Morning. Cloudy here with a peak of sun once in awhile. Supposed to have some scattered showers today they say.

Got up this morning and decided fo get moving after I had a bit of breakfast. Put a load of laundry in the washer when I got up and let it wash while having my protein shake and some peaches. Took a shower and then got into house cleaning. All done with that, so now beading to town on errands and lunch out since it’s getting toward that time. Need to stop by RV place to see about getting my trailer dewinterized. Made a set of reservations for mid August. Decided to go for it. I can go sightseeing and be outdoors, not among crowds, especially in the western U.P. Figure if the virus cases start going up, can always cancel. We are averaging less than 200 a day for the most part and the areas of the U.P. Where I will be have very low counts. Some counties averaging 2-4 and one has none. Marquette has 61 but due to it’s size and population.

Good start, Barbie. Now the trick is to not buy anything that isn't essential! One good thing about living in a motorhome or RV is that you can't buy souvenirs unless they are very small. I have bought several Zuni animal fetishes, but they are only about 3" tall and I have them in a small shadow box. I do buy a lot of clothes, but part of this is because I have lost weight slowly over the years and part is that I often cannot do laundry very often.

At Wilderness State Park at the tip of Michigan's ring finger. Nice here but limited satellite channels, which is OK. Also rainy and damp and the mosquito have come out!! Got lots of inside things to do to keep me busy.

We are headed to the hottest days of the week. It's already 88 at 11:30. I need to get to pet store and grocery later. Otherwise staying in with AC.
Curious how many of you have had your RV weighed to see if weight is too much or off balanced ? I've not had van weighed but would like to, just not sure where. Only scales I know of is truck weigh and inspection station on the intestate and they frown on private vehicles pulling in.

Since it is going to be so dang hot today, low 100's I got my butt in gear and headed to the grocery store. Got everything I needed, came home, put it away and had some cantelope. Now patiently waiting so I can eat lunch LOL I was good I didn't buy any goodies. Mostly some fruit and veggies. Didn't even need meat as I am trying to eat out of my freezer. Need to finish up my last meatball for dinner with some yellow crookneck squash. Bought a small bag of potatoes because I like the size of them for a baked potato in my air fryer. Salad for lunch. I have lost 6 lbs in 2 weeks so now I just need to keep it up. So far I have been really good. Did have a Chicken bowl at Panda Express last week but I had skimped on the calories for breakfast and lunch so still unter my allotted calories for the day wahoo

Get to go camping middle of July. Going with a small group. It is a large state park with very roomy sites so it is easy to do proper social distancing. We wont have a potluck but that is fine. Will take some fruit, crackers, salsa, chips to share.

Yesterday when I brought my motorhome to the shop I forgot to load one of the satellite receivers so had to go bring them one this morning. I stopped at one of the specialty meat markets and picked up some smoked boudin for the next campout. That place is built by a traffic circle and people don't know how to drive. The ones trying to get in the drive thru lane are always blocking traffic. I hate to get involved in their traffic jam. I went to the bank, post office and picked up a lunch when I got back to Abbeville. I had planned to go by the feed store and pick up cat food but of course I forgot. I need to go to OZ and get a new brain.

We aren't getting all the rain that was predicted. There is an area of storms in the gulf. That's about right, we will have a storm for the 4th.

One of the younger outside cats was missing for several days. He showed back up Sunday afternoon. His fir was all ruffled up and he was afraid of me. He had been the friendliest kitten. I was afraid he was sick but he wouldn't let me catch him. Last night he was finally back to himself. Every time Sugar gets near him she has to smell him all over. She doesn't do that to the other cats so she is smelling something on him. I would sure like to know what happened to him.

There have been a couple of TV programs about experiments where they strapped camera on cats. One group put trackers on almost all the cats in a small British town where nearly all cats were outdoor cats. It was fascinating to see where cats went at night and what they did. I'm not sure where I saw this, but one cat kept spending nights and days away from home. Turned out that it was a multi-cat home where he was fed dry food and where the other cats picked on him. He found a cat-less home where they would let him in and fed him canned food and table scraps, so he was spending most of his time in this better home.

My first cat was a Maine Coon that we figured out later had been dumped as a kitten. My nephew found her in the woods and brought her to me. He was always finding and taking home strays and had been told NO More lol. So I was the recipient. I said I'd find her a home. Right lol I took her to the vet and boy did we misjudge her age. She was slowly starving. Needless to say she became a gigantic Maine Coon. And would absolutely have nothing to do with going outside. The outside she'd dealt with terrified her for life. But she considered me get saviour and would jump up and put both paws around my neck and refuse to let go. I lived in an apt without a.c. at the time and she'd sit in the open bedroom window with a bird's nest only a foot or so outside on a tree branch and they became friends. But if I opened the screen she'd run and hide. I could tell tons of stories about her.

