Warm Tuesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Warm Tuesday

Postby Colliemom » Tue May 26, 2020 8:41 am

Good Morning everyone. Realty warm here this week. Temps in mid to upper 80’s. 10 to 15 degrees above normal. Then later this week we are supposed to go a bit below normal. Crazy weather. Actually I will be glad when it does cool down because I need to do some painting on my porch and my decks and it’s just too warm right now to do it. The for kids are going to be glad to because they do not like this weather. Neither do I.

So being that it is too warm to do anything outside I am going to run some facemask down to my friends about 30 miles from here do a quick visit and head back home. We are still under a stay at home order here but we can take a drive and 30 miles is not that far for a drive. We will of course keep our social distance. Other than that, nothing planned for today.

Lyn, I sent you a PM.

I guess everybody enjoyed the Memorial Day weekend up here. there were people who spent the day at the beaches because of the heat, but everybody was keeping their social distancIng. However there was a couple who came up to visit family from out of state and while they were here And they tested positive for the virus, One of them is in the hospital and the other does not require hospitalization, but the family now Has to stay in quarantine and will be monitored for 14 days. There does not appear to be any Outside contacts though. Why they came up here to begin with is beyond me. But it just goes to show you how fast things can spread. It remains to be seen whether or not there are any more virus cases reported in northern Michigan from this past weekend. These people are not in my area though.

Hope you all have a good day out there today and stay safe and healthy.

Had a nice afternoon yesterday at my son's house. We went for a boat ride again, but this time pulling a big tube, kids and son taking turns. But this morning, son is out shopping for a bigger and more stable something to pull behind the boat. The tube is meant to be towed, but it is hard for the kids to steer, and there are better ones. Then tomorrow morning I go in for my cat scan and to a state park for 10 days. Will not spend much time at son's but I did ask him if I could pull into his driveway and park in the middle one day to do a complete clean-out of all of my storage areas underneath. I will try to leave some stuff in his basement so I am not hauling around stuff I do not really need.

Then, just waiting for my new cap to be ready and to get one or two more doctor appointments while I am here.

We had rain come through during the night and got a half inch of rain. The lights blinked once last night and again early this morning. Everything going off and coming back on makes enough noise to wake me up. It's 82 and overcast and will probably have some more showers.

I had some sausage that needed to be cooked so fried it, cooked it in a gravy and ate it on rice. Not great but keeps me from going to town. It seems like there was something I wanted yesterday but don't remember what it was. I need to mail my electric payment and don't like to put a check on the side of the road.

I have 2 cats that need to go to the spay and neuter clinic. I see that they are open again. I don't know how they are going to handle social distancing. They have a small lobby and there would be 20 people jammed in there with kennels. I don't really want to get involved in that. I just don't feel like doing much of anything. A friend posted that she is camping in Mississippi this coming weekend. I looked up the campground and it would be a 5 hour drive. I just don't feel like making that drive.

Martha, when I went to the vet, they took our pets inside and made us all wait outside while they took care of the animals. The vet and his assistant then came outside to talk to each of us and bring our pets to us, took our payments and came back out with our receipts.

I went to WM earlier to get a prescription refilled and pick up a few things, then stopped at PetCo and got the long skinny dog toy that was mentioned on here the other day, for Maya. She loves it! Now she will hopefully, leave my arms alone! Her fish toy is being delivered today too.

Just heard that salons are being allowed to open here now but with major restrictions. Still waiting to hear what those will be. I guess my lazy days are about to end! :o
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Barbie, my vet is operating like yours. At the spay and neuter clinic they have numbers hanging outside and a box of clipboards with forms to fill out. Everyone shows up at the same time and at 7:30 they open the door. Hopefully they will now just call people one at a time. I need to call and make an appointment. When you pick up your cat you take a number and at 4:30 they open the door. I'm not going unless they are taking people one at a time.

Annie's favorite toy is Foxie, a red and white fox looking thing. For some reason she brings her toys in my office and drops them by my chair. Right now there are 3 catnip mice, Foxie and two of the catnip toys I made out of old jeans. I gather them all up and put them back in the toy box and she brings them back. I'm glad she is back to her old self after her allergy shot.

this was a lazy day one just spent veggie out on FB or coloring didn't even read or crochet or anything although I just did do a batch of clothing which was a must do... was going to fix supper but dd decided to do Hello Fresh although we decided to use the broccoli up instead of the beans they sent what was left over I think will make into broccoli cheese soup... my other dd mentioned going over to my mom's for a couple of days with me going with her and coming home and she would stay then I would come over the next day and pick her up... my brother took mom to Yellowstone today and of course we were at the cemetery on Sunday I am concerned that it might be too much for her sorta think that perhaps next week would be better... also we gave thought to going over to Dubois Wy on Sat to my sister in laws grave on Sat and would take mom with us I just think she will be too tired... will need to give it some thought and discussion.
did call my nephew told him what the place said that I took the truck to the other day bottom line is he questions their thoughts... so will take it down to my nephew some time soon... I can go see the baby but can't hold him not even sure if I can go into the house... guess until I talk with my dd I won't know my second born dd talked with her I didn't when you get second hand information it's sometimes not quite as understandable.... as my nephew said he doesn't have a crystal ball and so can't say for sure until he looks at it but he did say that before they said that I needed a new motor they should have spent a couple hours on it and according to what he could find on the company they deal mostly in cars and light weight diesels so gave me some hope...
you all have a good day
