Checking the Day Wednesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Checking the Day Wednesday

Postby Bethers » Wed Jul 15, 2020 8:44 pm

Checking the posts and no new morning post today. So starting one tonight. LOL

It was a long day at the store. Ty and I both just ate dinner. Now I'm snacking on chips. Shhhh. My mail caught up with me. Why does one office insist on using my legal address instead of my mailing address? Then they threaten me with turning me over to a collection company for a piddling amount that took an extra couple months to get to me because NO ONE uses that address except a couple things from the state of SD and I know when to expect them. Geez.

It has been almost 15 years since the house next door flooded and I still get mail addressed to that address. I finally put signs on the doors to not make deliveries there because one of the FedX drivers kept leaving my neighbor's packages there.

Yesterday on the computer I saw a copy cat recipe for cracker barrel pancakes. I seldom make pancakes because I don't like mine. I tried the recipe this morning and the pancakes were so good. That recipe is a keeper.

Since Rascal spent a week in the house he thinks he can come and go as he pleases. I put up with him last night but he's going outside at bed time. Sometime during the night he decide to attack my head.

Since it's suppose to rain tomorrow I decided I better mow today. It looked like it was going to rain but it never did. I made a quick trip to town to get a lunch and some wasp spray. I don't know how I haven't gotten stung, there was a nest in the middle of the back door of the old house. I still have a lump under my chin from where I got stung at the campout a month ago. I got so tired of looking for the can of wasp spray I bought 4. Maybe I'll be able to find one of them.

It is actually after 2am but haven't felt very sleepy yet.

Started out lazy today but eventually cleaned up some stuff around the house and dropped off my donated clothes at the only thrift store I could find who was still taking donations. Stopped at the library to drop off and pick up some books. Then back home. Is still hot but not as bad as last weekend!

I ordered a few more supplies for my gourd art from Amazon. I need to get all that stuff organized and clear off the kitchen table so I can do some painting, etc on the projects I have started. Can't do any wood burning or carving since they need to be done outside and it is way too hot right now. I have found some cool painting techniques I want to try tho. There are so many different things that can be done with gourds! The possibilities are endless!

Tomorrow I need to get restarted with my unemployment insurance and also get to the bank. I have $60 in cash from my tips the other day, a check for $40 for the stuffed otter I sold, and a $50 bill I got for a haircut I gave a friend yesterday! She handed me a folded up bill that I put in my pocket, assuming it was a $20. I discovered later that it was a $50! How nice is that?!

I heard today that the Rose Parade is cancelled for next January. I am so sad about that but totally understand why they had to do that. I so look forward to watching that every year. :(

I better get to bed...
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Please Martha, tell me you don't make Rascal stay outside at night. Aren't you afraid of critters getting him? I would NEVER leave my guys outside all night, I'd be terrified a owl, hawk, snake, coyote would get one of them.

Karen, I have 15 barn cats and they are not inside cats. There is a window open at the old house and they can go in there if they want or hang out at the horse barn. They get fed twice a day. Some of the cats are from people dropping them on the road. If they end up here I get them fixed and they are welcome to stay. It has been a long time since I have had a cat disappear. I will miss one for a while and think they are gone and they show up. Rascal had to go to the vet and had an open sore so I kept him in for a week. His mother showed up here pregnant last year and had 4 kittens. They have all been fixed except one male. If they hadn't closed the clinic because of the virus he would have gone too.
