And It’s Saturday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

And It’s Saturday

Postby Othersharon » Sat Jul 25, 2020 11:21 am

Good morning. At least for a few more minutes! Tina, glad you were able to sell your RV. Now on to the fun of finding just the right one to fit your needs. I can’t help you much with all the ins and outs of the RT’s but I did enjoy the two that we owned. My biggest complaint was that I always felt closed in and why I enjoy the height and windows on Lola. The company has been bought and sold a couple of times if I remember right so I’d probably check to see if parts are easily available for any repairs that might be needed down the line. Plus mine were both older units then what you’ve mentioned so that was an issue for me. But I did love the ease of them for parking and driving.
It’s going to be another hot day here today after a couple of not so hot ones. The humidity is up there though so it sure feels hotter. We had quite a thunderstorm the other night that finally dropped some rain. But it sure was loud and bright! Poor Rascal was nervous but at least at least wasn’t shaking.
I’m trying to decide if I want to go to my favorite farmer’s market today or wait until the first of the week. I got a few ears of corn at the store and it was awful so figured I’d have better luck going to where they pick it daily. Plus I need gas in my car so I’ll do that if I’m out too. So that’s about all that’s happening here. Nothing exciting or new! Have a good week end and stay safe.

Afternoon Shirl, I'm still bored too.

Thank goodness Hanna went some where else or I would have had to move everything and evacuate. It looks like South Texas is taking a beating. It hasn't rained here this morning but there is a big area of rain South of New Orleans that will probably move through here later.

not having a MIFI sure limits my time on the internet... yesterday after my dd got of work my two daughters and I went to Rexburg ate and did a walmart trip...all set for a couple of weeks hopefully I got enough bird seed to keep them happy that long;.... the one arm of my glasses came off think it is broke not just a screw off as I'd hoped ... needed new ones anyway but needed it to happen closer to my being in AZ... so for right now I have to choice of wearing my prescription sun glasses or wearing my regular glasses with just one arm...or I guess going and getting an appointment and getting new ones but they will cost so much...
my afghan is over half done.... then I need to contact my nephew in Vegas see what colors he wants and tell him he can only have one dark color they are so hard to see... I think if it was up to him he would do black... only so will have to be more controlling about it I guess...
been so lazy the last few days ... not sure why would just as soon sit and read as anything...
the twins bday is tomorrow so made a chocolate cake for cake and dip went to use the buttermilk sure went bad quickly or seems like it actually molded... so had to sour some milk don't like using it in this recipe but it looks the same...rises quite high... hopefully it will be moist... it's a super moist cake typically...
I have to echo Anne in wondering where Barbi is???
you all have a good day

Yes, I look for Barbie's late night posts. I just checked on FB, and she has a post from yesterday, but not much there either. I hope she's ok.

I am here and doing OK. :D

Between the current COVID situation and other news lately, plus forgetting my anti-depressant meds several days ago, I kind of took a mental nose-dive. So I have been sleeping a lot, no TV (other than Gunsmoke), and very little FB to check the Gourd page there. Haven't had much energy or appetite. Did some shopping yesterday and felt a little more motivated today. I went thru my cupboards this afternoon and got rid of a bunch of food that I either don't really want or had 3 of the same thing. I checked all the expiration dates and packed them all up for the local food shelf. Also went thru more cupboards and got rid of more cups, glasses, bakeware, utensils, etc that I really don't need. Have a couple more to go thru tomorrow. I got a shelving unit to go where the washer and dryer were so I can put some more bathroom and laundry stuff on there. Not much space in the bathroom for storage. There is some space now next to the shelves for my vacuum cleaner, broom, mop, etc too. I need to contact someone on Monday about coming out to see what is wrong with my microwave. It is still under warranty.

Tomorrow will be laundry and finish up the kitchen and maybe work on the bathroom (lots of sorting and tossing to do in there as well!). We'll see how motivated I am. Usually after a day of working around here, I lose my interest in doing much the next day.

I did all that work today while watching a Gunsmoke movie marathon. Watched 3 of the 5 two hour movies. I saw the other 2 awhile back.

I am thinking of taking a few days and going up to Big Bear but probably not for a couple weeks. This week they are expecting storms up there and as much as I love thunderstorms, I really don't want to be stuck in a motel room the whole time. Not to mention the threat of a wildfire starting while I am there. Will wait until the weather will be nice. I have plenty to do around here until then.

OK, off to bed. Lola is already asleep beside me. She is still doing really well. :D
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
