Let's start our day with a good morning here.

July 1,2020

Good morning Everybody, rise and shine. It’s a new day of the new month in an unbelievable year. Hope you are well. On Monday three workmen were in my house for hours installing mini split air conditioners in my bedroom and the fireplace room. They wore bandannas whenever they were near me, but probably not when they were in the basement. They used the bathroom and I didn’t wipe it down. All the windows were closed and the new ac circulated all the germs I’m sure!!!!
Now I’m driving myself crazy worrying about exposure.
CT was just beginning to open up and now we have a travel ban on people coming from others states in the south and west.
And you know none of us can go to Europe right now, even if we wanted to.

My garden was the nicest it has ever been and guess what, a mama woodchuck had six babies under my neighbor’s shed!
Mama Chuck and one or two of the juveniles come for fine dining.
Check in and tell us how you are. I’m the meantime keep smiling and washing your hands. Peggy

I woke up early and decided to get to the testing place early to get ahead of the rush. So now I am in line with about 200 other early birds! it is good to see so many people wanting to get tested tho. Will head back to bed as soon as I get home.
They must have opened up early cause the line is starting to move now.

Mornin' Peggy, Barbie and all who follow ~~~

Well it's been a rough month of June. Ma fell, broke her shoulder while bringing another resident a milk shake, surgery to put in a rod and is now in rehab and not doing well at all. She's not eating, very confused at times (i.e. one day wondering why my dad is not getting her out of there and they've been divorced for over 60 years), etc. Then other days she's more lucid. And yes, during all of this, no visitors allowed at her independent living home, hospital or rehab. It is what it is.

I actually left IL for a couple of weeks since there is nothing I can do other than calling ma 4+ or more times a day. Kept the mini-GTG dates up in WI with Eileen and Rosemary. We were able to do some sightseeing as WI has been open for quite a while, but we still did social distancing. I found a CG with an opening for a month, so I'll be heading back to IL on Monday, so not heading to TRNP or Devil's Tower as planned.

Luckily I remembered Rabbits! for a change because it was mentioned on the news this morning. Hoping everyone is doing well.

Cheryl, I am so sorry to hear about your Mom. :( Older people just can't handle injuries very well. I hope she gets better soon, mentally and physically.

Just got home...OUCH!!! This time they went up my nose, and did that ever hurt!! My eyes watered all the way home. It is still really sore. Trying to get a nap in but the landscape crew is out with their chainsaw nearby trimming something.

I usually am up late enough to say "rabbits" before I go to bed but I went to bed a little earlier last night and totally forgot this morning. I am surprised, Cheryl, that they mentioned that on the news! Must be more common than I thought.

I think I will take some Ibuprofen and try to get back to sleep for a bit...

(3 hours later...the chainsaws are being used to "trim" the palm trees, meaning scalping them down to about 3 or 4 fronds. That time of year. They look so naked when they do that but doesn't take too long for them to fill out again.)

Thought of Rabbits last night but not early, early in the morning when I offered Audrey a chance to escort Jane outside to take care of the early morning puppy potty. Lark said she didn't need to get off the bed, thank you. And yes, Jane then goes back into her crate in the office and the older girls go back to sleep with me till later in the morning when reasonable retired people decide to get out of bed. That reading late at night is such a delight.

The title for the RV has not arrived yet. The rig was paid off on 6/11 but apparently Bank of the West doesn't begin to process the title out until 10 days after the pay off. Something about my bank (I paid electronically) having the ability of taking the money back for a short period of time. And now I am wondering that maybe the Bank of the West should pay me interest for the use of my money....since there is no way I can complete a sale or trade of the rig without the title..... I am glad that I don't do this stuff often. The rig goes in tomorrow for her oil change and to be checked out by my mechanic regarding any issues I can decide to either fix or disclose.

Only trips I have been taking are a couple drives up the road to Columbus with Jane so her breeder can see her and agree that she is not "chopped liver" and worthy of imagining a show career. Now at 4 months, even Audrey has agreed to come down from her pedestal and play with Jane. Lark of course thinks that playing with Jane is part of her responsibilities. Golden retrievers are made for this.

I got an email from the test scoring center asking if I was interested and available for contracts that may be available starting in August and may be available some this fall. I so wish I might say, No, but with few dog shows, many states not wanting visitors and no rig that I want to journey out in at the moment, it is difficult to rationally turn an opportunity to earn future "adventure" money down. I can always give a tentative yes now and be not available later when specific dates, durations and topics of a specific contract is offered.

