Tuesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Tuesday

Good morning all. Thought I’d jump on here before I head outside to mow the yard. It’s supposed to be hot and humid today so need to get moving. Barbie, good self control! I’d be tempted to say something too! Is Lola better today? My groomer called me back last night so I could make an appointment to have pup clipped next month just before our camping trip. I’m assuming it’ll be hot since we’ll be going in mid July. But with this crazy weather who’s to know. I just don’t want him to be uncomfortable. I had dinner the other night with son and family and he sent home a container of mashed potatoes, way more then I needed. So froze part of them and made potato cakes last night. I haven’t made them in years so I had to look up a recipe. It just wasn’t something we had very often. They turned out pretty good. I think today I’ll make ham, green beans and potatoes with the ham he sent home with me. Maybe I can manage to make a small batch! So not much else going on here. I’d love to be camping somewhere but need to get things done around here before I think about having fun. At least that’s what I keep telling myself! Coffee is on if anyone would like some! Have a great day and stay safe.

MorniNg Sharon and all who follow. Going to be a hot one here today to. Around 90. But they said it won’t be humid. Going to get very windy though, especially tomorrow. We are supposed to get the remanents of tropical storm Cristobal.

I finally got the last coat of paint on my big deck area, openEd it up to the dogs yesterday, then closed off the last remaining section Which is my side door landing and steps area, put first coat of paint on that. By then the temp was going up and between the sun on the wood and it besting down on me, I felt like a baked potato. Not good to be painting on that hot wood anyway good As paint doesn’t go on right. But I finished it off snd quit, need to do a second coat, but too hot today, need more paint and it’s going to rain tomorrow and mayBe a shower or two next couple days. So will wait till Saturday and finish.

Today I’m just going to relax. Might go for a ride later. Dogs are napping. No walks today. Unless it clouds up like they say this afternoon. Even then it will be a short one.

Found out my best friends I go visit, he has to have open heart surgery tomorrow. I can’t go over due to visiting restrictions and even she can’t really be with him either. She can see him before surgery tomorrow but I think she is going to go back home and wait. May as well as he won’t wrill be out of it for remainder of the dsy anyway. Will have to be on ventilator for awhile probably. I’ll go down and visit with her at home. Will find out more later today, after she runs some things he needs over there.

Getting on to lunch time bere, so going to fix a bite to eat. Have a nice day everyone :D

Glad you started this. Am posting to bring it to top, although I also posted in the old Monday post.

I really need a haircut, but am waiting until I head up north in Michigan where it is safer.

Tomorrow is my Friday. Yay, lol. I compared yesterday's sales with the comparable Monday from last year and it's miserable. I thought last year was slow, but nothing like this year. We're short a person and part of me wants to keep it this way because I'm bored as it is! Another part of me says it might get busy and I'll be sorry. I have another employee coming the end of the month that would make it a full staff, but one of my current employees might do something different for my boss and I'm behind giving her that opportunity... We'll see what happens.

Temps today are cold and windy. What a difference a day makes!

I love almost any kind of potato, so I'd also never turn down those gifted potatoes.

Seemed busier today but we had less of us working so maybe it wasn't. Had another guy having a rant against Floyd and the protests. Luckily, another stylist got him so I went into the breakroom until he left. Got another $20 tip today. Have been getting one or two every day and some $10 tips too. People are SO grateful to finally be able to get their hair cut!

Am trying to keep Maya and Lola separated more for now. Maya jumps on her back and rides her now so Lola can't get away from her. I sure hope she grows out of this stuff.

My microwave is working again. Will have to not cook potatoes in there so long. I usually cook them in there for 4 minutes and then put them in the oven for 20 more minutes, but still having a odor coming from the oven when I use it.

That's about it for today. Have a good night!

My camping trip is on so have spent the day getting ready. I got my 10,000 steps in today. One of the outside cats has an abscess on his front leg so brought him to the vet. I forgot to call in Sugar's prescription or bring the bottle. I figured I would be going back to pick up the cat but the vet called and wanted to know if I wanted him to neuter the cat while he was sedated. I told him to go ahead so I have to pick up the cat in the morning. Maybe that will cut down on the fighting. Went and picked up Sugar's prescription and some groceries. I hope the cat doesn't have to go camping.

I stopped at the local grocery to pick up a lunch. There is usually a line and everyone practices social distancing. A woman I use to work with came in and got right beside me. I tried to move some and she kept following me. You shouldn't have to tell a grown person to back off.

The temperature wasn't too high today but the heat index was 101. It was so humid. My glasses fogged up every time I went outside. I thought we were suppose to get some rain tonight but I don't see any on the radar.

My mother would make potato pancakes. I think she made too much mashed potatoes so she could make the potato cakes. If we had mashed potatoes the next meal we had potato cakes. I have tried to make them but they are too soft. Maybe I should try looking up a recipe.

I need to go to bed. I have to pick up the cat at 7:30 and try to get on the road before noon.

I love potato pancakes but they always have too much onion in them. I should try making some with no onions.
