MONDAY AGAIN

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

MONDAY AGAIN

Postby SoCalGalcas » Mon Jun 22, 2020 11:07 am

Good Morning, I probably should have put my little joke in the joke box. When they back and read some of the jokes there.
June glum has been around for the past several days, however, it is supposed to be breaking up this week. I have been doing my water jogging now that our pool is opened again.
I used the wal-mart pick up service a couple of weeks ago. It is very handy, but, I did not care for the substitutions they made. There is a $30 Minimum too.
I can go to Ralph’s on my scooter so I may begin doing that.
I had a dead battery on my truck and the AAA guy said I have to drive it more frequently. Therefore, every four days I take it out and drive around for 45/60 minutes.
Still awaiting results from the CT scan on my abdomen.
Had a nice visit with the other daughter on Saturday. Outside and sitting not close. I do miss seeing my grands and greats.
One great is 5 years old and will start kindergarten on August 31st. The twins will be 6 months soon and I only get to see the, on Facebook when their Mother posts. One of my grands is still working from home and loves it and wants to continue.
Here it isn’t even the first and I have spilled all my news.....

Good morning Lyn. I’ve been thinking about you for the past few days. Remember when you were here with me and I took you on the drive along the Lake Huron shoreline and we stopped at Tawas Point State Park by that lighthouse.. The great lakes are up so high now that that lighthouse and that whole area that we were in is now underwater, not deep but the area is closed. The road to that day use area is also in the water. I guess you can still use the day use area but you have to park your car at the entrance and either walk in or ride a bike. Hope you get a good report on your MRI And glad you are getting back into the pool again. Did you ever sell your trailer yet?

I finally uncovered my trailer today and now I need to get an appointment to get it dewinterized, And have my roof checked to see if the caulking is doing okay. I do that every year. Then comes the fun of getting it all cleaned up from being I will put away all winter and get stuff put back in. My first shift isn’t until the end of June and I just now made another one for the middle of August. Will be a short season this year.

Have some rain moving in in a little while here and the temperatures are cool. Sure am glad that that hot weather is gone although it looks like by next weekend we are supposed to go back up again. I am

So off to get into something in the house here. Probably should do a little bit of cleaning.

Lyn, it's good to hear from you! I so enjoyed our visits both times you were here in the area. Sue, hope your shortened camping season makes up for its length in fun and relaxation. I'm not sure I'll even get out this year.
At 10 am, it's already 85, on it's way to triple digits again. Too warm to do much outside so staying in and getting stuff done.
I have my first Bowen Therapy recommended by the Spinal Dr on Wednesday evening. Should be interesting and hope it helps a lot. Doesn't help that my Curves has been closed since March. Need to ramp up activity again.
Stay safe and stay hydrated.

Hi Lyn!

Glad to hear that your pool is open again so that you can do the water exercise that you enjoy.

I so enjoyed meeting you (and the other ladies!) a couple of years ago at Eagle Lake (Eagle Lake Volcanic Field):

https://www.usgs.gov/media/images/eagle-lake-volcanic-field

Which is just a few miles from Lassen Volcanic National Park:

https://www.nps.gov/lavo/index.htm

Girl, you are LEGENDARY on this forum (and that will never change!). I often wonder how many ladies here, hearing about you and your many adventures, say to themselves: "If she can do it, I can do it too!!" I count myself as one of these. For this I sincerely thank you. :D

It was an absolute delight to meet you and to spend a tiny bit of time with you during the get-together there (LOL - not an axe murderer in sight!). I remember how we stood together and had a good look at the slopes surrounding the lake that were rubbled with vesicular basalt (lava).

Hope your days are bright, your pool adventures soothing, and your pending medical tests are all favorable.

My very best wishes to you. :D

Lyn, if you do another Walmart pickup two things. You can opt out of substitutions. Or you can allow them and check them before accepting the order. You don't have to take them.

Good to see you posting.

