‘‘Tis Thursday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

‘‘Tis Thursday

Postby SoCalGalcas » Thu Jul 09, 2020 11:36 am

Good Morning, I just had a “phone visit” with my pulmonary doctor. Everything is going fine with my lungs. He did not change any of my meds.
I believe I am doing so well is because of the exercising I am doing in the pool 4/5 times per week. Of course, I do continue to isolate. I have been going to the store once and awhile and wear my mask.
Barbie, Does Yum yum sauce have a different name.? I javen’t Been able to find it in the store. Both Ralph’s and Albertsons have large Asian sections.
I still learning to use the air fryer. I love the corn an the cob cooked in it.
I continue to read. Watch TV little more than I used to. Watch very little news. My life is very quiet.

Good morning Lyn! Thursday it is, already. I have a 11 appointment with Curves to get back into routine , which is wonderful. There will be 2 of us working out at opposite ends of the room, with our two masked coaches (owner and her daughter who is coach and admin assistant). We are allowed to have mask off working out. Enter, wash hands, work out and stretch, then sanitizer on hands, mask back on, and home.
Son Chris and I are well so far. His Knees are slowly getting better. We sure look forward to when we can get out more.
I'm not sure I'll get to go camping thus year. Just too much hassle at moment.
We are slated for 100 plus degrees for next several days. Thankful for good AC.
Stay safe everyone .

Wanted to share my fly and gnat solution with you--not quite maintenance, but a problem I have had for years. Little gnats of various kinds drive me nuts. Big problem is that little things crawl on drivers window as I drive, especially on hot days. It is distracting and dangerous because I keep watching them instead of the road. I have suspected they live in the door and crawl up through the fuzzy stuff on the window.

So, I found these window film fly traps that you stick on your windows. You can see through them, but flies and gnats are attracted to them and crawl or fly to them and then get stuck. I was driving or shopping about six hours yesterday and collected maybe 50 little bugs on two of them--one on passenger's and one on driver's window. Left them on and even caught a big horse fly last night! They are sold everywhere, but this is the first time I saw them, and they seem to work. And, they are about 2" b7 10" so I cut mine in half.

Also, mine may be coming from drains, so last night I sprayed insecticide down all my drains and then poured boiling water down them a couple of hours later.

Lyn, try looking in the salad dressing section if you can't find it in the Asian section. I know WM carries it. I don't know what other name it would go by. It is known as shrimp sauce (no shrimp in it tho) and is the color of Thousand Island dressing.

I got a cottage to rent up in Idyllwild for Saturday night. It is still gonna be around 90 degrees up there but much better than 120. The nights will be in the mid 60s so I can have the windows open at night.

For some reason, a request to join my park's FB page showed up from Linda (bikerchik) but she never sent a request. Does that mean my FB account was hacked? And if so, what do I need to do?

It sounds more like Linda's account was hacked if she says she didn't send it.

I went into Rapid today. My second meal out since the virus... To a different food truck. :D We social distanced in line and some of us wore masks. I also did grocery pickups from Sam's Club and Safeway. I hope these behind permanent ways to shop. And I'll keep trying different food trucks as I find them.

Funny, me the avid reader hasn't been able to read as much. I can't figure out why. But I'm still reading, just less.

Barbie change your password
what is the yum yum sauce used for?
my mom used to mix ketchup and horseraddish together for a shrimp cocktail sauce or for shrimp in fact if I am making
some shrimp that is what I still do ...in my humble opinion it tastes better than what you can buy
got up super late remember something sorta woke me up on the phone like a text but it was just a ad that I get from a on line place and then I remembered nothing till way late..I think last weeks cooking driving on Monday 3hours of sleep Tues night caught up...came up and folded clothes and now I am on the internet...
I still haven't decided on what to do with mifi I am one of those who hate changes... one of my dd's suggested that I look into getting a MIFI with more data so that I can stream tv and get what I watch instead of stuff I don't watch.. and I would always have it... which I still don't have tv set up my sil couldn't get to work not sure where the problem is I do know that occasionally there is a glitch in the tv in some cases as gone off for a few long moments then back on I sorta think it's in one of those but without the tv on it doesn't come out of it...and perhaps I don't know what I am talking about... I do know that I need to do something paying for something not being used it's cost effective... I know that direct tv is doing away with the old dishes and receivers at the end of this year.... if I stay with direct tv I would like to get it set up so that all I have to do is run out the cable and plug it in.. and get a automatic one that finds the sats and zones in and boom you have tv so tired of trying to find someone to hook it up for me...it's one of those things that I have tried and not been successful in doing... just can't seem to find them... I don't know how the auto things keep from blowing away..and don't know if they are geared to the new receivers ... so something else to ponder and try and figure out what to do. my youngest is all for my streaming but one would have to have a good unlimited plan to do so and how do you put it on the tv? was going to ask Carol how they do their's as they have it set up so that it goes through the computer from their dish at home.. but we didn't get to see one another when they went through Q. perhaps she will see this and respond... I believe that they have direct tv...
my eldest birthday is today need to call her when I realize how old she is I feel old :o
my last two succulents came today very pretty I think that there is room in the bowl I planted some in for one of the and think I will eat some oui yogurt for the other one..
oh funny thing I thanked my dgd for taking such good care of the plants she sorts blushed and admitted that it rained most of the time I was gone and dd watered once for me... oh well still one loss of a plant not bad for very little care...
you all take care

I use Yum Yum sauce mixed with fried rice. Really tasty!

I went ahead and changed my password on FB. If Linda was hacked, how would someone know to try to get into the private FB site of my RV park? There is no way they would know about that. I don''t know how that all works with hacking tho.

My Jeep is doing weird things. A couple weeks ago the front passenger door won't unlock with the key fob. Now it won't work on the back hatch door. There are no locks on the outside of the doors to unlock with a key. Also, every once in awhile while I am driving, my windshield wipers start up. Almost couldn't get them off today on the way home from work. Either my Jeep is haunted, or has some electrical issues. Will have to bring it into my mechanic shop next week and see if they can figure out what is going on, or I might need an exorcist!

I stopped to pick up a few things for my trip up the hill. I got apples the other day but I picked up some grapes and blueberry muffins for snacks. Trying to keep it somewhat healthy!

If the request came from an account with Linda's name and profile image... And she didn't make the request, it was a cloned or hacked account using her info. You couldn't have done that. Depending on how private her account is, they could possibly see something about your page as you two are friends. It doesn't hurt for you to change your password, but the problem came from her account.

I told her about it and she said she didn't know anything about it, so maybe you can mention it again to her so she can change her password too, just in case. The moderator contacted me saying it looked like I had invited Linda to join the group. She got suspicious since only residents are allowed to be in the group. I told her I knew nothing about it so she deleted the request.

Barbie, some keys and the thing that locks and unlocks the doors have batteries. Maybe the battery needs to be changed.

Rascal, needs to get well and go outside. He is getting braver and is exploring the house. He has a thing about bitting my feet and that hurts. Right now he has one of Annie's toys he's fighting with.

I need to go to bed because I have to bring my car to be serviced in the morning.
