Hot humid Sunday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Hot humid Sunday

Postby Shirlv » Sun Jul 19, 2020 11:18 am

Afternoon all, Extreme heat warnings on the shore. We have come a long way with our many gadgets. Turned on the egg cooker for poached eggs and toast in the toaster oven. Heard the bell, grabbed the eggs and turned into a bowl. I got the bells mixed up. Had undercooked eggs and burned toast. Nuked the eggs and scraped the toast. I think my multitasker is broken. Must be the heat, can’t be my age. Stay cool and safe

Oh Shirley, so funny, and, so true. Except not hot here. Very pleasant. Lyn

What happened to Saturday?? I was sure it was Saturday today! Somehow I missed a day  .

Whatever day yesterday was, I did manage to get to the bank, Hobby Lobby, and WM. Also got the trash and recycle taken to the dumpster. I guess today will be my lazy day, altho I do have laundry to take care of.

Am still laying on my bed since my bedroom is the coolest room in the house. I only go out to the living room if there is something on TV I want to watch but nothing good on today.

I do need to get my unemployment reinstated today. I have been waiting to find out if my employer was gonna keep us on the payroll but got word yesterday that they are not. So back to unemployment.

I better go watch our church service on You Tube from this morning. I got an email about it earlier and was wondering why they sent it a day early... One day just blends into the next now days!

I have been sleeping close to 12 hours each night lately. And having very vivid dreams. Not usual for me. I guess I need the rest. Probably from all the stress of what is going on. :( Trying to stay away from the news as much as possible tho. Spent part of the past couple days watching You Tube videos on different painting techniques for my future gourd projects. Can't do any wood burning or carving in the porch since it is so hot out, so will have to do painting inside instead. There are a lot of really cool ideas I am finding tho!

Lyn, good to see you posting! Have they finally gotten the fires put out on the ship there? Must be a lot of smoke coming from that, where you are. Did you ever sell your trailer?

Have a good day! :D

Yes, ship fire was finally out this morning. No smoke at my place as it went east and right through Bario Logan. No sale on trailer but increased interest. Lyn

Barbie, I woke up thinking it was Monday. One day is the same as the rest.

Shirl, your cooking sounds like some of the things I do. I don't dare put something on the stove and not set a timer. Last week I was boiling eggs and I don't know how they didn't explode.

It got up to 97 and then clouded up and rained. Now it's 86. I would go fishing but it looks like more rain.

Barbie, every time you talk about heat, I look at that picture of your poor cat and wonder if you get rid of some of her fur in the summer with a lot of brushing! It must be like wearing a fur coat in the desert!

I also feel sorry for all the black cows I see in California on those yellow, burned dry hillsides in the heat. The least they could do is have white or beige fur on them!

Got a rotisserie chicken the other day and made up some packets with some dressing I made. Now I have some quick meals to heat up. I am in western Montana now, and it was really hot today. Better tomorrow according to weather. I have to go out and get a couple of new tires for the front of my motorhome, and have them check the rear ones. The front ones have been wearing funny, so I really need to get someone to check that but will have to wait until I am somewhere for a few days. Heading north to Farragut on Tuesday to meet up with my California son and his family.

Judy, Lola never goes outside, not even on the porch in the summer. Since the bedroom is the coolest room, she stays in there most of the time. My dad had a Persian cat that he would get shaved in the summers. She loved it! She was like a kitten again afterward, all frisky and happy! Unlike the dog we had. When he got shaved, he thought he was naked and would hide behind everything for the first week!

Stayed in my room all day. Only got up to make a tuna hotdish. Watched the church service and then checked out more videos, and practiced some sketching of ideas for painting. Haven't done any drawing/sketching for a long, long time. It was fun!

It got extremely windy this afternoon and evening but has died down now. Supposed to cool down a little this week to low 100's.

Maybe tomorrow I will get to the laundry...