For now my adventures out into the big world are made up of human grocery stores and stops for dog food, though I admit splurging on a trip for a therapeutic massage. The salon is very small and I was the only client there. I trust the precautions that the owner put in place for her self, her customers and her therapists. My body thanked me. I can't share about any beautiful gardens I have created or share details regarding my home improvements and I see no interest in talking about how many times I have washed my hair or done my laundry. And no I have not figured out how to get Lark interested in learning laundry skills. Hiking and kayaking are still options I am enjoying. Also since my library is still closed for pursuing the stacks in person, I have learned to go on line and find out which books are available, call and ask for them and then drive over the next day and have them delivered to my car in the parking lot. I have never been one to place holds on popular books and under current circumstances this option is not available but many recent releases, etc, seem to be more available because of the current situation. I finally am going to get to read "We are the Lucky Ones." On another point, apparently when any books get returned they have to be dropped off in the outside drop box and sent to "quarantine" before they can be handled by the staff and returned to circulation. I still twitch some at the thought of purposely "dropping" books any where. And poor books don't even know what they did wrong but off to quarantine they go!

As Peggy reminds us: Stay safe, wear a mask, wash your hands..... and in general don't do stupid stuff.......we want you to be around next month.

Good morning to all. For the first time ever I remembered Rabbits this morning, mostly because I was looking in the back yard and watching the bunny sitting out there.
We have been having a cool down here in Vegas - two days of high 80's very unusual for end of June and today it will still be under 100. Then we get the wind again and over 100 heat.
Today the contractor will come over and let us know what and when the repairs from the flooding in the house will begin. Guess we will get new flooring and some work on the walls where they removed wall board, and a big patch under where the fridge goes as they cut the entire floor out there and replacement cupboards in the hall and laundry room. An old unused line to an ice maker rotted and it had never been shut off from the water supply. So we too will have all kinds of workers in and out for a while. The worse part is going to be putting everything back where it belongs. We've already taken all knick knacks etc. down and they are scattered in all the rooms that weren't flooded. Good part will be - everything will be clean when it is done. Right now our refrigerator is in the living room. The dishwasher isn't screwed down, but is usable as long as I don't pull the baskets way out. Such is this year. Afraid to wonder what else can happen.
Hope to eventually be able to get in RV and get out of the heat for a few weeks.
If you have Dish TV have you found the channel for relaxation. Channel #199 for us. It is a photograph that has been animated - this month it is a country scene. It lasts about 1/2 hour and goes through 24 hours of a little farm community. Last month it was a beach scene, before that a cabin in the mountains. Oh well what we do to entertain ourselves - I was watching Loony Toons the other day.
We are still pretty much staying at home. Only been to grocery store twice - no one wearing masks. Though as of today it is a mandate! Ordering groceries on line from Walmart. Unlimited delivery and I spend less money just ordering what I need. The time we went into the store I spent a lot more money on stuff.
We've both been doing a lot of busy work on hobbies. Stuff I don't know what we will do with when they are finished.
We thought we'd take a ride up to Mount Charleston this week, but wouldn't you know it is on fire, no visitors allowed.
Got to get out of the house.
Stay safe every one.
Oh , question does any one belong to Harvest Hosts? Sounds interesting.

Good morning everyone! I'm awake earlier than usual , probably because im so anxious about this whole eye issue with left out of focus. Have to see what the Dr says today.
Cases of positive testing are way up,in CA. I keep hearing people say, that's because more testing being done, but that's not the reason solely. A bigger percent of the tests done are now positive. I wear my mask when in public and wash hands a lot more than my usual nurse habit. Carry hand sanitizing hand wipes alcohol based in the car, amd stopped carrying my purse, in favor of just a card case for ID amd CC.
Sons knees still very painful. Will likely end up, taking him to Dr at some point. Non emergency stuff like this, it's hard to decide if it's worth the risk.
We have planned hotdogs and salads for 4th. Not the big spread I used to put out, but our favorites. Then sit out front to set off our safe and sane fireworks with neighbors. As usual we will be spread around the cul de sac, so have always been what we now call socially distanced.
Have a good week.

Afternoon All, I said rabbits after midnight. I too lose time reading. I miss library visits and holding a real book but use my library card and download books to my old Kindle Fire. It’s popular and sometimes have to put a hold on a book but when it’s finally available it’s like a surprise gift. My brother doesn’t have internet access or cell so calls me on the landline to request information. His latest request, Olive Gardens carry out menu. Oh! Well gives me something to do. :) Holiday weekend coming up and beach traffic will keep me home bound. Do wish they would stay home and barbecue until the virus is under control. Be safe

Hello, all! I am "camping" on a parking lot in a marina. Sounds awful, but the marina is in the Duluth Harbor, just two blocks from Lake Superior with a terrific view of the entire harbor, the boats in the marina, and ships coming in through the famous lift bridge! Good view of downtown across the harbor, also. And terrific breeze, though chilly today. Only problem is the quiet couple next door left and a family (or two) with two kids and maybe 6 people arrived with a 24-26' Class C. I have no idea where they are all going to be sleeping because this place does not allow tents.

