Cool Down Monday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Cool Down Monday

Postby Colliemom » Mon Jul 20, 2020 10:48 am

Good Morning! Thought I had better pipe in here today. Haven’t had much to post about in a way, but been a little busy in others. Had some severe weather move through both yesterday and Saturdsy mornings, no damage here. But some areas of northern Michigan did, including a state park where three trailers were totaled from falling trees. Didn’t here of any injuries. Also a Catholic school was partly destroyed from what the Weather Service said looked like a microburst. Now it’s a wonderful 64 degrees out. Feels good after the hot weather, especially the past couple of days.

My trailer is back home from being dewinterized and serviced. Have all new caulking on about 80% of the trailer now. Next up is giving it a good washing from top to bottom, then start preparing for camping trip trip next week. Want to get that do That before we get back iNto hot weather next weekend. This will be my first trip out this year.

Otherwise just been monkeying around with odds and ends, working in some fun craft projects, running errands and took a drive into the U.P. one dsy. Now waiting for friends to arrive to go with them in some business in town. Piper has a vet appt. late today, so will have to come back and pick her up.

Shirl, thanks for the laugh yesterday. Somedays just seem to go like that. Lyn, nice to see you posting more. Glad all is well with you. Barbie, you aren’t the only one who gets days mixed up, I go through that too. Judy, good luck with your tires. Maybe you should switch to Goodyear. I’ve never been dpfond of Michelins myself. I never had any issues with Goodyear. I plan to replace my truck tires later this fall. The OEM’s are never as good as ones you buy yourself. They are made more to the manufactuers specs than the tire companies. After almost 50,000 miles, it’s tme they go. Never have liked the way they handle.Peggy, good to see you postIng too.

Guess I had beter end this, as friends will be here anytime. Hope you all have a nice day and stay safe.

It's another rainy day here and it's only 80. I brought Orange Boy to the vet for his ear and have drops to put in it for a week. I want to see me catch him everyday for a week. The vet didn't even look in his other ear but I'm putting drops in both ears. I remembered to ask for a rabies shot for him.

I tried to get my errands run so I don't have to go back to town for a while. Picked up a lunch at the deli and a muffuletta to heat tomorrow. Anything to get out of cooking. I forgot to wear my mask when I went in the post office but they didn't tell me anything. I take it off as soon as I get in the car and forget to put it back on at the next stop.

Martha, I have forgotten my mask a few times but get gently reminded at the door! Now I put the mask on top of my purse so I see it when I grab my purse.

Another lazy day. I couldn't get to sleep until early this morning and woke up at 9:30. Maybe due to too much sleep the night before. Just watching more Youtube videos and pics on Etsy on gourds, etc. There are some gourds that are way beyond my ability to do artistically, some that are ones I could easily do and some that I hope I can do eventually. I should be working on cleaning up an area to start working on this stuff instead of wasting time just looking on line. I am learning a lot tho. Now I can look at someone's gourd art and pretty much know how they did it and what techniques and products they used. If I don't know, then I ask on the FB gourd page.

I finished my tuna hot dish for lunch and got my unemployment re-instated, along with doing a transfer with them so the money just goes to my checking account instead of on the debit card. That will save me trips to the bank to transfer the money.

Was really windy again this morning but just a light breeze this afternoon. It is 112* right now. Another 6 weeks and it should start cooling off for the season. I should go check out the pool while I have it to myself right now.

Have a good evening!

I was doing so well living in my gourd art frame of mind...then I turned on the news and now I am all pissed off and stressed out. I need to get back to my world of gourds which is my happy place!

The CA governor just announced that it is OK for massage therapists, nail salons and hair salons to reopen as long as they do all their services outside on the sidewalk or parking lots. Seriously?? I am pretty sure that is not gonna be OK with CA State Board of Cosmetology. No idea how you sanitize a parking lot. Not to mention the 115 degree heat. :o If my salon owner decides to do that, I will not go back. I love our governor but this is really crazy!

OK, done with my rant and back to my online perusing gourds and watching Gunsmoke reruns. Sometimes reality sucks. :(