I only got a few hours sleep last night. I was exhausted but simply couldn't fall asleep. So I thought today would be a disaster. However we were busy at work... Kept me going. I only hope to not have a repeat tonight as I have to go in an hour earlier tomorrow. That's nothing compared to a week from Friday when I have to be there by 5 am. That should be interesting to say the least.

Sue, sounds like you have at least a couple fun trips planned for the summer. Maybe you can fit in another one or two in the fall, as well.

Karen, have fun on your camping trip too. Hopefully, things won't shut back down with the cases surging again.

Martha, I always wondered what happened with Lola right after I got her and she escaped the day I adopted her. She was on her own in coyote country for 4 months before I finally got her back. She never wanted to go back outside again. I am sure it wasn't easy but she wasn't very thin so she must have gotten food somewhere.

Judy, that was an interesting article about the cameras. I am sure cats are very different when outside. Their natural instincts kick in when they are outside especially if they don't feel safe. I wish I was getting rid of clothes because I lost weight instead of gaining weight. I used to have that problem when I was younger. I had a hard time keeping weight on and was thin for a long time due to a very high metabolism. I guess my crappy diet has finally started catching up with me!

Beth, I had a Maine Coon once. He was the best cat ever! And Lily, the white Maine Coon stray I found last winter, had the same personality he had. They are awesome cats! So smart, easy-going and loving. When I adopted Lola, they listed her as a Maine Coon. She looks like one (typical markings and longer fur) but is much too small to be one and doesn't have the personality of one.

Speaking of Lola, she is doing much better now. She is doing well with her litter box, eating good and looks much better. She is spending more time with me and I even saw her giving herself a little bath earlier. I still need to brush and comb her because she has matts in her fur. I get them out easily except for the ones on her lower legs. fur is too short there to get a come or brush in them and she is very sensitive there. I will try putting powder on them and see if that helps.

I worked this morning until 1 and then stopped for a burger on the way home. I had a splitting headache all day (grinding me teeth again!) and then a tummy ache from eating too fast. I took a nap when I got home and woke up 3 hours later, still with a headache (took Advil before the nap). I even missed my Gunsmoke shows at 4.

It is hot this week. Low 100 teens. Typical for this time of year tho.

Velda, I hope someone can help you with your weighing question. I never had my trailers weighed but didn't ever have that much in them, and tried to keep the heavier stuff up front.

Of all the cats we have had Girlie was our favorite. Someone had brough her to the vet and wanted him to put her to sleep. She was probably less than a year old. Harold happened to go in to the vet's about that time. The vet said you all like cats why don't you take her. They put her in a box and Harold brought her home. It was like she knew he had saved her. She was the most loving cat. She was black but she had kittens a couple of times before we had her spayed and some of the kittens were Siamese. Girlie lived to be about 18.

I should put a camera on Frosty. He's the great white hunter. I see him way out in the fields.

it has been for me a lazy day I did get dishes done but not all put away just didn't wanna so went to town got a few groceries... almost 70 dollars worth of a few... grapes were on sale for 1.29 so got a couple of bags cause I want to make the grape salad of Pat's just need to look for the recipe.. have enough grapes for the full recipe but only enough cream cheese for half since it makes such a big salad had planned on only making 1/2 recipe anyway... so got extra grapes to snack on.. going to make just rites tomorrow night and if I get it done cake and dip... it will be 8 years tomorrow since Larry passes away... just doesn't seem possible... want to take flowers to the cemetery am hoping that they have some wasn't much today as I was thinking of getting a bunch today instead of going into the store again tomorrow but didn't work out that way
I think it would be interesting to follow a cat with a camera... my youngest dd had a coon cat as well she died this past spring was such a pretty kitty soft fur!!! will miss her
getting late enough I probably ought to start closing up the trailer... it gets chilly today was a nice weather day
when I went to the store the other day Saturday I believe I got two 20 bags of sunflower seed and what do they do but cut back on their feeding I see several of the feeders still with seed in it and they were filled about 12 or so
need to go find the recipe

Diane, thanks for your comment on weighing RV. If you mean Oakdale CA, that's way south of me, I just don't get that dutection often. Driving 200 miles roundtrip and spending $$$ for diesel just to satisfy my curiosity, I think I'll wait. Have to ask a CHP friend if he knows a place.
Have had headache from my neck arthritis all day. Can't see chiropractor within 2 weeks of Bowen therapy, so just trying to get by with CBD and Aleve, so I can sleep tonight.

Before I bought my Jayco trailer, I had my cargo van weighed to be sure my van could pull the trailer. The trailer weighs 3,500 pounds. My van weighs 6,000 pounds. My van is rated to pull 12,000 pounds (including the weight of the van).

I was good to go!