Am staying in today but going to walk the three blocks to the lift bridge and park tomorrow and visit the shops and restaurants. Too foggy for good photos today, and I have some calls I need to make and things to do for my class, so today will be a work day. A big freighter is also due to arrive at noon tomorrow, so I can watch it come through the bridge. Updated my blog last night, so you can see what it is like to camp in a marina in a downtown area!!

I actually remembered Rabbits for a change because Barbie posted a reminder.

I had to look up a picture of a Woodchuck because I had never seen one. The internet says they are groundhogs. I think that is about the only rodents we don't have.

Cheryl, sorry about you mother's fall. Medicine must affect older people differently. I know it did my mother. She only needed about a half a dose of medicine.

Carol, I looked at your repair pictures on your blog. What a mess. At least you will have new floors when they get through. I wish Direct TV had a relaxation channel. I am so sick of most things that are on. Half the time I have the weather channel on with it muted.

I am usually up and dressed by 8:00 but this morning I was messing around. The vet called and wanted me to pick up Rascal at 1:00. I had to hurry and get dressed and get to town because I wanted to go to Walmart before I picked up the cat. I get pissed off every time I go to Walmart. I'm in a hurry and everyone is in slow motion. I was going to get a container of watermelon but there was a woman and man standing in the way picking up every container of mixed fruit and examining them. Boy did I ever want to tell them that I'm sure the world is glad that they touched every box. I should have gone to town in the truck and picked up gas for the mower but didn't feel like messing with that. I can only fill the cans about 2/3 full or I can't pick them up.

I guess Rascal is going to be a house cat for a while. He has a big sore on his neck I'm suppose to clean. That will put everyone's nose out of joint. The house cats don't like the outside cats.

Good afternoon! I think I said rabbits first thing this morning! Pup wanted to go downstairs so didn’t have to encourage him to get up and go out! No conversation needed! Just follow his command and open the back door! Judy, I perked up when you said you were in Duluth! My oldest son was born there soon to be 50 years ago. Pulled up the page for the hospital and wow, it’s really grown up! My DH was stationed at the AF base there which isn’t anymore as I understand. Our house was a few blocks off the lake and we could sit in our kitchen and watch the boats on the lake and the bridge was off in the distance. Sadly, I didn’t see much of the area. At the time I was a young mother and wrapped up in my home and kids. But still have good friends from there and good memories. We were transferred to Montana 4 months after son’s birth so there it is. Goodness, what I missed now that I think about it!
I just got home from a quick trip to Sam’s Club. I was amazed at how many people weren’t wearing masks. Last time I was there pretty much everyone wore them. Good that I won’t need to go again for quite awhile and may need to rethink the ordering and curbside delivery option.
The weather person said scattered rain today and when I left Sam’s it was sunny and and dry but just a couple of miles down the road it had apparently rained since the road was still very wet. And then a couple of miles beyond that it was dry again. Weird!
Carol, I belong to Harvest Hosts but haven’t actually used it yet. Know of a few people that have and they’ve enjoyed the experience. There’s a winery not far from here that I keep saying I should call and try to do an overnight but haven’t done it yet. And I like their wine so won’t be hard to visit and support them! There are a lot of locations out your way from what I see and they keep adding new places to stay.
Tina, sure hope all your paperwork comes through so you can sell your RV. Seems like now is a good time! So it’s time to get the boy fed and I suppose I should figure out something for myself too! Have a great evening all!

I was up till after midnight but didn't think of saying rabbits then this morning it was hectic and didn't think to say rabbits either... thought about it about an hour ago... don't think that will help much now
my sister in law posted something the other day on FB about a new month and hopefully it would be a better month .... my reply was that it couldn't be worse right??? right??? my sister who listens to news ect pipes up and says you haven't listened to the news have you? China says that there is a new swine flu coming and will be a pandemic well not what I wanted to hear :o
Got my hair cut like it
made the butter chicken was a hit...was so yummy!!!!
trying to find yeast when by this store called Kitchen Kneads think I need to go back when I have more time
lots more stuff there than I remembered but been a great many days since I've been in one and the one I was in was down in SLC was a lot smaller... one thing that they had was the ice cube trays that are made from ... can't think of the product some times it's used to make muffin pans very lite weight anyway they are small about half the size of a normal ice cube tray so very RV friendly. I have one, one more is tempting. thought of the product sylocon
here it is 10 and I still haven't done my two rows on my afghan...
should go get it and work on it or sit down on the couch and work on it that is where I abandoned it to make butter chicken..
Oh Judi you would be surprised how many that 24 ft can hold... we had one went on a trip with all the kids including our married dd and her family was in the campground and a huge storm came up... before the night was over the only one not inside the trailer was our sound and he was in the car sleeping ...if I counted correctly we were a group of 10 so 9 in the trailer...what a night