Anne, time flies because it was August 2017 that we were at Eagle Lake. And, just an update on Eagle Lake--I went there last summer for a few days and took some photos of the fires they had there in 2018. They came within a few hundred feet of the campground that was just west of us, or about only three miles from the Merrill Lake Campground. The fire was mostly on the western side of the lake, but covered a very large area. In some places, the only firebreak was the highway.

Here are the photos from my blog. http://grandmajjb.blogspot.com/2019/08/ It is a pretty campground with lots of big trees. Also, there was more of a beach in 2019 than in 2017.

I am in northern Michigan right now, just west of Mackinaw City on the top of the lower peninsula--sort of the tip of your ring finger, if you hold up your hand! Been visiting my cousin and niece, so tomorrow is my rest day. Wednesday will probably be Mackinac Island. Good to be on the road again.

Lyn, you have way more news than I do. I am so glad I got to camp with you in Florida. That was a fun campout. I didn't make it this year but maybe next year. It has gotten so popular that it's hard to get a reservation.

I brought my motorhome to the shop. Don't you know that when I unplugged it the 12 volt was working. Grrrrrrrr I wrote them a long paragraph telling all the things that it has been doing so maybe they can figure it out.

It started raining as soon as I got on the road and rained most of the way. It has really cooled off, it's only 76. Looks like there is a lot more rain to come.

My ex-DIL sent me a text with a picture of my grandson's high school diploma. Glad he was able to finish school. He wants to go to school to be a barber. Not sure that would be a good thing to go into with the virus going around.

My, my! 2017? Hardly seems possible. I had a wonderful time at this GTG - my first ever - and still hope for many more. Well. . . one can hope, right?

Thanks for the link to your blog. I read the post about Eagle Lake, and then went on to read the post about Lava Beds National Monument - one of my most favorite places in the entire world. You mentioned Lassen volcano in your post as being nearby - there is a volcano even nearer to Lava Beds National Monument than that (I'm sure you know this, Judy, but I need to have some fun).

This volcano is by some estimates the largest volcano in the Cascade range. This volcano's "footprint" covers about eight-hundred-fifty square miles (!), it is 50 miles from north to south, and 30 miles east to west.

I am of course speaking of the mighty Medicine Lake Volcano. Lava Beds National Monument is located on the north-east shoulder of this volcano.

When you were visiting Lava Beds, you were literally standing on the Medicine Lake Volcano. It is the Medicine Lake Volcano that erupted the basaltic lava that forms the many lave tube caves (at last count, around three-hundred of them!) and makes the monument so very spectacular.

Oh! Be still my heart!! [sigh] I haven't made it up there in a couple of years now (I try to go at least once every year) but a trip for this year isn't looking so good. :(

Thanks for the post, Judy! There are so many bad fires here in Northern California every summer, I had forgotten about this one. Very nice photos, too.

Thanks. :D

Postby BarbaraRose » Mon Jun 22, 2020 11:26 pm

Didn't do much yesterday but was thinking about my dad. Last night when I went to bed, I started thinking about all the good times we had together. I have focused so much on the bad stuff that I forgot about a lot of the fun stuff. Spent a few hours reminiscing. It was nice to think back on those times.

Got up fairly early this morning and decided if I wanted to get stuff done around here I needed to just get started on it. If I eat breakfast first or get on my laptop, I lose any motivation and never get going on anything. I started on my bedroom and cleaned it from one end to the other. Went thru all my clothes and got rid of a ton of things that no longer fit (those Covid 15 lbs!). Got rid of about 12 swim suits! For someone who hasn't gone swimming in years, I sure owned a lot of swim suits! I used to have lots of suits when I was younger and living on the lake in MN because I went out on friends boats a lot. No need for all those now. Kept 2. Still need to go thru my shoes and slippers (who really needs 8 pairs of slippers?? ). Next will be the kitchen and get rid of a lot of stuff in there. Also the bathroom. I just need to downsize a lot of my stuff since there just isn't enough space in here for it all and I am tired of the boxes and bins of stuff I don't really need.

Back to work tomorrow. Will be heading to bed as soon as Gunsmoke is over.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
