Hump Day!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Hump Day!

Postby dpf » Wed Jul 22, 2020 9:43 am

Well Good Morning! I was up early to water at Sean’s house and my own. I have to say that Sean’s plants look better than mine. Sitting here waiting for 10:00 to head to Tyndall to drop off some boxes at the Bargain Shoppe and check to see if they have any picture frames and gift bags. I have a baby shower gift and a wedding gift that I need something hold. Also need to look at their books. They’re running a 5/$1.00 special. You can certainly tell that people have been cleaning and purging during the pandemic.

Nothing is really new around here. Had a couple of nice days but the heat is supposed to come back today along with a change of storms. Just my luck since Missy has to go to a funeral in Minneapolis and we’ll have Roxy here again. She is terrible during storms. Last time she was here we had a thunderstorm in the middle of the night and she jumped on the bed beside me and I thought I was in one of those old motel vibrating beds.

I’ve come to the conclusion that we’re not going to be taking the camper out this summer. Bums me out but that’s just the way it is. Haven’t had much to look forward to this summer except for after two years Ryan and Ashley and two other young couples, all who eloped within two weeks of each other two years ago in January and February are having a very belated wedding reception/dance on August 8. They’re all friends and decided to throw a shindig together. They’re serving a meal from 6:30-8 and having a street dance from 8-midnight. It’s all outside and hopefully they have good weather and no one gets infected. Our county has been free of any new cases for about 3 weeks and all are recovered and we have only had one infected person in town and that was in March.

So that’s my news for today. Can’t believe I’m the first to post today!
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

Hi Pat, good to see you post. Not much going on here. I'm watching the weather again. The invest in the gulf isn't suppose to do much but bring rain. The hurricane in the Atlantic could be here in time for my beach trip. I don't see any rain for today but a 90% chance for tomorrow. I will probably mow again late this afternoon but part of the yard is too wet.

I need cat food for the house cats but don't want to go to town. I finally found a food that cut way down on them throwing up. Except Pinky, she eats until she overflows.

Met up with my California son and family yesterday. I beat them to campground and this place is VERY tight, both the campground roadway and my site. I had big trees on one side of me and large rocks on the other, plus a narrow entrance road, but I made it. I am almost at the entrance and a big Class A had the spot next to me, but after asking about the tight turns and looking at overhanging branches, he decided to back past my site and into his own. Pretty place, but not somewhere you would want to come and go all the time.

I have two pork loins I'll give my son to cook for dinner and then I'll make some vegetable kabobs. Tomorrow we visit the brig here at Farragut and on Friday head down to the Columbia River. Then to Bend, and I''ll head to Tillicum Campground on the Oregon Coast, and they will head back home.

They are traveling with their 19-year-old small cat, and she is doing very well on her first camping trip. She found a hiding place in the truck under the backseat armrest and sleeps there all day while they are driving. Then, she spends her days in the trailer rear bunk room sleeping in one of the lower beds. She needs injections and medication for various things, so they had to bring her for their month trip. They have two younger and MUCH bigger other cats which are at home with various sitters. (They are double her size and getting two bigger cats was a bad idea from the beginning.) The bigger and younger cats have always picked on her, so at home she lives in my grandson's room with her own food, water, and litter. Not very active, but she seems happy and still gets around.

Pat, you are certainly a lot braver than I am, for sure.

been somewhat lazy today dishes are my claim to fame.... got a call inquiring about a bill I paid so had to go to the computer and WIFI and see what was going on as I thought it had gone through... it had so called and they made note of the date and that was it... yea
was funny while making my bed yesterday I had the sheets on but not the comforter yet it was still on the line airing out.. and it was hot so I took Shadow out and we sat in the shade... after awhile Koda came to the gate didn't really bark but stared at me whimpered a bit finally I put Shadow on the lead and went to get the comforter which was on Koda's side of the gate she looked at me ran a bit looked back at me (guess to make sure I was still there) went a bit further then took off running to the back door... so I dutifully followed let her in told her if the water dish was out she would have to get someone else's attention as I wasn't going in... just thought it was a hoot..
had some zucchini and yellow squash given to us that I out to go do something with not the healthiest but once a year love doing fried zucchini so think I will do that soon...
you all have a good day

Good to hear from you, Pat. My sister wants me to visit when I leave here. Last time I did that I was able to stop by you. I told her it's going to be dependent on weather and this virus. I know everyone thinks I'm crazy working, but aside from that I'm very careful. Tomorrow I have grocery pick ups at Wal-Mart, Sam's and Safeway. I've done 2 before, first time for 3 lol. The closest I'll get to anyone is at the window of a food truck if an interesting one is around tomorrow.

90 again here. Yuck.

Sheila, if you had an air fryer you could do the fried zucchini in a healthy manner.
