the July Complex Fire. It is threatening an area near and dear to my heart: Lava Beds National Monument and Glass Mountain (on the slopes of the Medicine Lake Volcano). This fire is very near the tiny hamlet of Tionesta, where one of my favorite campgrounds is located (Hawk's Nest).

The Hog fire is burning west of Susanville, very near to Eagle Lake where a wonderful GTG was held a few years back. Anyone planning a trip to Eagle Lake should make inquiries; looking at the map it appears that the fire is burning on both sides of the access road into Eagle Lake.

More lightning storms are predicted for the areas burning above, with possible lightning strikes igniting more wildfires.

Not good.

I don't see myself making any camping trips for the remainder of this year, either.

I wish I could see my little Jayco, but it is in storage, as city ordinance prevents me from keeping it at my home. However, the storage place is enclosed, "Hope" is out of the weather, so I am very thankful for that.

I amuse myself by looking at photos of snowy Mt. Adams volcano. Wish I were there!

Martha, you must spend a fortune on all the stray cats that you have taken in and are now your barn cats. It seems like you are constantly taking one to the vet. Do they give you a discount?? At the least, you should accept donations because you are really running a cat rescue center. Seriously. Gofundme???

I went to pick up my new bike today but decided I need a new bike rack, so I need to take the old one off and go back tomorrow on my way to the coast. They will have it put together and i will hopefully have removed my old rack. It has been on there for 7 years, so keep your fingers crossed!

Very hot today here in Bend, but it will be cool on the coast where I will be for next week.

Good afternoon gals.

Got very little done yesterday. Went to the mailbox before noon and it was so hot, I decided I wasn't about to go across the park to do laundry. We are in the 100-teens again.

Got food poisoning last night and was up half the night with that and some this morning. Not feeling too peppy today so just hanging out in bed perusing the internet and reading with Lola next to me. Lola had the runs this morning too. So we are both a sorry, lazy mess today.

Sorry to hear about all the fires up north. Judy, be careful on your way south thru those areas.

I got my tax refund back last week and it is now in my savings account. Hoping I get my first unemployment check by the 1st
so I can pay my HOA dues and bills with that.

It is still hot here but not like the last couple of days. 98 right now but cloudy and humid. The lightning tracker app on my phone keeps going off, I am surrounded by lightning right now. I have it set to a 20 mile radius. I dont need an app tho, I have a dog hiding under the bed and I have heard nothing........yet. Have had a few small fires started over the last few days but they seem to get them pretty much under control quickly. East of the Cascades here tho has a rather large one on the OR/CA border area. N CA has some too.

Spent the morning making meatballs and a few small meatloaves in my Airfryer. So that is what is for dinner tomorrow, froze the rest. I am having corn on the cob and a salad tonite.

Barbie you sure get food poisoning frequently.....is your refrigerator keeping your food cold enough???

My neighbor is giving me Mary Trumps book to read in the next few days so that should keep me busy. Found a few things on Hulu to watch and see if I like them. I save 20 shows and usually end up with 2 or 3 LOL

Judy, lately it seems like I am at the vet's every Monday. Hopefully it will slow down. Two of my cats are 14 year old and about 8 are 11 years old so I won't have them forever. I just hope no more show up.

Martha, how many indoor and outdoor cats do you have?

And yes, I get food poisoning way too many times (one time is too many! ). I have a sensitive stomach. These are usually frozen dinners I get sick from. My freezer is very cold! My ice cream is hard as a rock! I try to shop, in the summer, at the closest grocery stores and go home right away so as not to let any frozen food thaw at all. Maybe I need to bring a freezer bag to the store with me.

I am very quick to toss things from the fridge that I am not sure about. Just dumped 2/3 full carton of milk today that smelled just a tiny bit off. I also tossed out some cole slaw today that I bought the other day. I had some yesterday and it tasted fine. I tossed it just in case that was the culprit.

tried to organize some of my books not sure if it will work or not but guess we will see... I have been trying to read the series together so tried to place them together... some still have just one book or I have already read them...
my dd and family were going to go camping but changed their mind... which is too bad but one of their sons had to go to the dr for something he has been coughing and came home saying possibly has the virus won't know for a few days in the mean time guess we limit more what we do... I need some milk not sure why but it doesn't seem to stay as good as it used to.... so put a thermometer in the door it doesn't get as cold as the other parts of the fridge... think I will have to rethink my placement of stuff at least till I can have Terry look at it and see if there is an adjustment he needs to make. one of the RV mechanics that used to be in Q passed away this spring so he had been doing Mark's work as well as his own we talked one day in the summer and he was still there oh my!!!
need to go find something to eat our third birthday cake need something more solid than sweets... and need to call my mom tell her I won't be over this week till we know what the score is with gs...we will hope it is only a cold as all he has been doing is coughing..
they did finish the apartment and listed it somewhere it's a rental over a garage.... a really nice apartment

Well, I spoke with my boss today and made this officially my last summer here. Ha, I know, I did this once before, but I intend to make it true this time. It's funny, but it's making this year more enjoyable. So many changes, out of stocks, etc because of Covid, but our sales are up! Crazy. And now I'll start thinking about places I'd like to spend next summer and then looking for a new job. I've unofficially accepted a non paying job at a park in Yuma for 4 months this winter. It's only two days a week... I can play the rest of the time. And it's close to Q, so should my friends (particularly you, Sheila) make it there for the winter, I can easily pop over ... And you can always pop down. I'd love to go to that restaurant again that' we went to last year, what was it's name?

I need to call my auto and rv insurer. My bill is coming due and I want to see if I can get the car portion lower. I may be dreaming, but I'm going to ask.

Yes Anne, I'm well aware of he current fires as I follow Matthew Henderson, Inciweb and other places and left out More in my statement as lightning can start more fires and they are busy enough. I had been concerned over both Susanville and Eagle lake, as I have memories tied to both, from my early college days.

Not so much that it makes a difference to anyone else but you but I know that making those kind of decision (even if you change your mind) takes a bunch of internal energy, thoughtfulness and weighing considerations.
