Shirl’s Tuesday Adventure

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Shirl’s Tuesday Adventure

Morning All, Big Walmart day. As usual I fumble my way through the internet, arriving where I want to go but don’t know how I got there. Walmart confirmed my order. Do they let me know order is ready by email or do I just show up at time I requested. If successful will love this procedure instead of wandering up and down store isles trying to find items. On the positive side Waundering is good exercise. Be safe

I have had excellent luck with Walmart delivery, although I have not tried Walmart pick-up. Like you, I am finding that I much prefer doing my grocery shopping sitting on my couch instead of wandering up endless aisles (and often still not being able to find what I want).

I have tried delivery from my local Raley's grocery store, and from Instacart. Have had the best results from Walmart, and the lowest prices for delivery from Walmart as well.

LOL. I sound like a commercial: GO Walmart!!

Good luck with your order!

Just talked to #1 granddaughter, she recommended local Walmart pickup. Walmart messed up her first order and gave her cookies while she waited. I like cookies :D Just received email listing 4 items substituted which are acceptable. Think I’m going to like this.

They will send you an email when it is ready for pickup. Then when you get there, there is a sign with a phone number on it to call and they will bring your stuff out. Pretty convenient!

I made a big batch of tuna salad yesterday so that should last me a few days at least!

Was cool and breezy all night. Great having the windows open, altho at one point I had to close them because it got too chilly! Got them open again this morning. Only supposed to get to the mid 80's today but then start warming back up again. I should go for a walk today!

I haven't done the online class for work yet and now they sent me several more to take, so I guess I better get on that! It sounds like we may be opening up in a couple weeks from now. The owners have several shops in Phoenix and those opened up last week so now they have an idea of how things need to be done here, so that will help. I hope we don't get any idiots who want to break the rules and cause problems! :o

Maya's eyes are changing a bit. They are still blue around the outside but a little more green in the middle. Very pretty! She goes in to the vet on Friday for a checkup and first shots. Her stools are good now, but Lola is still having issues. I subQ'd her yesterday and she seems a little perkier today, altho still crabby. They are both on my bed now tho, but at opposite ends.

I think I will have lunch out on my deck today on my new little table! I should also bring in the bins of books I have on the deck and put them away in my bedroom. Some will go in the upper cabinets and others will stay in bins under the bed. I have tension bars for the cabinets in case of an earthquake so the books don't come flying out.

They cancelled the potluck BBQ for Memorial Day here. We are all disappointed but can understand that it is a little risky yet. Maybe we can do a 4th of July BBQ by then. People are antsy to socialize again.

Enjoy your day!

Back home from Walmart, I was the only car there. Barbie, just as you said, was a pleasant experience. Will continue to shop this way. My son surprise me with a dozen soft crabs so it has been a great day.
Anne, I’m with you, GO WALMART! :D

Shirl, Walmart does pick up right. I love it. Week before last I did a Walmart pickup and Safeway pickup the same morning. Safeway pickup was good, but they need some improvement. They should do a Walmart pickup to see the difference!

My water hose sprung a leak today. It sends it must not have happened too long before I came home, but it looked like a fountain. Actually was pretty. Luckily I had a new hose ready to go.

Ty and I were going to walk with one of the other workers and her dog to the cemetery after work. I can usually let Ty run free there and it's a good walk for both of us. But aside from my fountain it's hotter than I like walking him that distance, so we'll do it another day. I have my a.c. on now.

Beth, your weather has changed, it seemed like it was snowing not that long ago and now air conditioning. It has warmed back up here again. I have been trying to walk every day again but my knee is bothering me again. I put a brace on and that helps some. My knee doesn't hurt at all if I'm not walking.

I was out of cooked bacon so baked a pound of bacon this morning. Sunday I had made a batch of my favorite cookie dough and froze it. Since I had the oven on I baked 5 cookies. The only way I can kind of control the cookie habit is keeping the dough frozen.

