It’s Friday!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

It’s Friday!

Good morning, It’s Friday, Not that it means anything to those of us who aren’t working, just another day of the week. Seems like everybody's been on the hot side this week. Even here, we have been in the mid to upper 80’s, a good 15 degrees above normal. At the moment it’s a comfortable 57 degrees here, sun is out, but clouds and rain are moving in. So that means my deck project will have to wait till tomorrow.

Been busy around here this past week, but have been reading to keep up with you all. And have taken a couple of afternoon drives with the pups as well. Got my yard mowed and trimmed, few flowers planted, front porch floor touched up with paint where needed, deck railings all painted, decks scraped where needed and am in process of sanding some areas. Paint will be next, but as I mentioned, on hold due to weather. Will have a 4 day window coming up starting tomorrow, but that will depend on how wet the wood gets. May have to wait till Sunday. .Next up will be a bit of paint on garage service door frame, the service door and the garage door. Decided that with all the virus stuff etc., this is good time to do house maintenance stuff and redo a little landscaping. Then will start looking into camping. Still have reservations for end of July.

Bit of advice for those in areas where it’s been very hot. Don’t leave hand sanitizer in your cars etc. Found out if it contains alcohol, it’s flammable and can ignite on it’s own in a hot vehicle :o

Guess I should get my day moving here. Might be able to get a little sanding done before rain comes in. The have a couple of errands to run. The pups are going to doggy spa tomorrow, so I will be able to work on decks while they are gone. Wish I could get my hair cut, but that will come soon.

Our Govenor lifted her Stay at Home order two weeks early and has now opened the State into Phase 4 of a 6 Phase plan to reopen the state. This allows most businesses to open in areas previously shut down, restaurants to allow dining in, but at 50% capacity etc. Libraries will open next Monday. Gyms, fitness centers, salons etc., are still closed, but pretty much everything else is a go. Masks are required in a lot of places and social distancing still required. This region and the U.P. have been in Phase 4 before the rest of the state as we have kept our numbers flat. They are of course monitoring numbers across the state. This region and the U.P. are going to be elevated to Phase 5, possibly today, which will allow everything to be open. Long as everybody does their part, we should be okay. There is one area in SW MI they are watching as cases seem to be climbing a bit, but they are only in Phase 4 and will not be elevated for awhile. There’s still a lot of apprehension out there which is good. Remains to be seen how summer tourist season goes. One ofmy afternoon drives was to Mackinaw City. Not very many people around up there and some of the businesses have elected not to open this summer as there‘S a lot of apprehension up there because they can’t see over 1 million tourists in that town over the course of the summer. So some have apparently decided that it is not worth putting their employees at risk as well as the expenses required to follow the protocols and everything necessary. IThty also not think that the tourist season will be aS busy this year either.

I am leaving West Branch SP in Ohio late this morning and spending the night on the Ohio Turnpike. They have RV electric hookups in some of the service areas in a special place. Cost is $20 but you need it in cash in one bill. Best part is water fill and dump station and ability to walk over to Panera for dinner! Then tomorrow to Maumee Bay SP for five days and then back to my son's driveway for two nights so I can get my new cap installed!

Turnpike is noisy, but it is very handy and on the way to a lot of places. I have work to do and can turn on TV so won't mind noise.

And, I finally found a Pedego dealer with the model and size bike I want. They will hold it for me until I can make it to Traverse City, MI, in a couple of weeks. Going there anyway to visit my niece so very good place to find it.

Been backing up my laptop. Got my two old portable hard drives out of the safety deposit account yesterday, so will update them both and put them back next week. I have a newer drive that I am using as I travel, so i keep that one up as I go, but I like to keep one in a safety deposit box in case I ever lose my motorhome.

Sue, I'll be at the upper campground at Wilderness on 6/22 leaving 6/25 for Munising. Could meet you in Mackinaw for lunch, and am even considering going over to the island one day if the weather is good. Want to smell some lilacs. Hope the fudge places are open in Mackinaw since I want to stock up!

It is getting hot and is really humid. I have been in and out about 3 times and had sweat running down my face and my hair is wet. Now they have moved the projected path of the storm back to the East. I talked to the guy that has cows here and he is watching the weather like I am. He will put the tractor and 4-wheeler up on the carport for me. He won't move the cows until late Saturday or Sunday morning because they are the easiest to catch. He has to have people on horses to get cattle he has in other places.

I think I'll go get my Friday fish dinner and pick up some of the prescription diet food that Frosty is on. I am slowly loading the camper. I'm not all that confident that we will have a campout. If we get the predicted rain I am looking for our reservations to get cancelled.

Judy, I wish more states would put camp sites along the roads. I think I saw that in New Jersey too.

It is very handy to have a separate parking area with electric hookups at a service area. No hunting around for a campground, checking in, or worrying about finding a spot. And my experience has been that there are always a lot of spots available.

For me, the best part is being able to walk over to a food court and grab some takeout. These RV spots are located at about every other service area and some of them are pull-throughs so can handle bigger vehicles. I picked this one because it had a Panera, whcih Iike.

Only rule is that you have to leave in the morning and cannot stay more than one night. Also have to have correct change, in the form of a $20 bill.

Finally getting on here after a couple days of work, etc.

Worked most of the day today again, but still not very busy yet. We had time today to cut each other's hair. I just got the back on mine cut. Am thinking of growing it back into a layered bob. It is halfway there already from the 2 1/2 months of lockdown.

Have had some requests and have had a few $20 tips from people I have never cut before. Was late for work the last 2 days because my alarm clock kept messing up. Have been having issues with the clock this past week so I ordered a new one from Amazon which I got today. Hopefully, I will get up and get to work tomorrow on time! I think this one will be much better for several reasons. One of the features is the option of waking to either the radio or one of several nature sounds. Much better than an irritating beeping sound! It also projects the time on the ceiling at night. I was supposed to get it delivered tomorrow but got it a day early which was a good thing. All Amazon packages I get go thru the Redlands, CA Amazon warehouse before coming here. Well, that warehouse was destroyed this afternoon by a fire. One more item I am expecting luckily left that warehouse early this afternoon just before the fire broke out so I will still get that.

It cooled off some today and tonight it really cooled off and the wind picked up a lot! Very windy out now so I opened all the windows tonight and actually had to close my bedroom windows most of the way because it actually was getting cold in here. :o

Just when I think Maya is finally getting better with the biting, she gets all out of control and starts in again! I have locked her in the bedroom with me tonight to give Lola a break again. Now Maya jumps on her back and which really pisses Lola off. Maybe I need to use one of Lola's calming collars on her and see if that will settle her down some.

Today is the one year anniversary of moving into this house! Can't believe it has been a whole year already! Time flies when you are having fun!

Time for bed! Good night! :D
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
