Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Wednesday May 27

Good Afternoon, Nice day, low 70s. Have really put on weight this month. Heading back to my old neighborhood to walk the country roads. Yesterday during the walk had a pretty water view, horses grazing in a field and birds singing. Does a body good. Be safe

Good morning Shirl and all who follow!

I guess our managers are meeting with the owners tomorrow to go over the guidelines, etc for the shops. Then my shop will have a meeting on Friday before we open. There will be a lot of changes. I stopped at the WM where the new shop is going in, to check it out, and saw that nothing has been done to it at all yet. There is a sign up saying Great Clips Opening Soon but the space is completely gutted yet (it used to be another salon).

I need to get my laundry done before Saturday and have everything ready to return to work (I brought all my stuff home when we closed).

We may tie a record at 112* today but still better than the 118* they had predicted a week ago. It is hot either way.

Maya's fish arrived. Got it charged up. It is really cute and flops just like a real fish! She is not too sure what to make of it yet, tho. Her biting isn't getting any better. Now when I shout "no!" at her, she puts her ears back and bites even harder! I just have to keep scruffing her and putting her on the floor. She is biting my face more now too. Not a good thing. I sure hope she grows out of this soon! I got her a new smaller collar and she seems fine with wearing it, altho the bell kind of drives her crazy. I like the bell because I know where she is when I can't see her.

I need to rearrange the furniture in my living room. Right now the recliner is in front of the TV so I sit there. I want to switch that with the love seat so I can sit on that instead, to watch TV on. I am so paranoid with the recliner and having Maya running underneath it and potentially getting really hurt while I am in it. I always make sure I know where she is before getting in and out of it but am worried I will forget one time.

I better get busy here with stuff. Have a good day!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Cats, especially young cats, can really get into trouble and lose one of their nine lives! I used to live in a condo with cathedral ceilings and a ledge at 9' high. My son's last cat used to manage to climb on furniture and a bookcase to get to that ledge. Then, I also had a kind of open area between my kitchen where you could look down into the two-story stairwell over a sort of ledge. And when she wasn't practicing her acrobatics on that, she was trying to get into my utility closet so she could climb behind the furnace! I ended up taping the utility room door closed because she could push it open and moved the furniture she was using to climb. And I also worried about my recliner! And I hate to say that she never really grew up. Got older but still scared me to death. His new, almost grown kitten is now working on getting into the basement storage room and exploring behind boxes, baskets, and a whole lot of stuff!

I spent two hours in his driveway today cleaning out two bins, but it was really hot, so I got overheated fast. Did a lot of drinking of water, but as I get older, it gets harder for me to cool down. I probably tossed out 125 pounds of stuff I never used and mostly had forgotten I had, but will have to work on it on a cooler day. In nearby state park now, and going to rest up for a few days, except getting cortisone injection on Friday in my sore shoulder and need to go electric bike shopping on Saturday. Son and kids will no doubt go back to Lake Erie next weekend, but I am staying here for next 10 days.

Hope your employer gets things ready to go in two days, Barbie!

My manager was at the shop earlier today getting stuff ready and said that 20 people showed up at the door asking if we were open yet. We are gonna be swamped for quite awhile! I hope tips are good!

They are providing disposable masks for us but I ordered a few better ones. I discovered the ones I made press too much on my face and make it harder to breath, plus make my nose run, so that isn't gonna be good for work. I need some space in there! I just ordered another pair of shears to use since we have to disinfect them after each haircut and I would like to have a backup pair. They aren't cheap but will also come in handy for home haircuts. The cheap ones I bought a few months ago are worthless. I bought the same ones I use at work and have had for almost 20 years so I know they will last a long time. Also ordered some reading glasses for work. I just don't see well up close anymore and have barely gotten by without wearing glasses for work. I have been cutting myself more so I know I am not seeing as clearly. I should have the new ones by Friday hopefully. I got the half lenses (librarian style  ) so I can still look up into the mirror and see clearly there. My regular glasses are for distance. I know I should get bifocals but not sure I could get used to them.

I got my furniture moved around and removed the rug that just gets too dirty (and Lola aims for when she gets sick!) and am cleaning up some other things I have in there, like some of my gourd art stuff. Getting that organized so I can move it out to the porch later.

Maya luckily isn't jumping on stuff yet. Her only issue is the biting. (as I type this she is rubbing up against my neck and face purring! But she is sleepy so is being sweet! ).

Hi everyone!

Shirl, I'm so glad the weather is decent in MD! Judy, glad you got some of your compartments cleaned out and rearranged. Barbie, I hope Maya breaks from her biting habit.

Steve & I left Ocala this morning and are in Townsend GA for two weeks. We have a beautiful waterfront site and when we're not having rain, which we've had lots of lately, we will enjoy it and maybe be able to go kayaking. There are lots of maneuvers going on over us way above the clouds which I love. I had forgotten about those until we arrived at this campground, which I now remember. The view of the lake in front of us is wonderful. I had also forgotten about the check points at the FL state line going into FL, which I read about in the paper some weeks back. All the semis are in a separate line to continue south but all cars must go through the check point and are told to go into quarantine for two weeks after entering the state. Maybe we'll have to go through that as well when we come back in the fall.

I never sleep well the night of the day we get on the road, which means I didn't sleep well last night, but since we're going to stay put for a couple weeks, tonight will be the night for a good nights sleep. Looking forward to that. Have a good night.

Irmi, I want to say congrats on getting your Florida site. It must feel wonderful to know you'll have that to winter in.

Today is my Friday and I'm exhausted! I'm actually writing this in bed and it's not 9 yet. I have grocery pickups scheduled for Walmart and Safeway tomorrow. No clue what the rest of my day will entail.

loosely in my mind I had what I wanted to accomplish today... was going to pat myself on the back when as I was putting clothes away saw some that didn't make it into the washer... guess I will take them up and make up a batch with some of dd's sometime soon. It was actually warm enough although I don't know how hot it got that I opened the windows and the door first time that has all happened in a few months at least since I left Q but it seems like to me that the spring was a cooler one so if I did it was rare.. I do now have only one window left hope I am so used to long sleeves that with just short ones was feeling chilled so closed them all but the one it may get closed soon as well
I bet you will be busy Barbi.... I would love to have my hair cut perhaps when I go down to Utah I will get an appointment with my great niece... haven't seen her for most of her life.. my nephews story Barbi might give you hope remind me one day to tell you... don't know when I will go down need to check with both of my daughters and see when will be a good time for me to venture down...
I had thought that I would start on something today but didn't need to do that soon two afghans to finish before I leave won't happen if I don't begin soon!!!
enjoy your down time Judi
and Irmi that sounds like such a pretty park enjoy yourself
you all take care