The estate lawyer sent me an email with the land appraisals. OMG, what a confusing mess. Harold's dad ran a country store for years and bought small pieces of property in the area. Most of the land is an undivided interest in inherited land. The maps attached are poor quality and I can't even tell where the land is. I am going to have to take it to the neighbor and see if he can figure it out.

Two of my friends are sending me pictures of the fish they are catching where they are camping. I should have gone but just don't feel like going anywhere.

I finally got the shepherds hooks up and most of the feeders up still need to put up hummingbird feeders as well as another finch feeder... but it was quite windy and I was done with it... and the buggers have eaten all that was out... when in Q the Niger seed was the favorite the sunflower seeds lasted a lot longer here all is consumed... whoever coined the phase now it's gone but the one about eating like a bird indicating that one didn't eat much never feed birds  If I didn't enjoy watching them I would not put out the feeders but it brings life to the area...
speaking of life the nanny finally gave birth twins!!! so hopefully that is all of the expected new borns need to go up and see them... not sure how many goats they took to the farm but at least 5 perhaps more... my sil inherited his parents farm in another part of the state... because they were impossible to keep fenced up and causing damage to some things they took them to the farm yesterday along with Happy the goose she was just getting too vocal :o my sil is a deputy sheriff and has odd hours so being able to sleep is necessary. Still there are 10 goats here all nanny's with their new born I believe.
cooling off enough I may have to put heat on... haven't had to till fairly late but I am feeling it right now.. could be the cold banana pudding I just eat
you were talking about common names mine has never been a common name so very rare to have anyone in the same area with my name that when there is you usually know it... but that said for several years in our church in SLC there was 3 Sheila's so unusual and all spelled the same
you all have a good day

Sheila, I love baby goats! They are adorable! I have always liked the name 'Sheila". I actually remember a girl named Sheila in the children's choir at church, back when I was maybe 4 years old! There was also a girl named Beth too. I remember singing Away In The Manger at the Christmas service. Probably one of my earliest memories.

Beth, your hose must have thought you needed a relaxing water feature in your yard! My hose has a small leak now but I am not gonna replace it. I might try to patch it. I just have to remember to turn the water off at the faucet so it doesn't keep leaking all day.

I managed to go thru all the bins of books I had on the deck and go thru them all, organize them and put them in the bedroom cabinets. There are a few bins left but they are not books I want to read again for awhile so they can go under my bed. The bins are all labeled to make it easier to find any books I might be looking for later. I don't have as many books as I thought I did which is good! So that was a good sized project out of the way. I found a couple junior high and high school yearbooks so I have been looking thru those and reminiscing.

I also ordered a mini hand held circular saw that should arrive tomorrow. Now I can go buy the lattice that I want to put around my deck railing. That will look nice and keep the delivery guys from putting my packages where I won't find them.

Still have a few bins full of nic nacs and stuff but I can't do much with those until I get the porch cleaned up and organized so I can put them out there. That will be awhile yet.

One of my hibiscus plants is still alive and actually bloomed yesterday! The other one was totally dead. This one still had a few green leaves on it so I nursed it a little and it came back! Yay! I am seeing fire ants again. Don't know where their nest is so I will probably have to get a bug guy out to get rid of them. I sure don't want them getting inside my house!!

Very windy tonight so I have the windows open again and it has really cooled off now since the sun set. I am enjoying it as much as possible since this might be the last cool nights we have for a long time! I got a swim suit I ordered a couple weeks ago. It just barely fits :o but looks nice. I have several swim suits but they are all swim dresses. Those are nice for the beach but not for actually swimming since the dress part wants to float! This one is a tankini so it is two-piece but looks like a one-piece. Also looks like it has a skirt but isn't gonna float up when I get into the pool. I need to lose a few pounds so maybe that is the incentive I need! I think I pretty much have the pools to myself since I never see anyone in any of them. So much for all the whining about opening the pools around here!

Nothing on TV lately so have been reading in the evenings before going to bed. Have lots of new books and some old ones I came across that I haven't read yet, that will keep me busy! Not that I don't have a ton of other things to do. I am gonna kick myself when I go back to work, for not having taken advantage of all the time off to get all my projects done.

Good night gals!
