Perfect Thursday weather

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Perfect Thursday weather

Postby Redetotry » Thu Jun 11, 2020 11:48 am

Good Morning, We are being blessed with a week of cool temps and low humidity. If only we could keep it this way but this is Southern Illinois so not much chance. I went to the dentist yesterday and in one hour, pleasantly spent with happy gas, I have two beautiful new upper front teeth. They are glued in so no wires and in 4 weeks I go back for impressions and temps will be put back in until permanent 'teeth are ready. I am totally amazed at how real they look, and how little time it took. One tooth had to be pulled and I felt nothing. So far no issues and my face wasn't even numb when I drove home.
I hope everyone gets this weather to enjoy for awhile.

Thursday

Postby Othersharon » Thu Jun 11, 2020 12:05 pm

Good afternoon all. It was a crazy day yesterday. Luckily we missed most of the really bad winds and rain. State College apparently had trees down and heavy rain, all of 20 miles away from here. We got bursts of some rain here and there all day. I did manage to get some rugs from the RV washed and vacuumed. And of course did some rearranging! She’s almost ready to go but right now no where to go! Shelia, I don’t think I’d enjoy being away from home all winter! Even if I’m not a fan of winter! Love to go but not for long lengths of time. As much as I enjoy you full timer’s adventures I just know it’s not for me. Humidity is down today with cool temps. It’s supposed to get sunny and a bit warmer this afternoon but not sure if it’ll happen. Right now everything is wet so no working outside today unless it’s later today. I did get the air unit in the windows yesterday but not sure I’ll be able to do it again. It’s super heavy so it may just stay there all winter! I’ll have to figure a way to cover it to help block out the cold. Barbie, hope you can get back to your part-time hours. I can understand you needing a long nap yesterday. Makes me wonder how those others hang onto a job. So that’s about it for me today. Find something good in the day and stay safe.

Sharon, they make covers for window AC's for wintertime. I don't think they cost much.

Lola didn't seem too perky this morning. I went in to work and there were 4 of us. One was the guy who rarely works. He was scheduled to get off early and I was scheduled to close at 5pm. I asked him if he would switch with me so I could leave early and keep an eye on Lola. Luckily he agreed. Right after that, my manager called him to see if he wanted to go home for the day (at 9:30am) since we were slow. He told her that he was staying for me. I called her back and asked if I could leave for the day and she said yes, so I high-tailed it out of there! I don't know why she keeps sending him home early or telling him not to come in, when I am working overtime and exhausted. Still haven't seen the schedule for next week (which starts this Saturday).

I am getting ready to subQ Lola and see if she perks up some with that.

Another very hot day here. Was already 91* at 8:30 this morning. Supposed to be cooler over the weekend. The wind is already picking up some so that helps.

I contacted someone at the park about coming over to deal with my fire ant issue again. I don't see a nest but they are all over the place around my house again. Maybe the neighbors have a nest.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

I actually made it to the nurseries today... and was the pickins low  they told me because of the virus (we can blame a lot on it but this actually made sense) because so many were staying home doing more in their space and buying up the inventory before it even got here (we have a late growing season) so they had simply never received what they typically would have...I'm not sure if I got enough or if I will have to try else where will see I guess when I try to put together my containers and see what will go where I typically over fill them might not happen this year...but did find double petunias for my mom she really likes them but she is not going to like the condition these are in am hoping that after they are out of their pots and into something bigger they will look better...had to laugh phone just rang and it was my mom... her sister lives in Orlando and her daughter called to tell mom that her mom had fallen and broken a hip and of course was in the hospital she is 95 has mom said not much more we can do than pray for her...so much going against her at this time ...
tomorrow have to take my gd and the dog over to the vet for her checkup from the surgery hopefully the cone will come off and hopefully those sprints over the fence hasn't damaged anything...
you could always come out for a month or so Sharon :?
it was a beautiful day here as well but cooling off need to close up the house
you all have a good day
