Rainy Thursday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Rainy Thursday

Postby Bethers » Thu May 14, 2020 12:26 pm

Ty and I stopped in the store and stayed over an hour. My plans were to revisit Custer State Park, but after coming home and eating something the rains came. I could still go, but they are showing no rain Sunday and I'll have that day off, so might as well go then instead. Ty's thrilled to have me home today. I was thrilled after waking up around 5:15, to say nope, not getting up and going back to sleep.

Happy Thursday everyone.

Good morning Beth! (actually it is noon here!). Is the store, and that area in general, very busy? Are other businesses there open yet?

I missed a dental appointment this morning. I was thinking it was Wednesday today so I thought my appointment was for tomorrow. Am working on getting it rescheduled. Hard to keep track of the days now!

One of my eyes has been itchy and watery for a couple weeks now. Not sure what the problem is. I need to pick up some drops for it today. Just the one eye, so must not be allergies.

Still have my windows open and still feeling comfortable, so that's good! No wind today tho. That usually picks up in the late afternoon tho.

I need to call the vet to see if they found anything in Maya's stool that was of concern. She still has loose stools. I took her off the canned food so she is just eating her IAM's kitten kibble.

I should go use the pool now since no one else is using it (there is one just down the street from me). All that complaining about opening up the pools and no one is using them now anyways. Go figure!

Have a good day! :D
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

I didn't wake up until 8:00 this morning which is unusual for me. Usually the cats or the dog wake me up early.

I loaded the mower and went to mow in Maurice. Evidently they have been getting more rain than here. I could only mow part of the yard because I was afraid I would bog the mower. I just managed to get the mower loaded back up and get in the truck and it started storming. I washed the green mold or mildew off the truck. I need to remember to get a new sprayer for the hose. The one I have leaks and I get about as wet as what I'm trying to wash. It still hasn't rained at the house. My neighbor is mowing and the dust is flying.

Whew! I have packed up everything from the house that we wanted to keep, which easily fit into an 8 X 8' pod, which will be shipped to California where the other POA lives. I hope to be in California by mid-November so will spend a week in southern CA and we can go through it all together. I did take my uncle's military stuff with me and his diplomas and such. I also have all the jewelry to put in a safety deposit box for the meantime. I also took four of the crazy bird prints and a couple of lamps, one with a duck decoy on it and another with a ceramic bird house. And a few other small things.

The furniture is being left behind, to be picked up by Habitat. Clothing is bagged and will be picked up by some other charity. Some of the clothing and shoes were brand-new with tags still on them--including at least five evening dresses! We called over several neighbors who had helped my aunt and uncle when they were in the beginning stages of dementia, bringing them food and taking them to doctor's offices and for groceries. We told them to help themselves to any of the crystal, china, figurines, and whatever, so they did and also took some small things from some other people they knew who knew my aunt and uncle.

There were several boxes of Waterford crystal and some of it is still there. Overall an incredible amount of stuff, but we found stuff they had saved from their childhood and young adulthood--treasures! I would never have been able to do all this without help. I had hired the realtor's stepson to lift things and haul boxes, and the neighbor ladies came over individually and in groups for several hours each of the seven days we worked to go through the mess. We all wore masks and stayed as far apart as we could. These are all retirees, so no one has been going to jobs or other events for a long time, which was good, so I hope none of us caught anything from the rest of us. Luckily, it is a very isolated community.

Anyway, tomorrow morning I head northeast to southeastern Ohio. Will be glad to get out of these curvy roads with no shoulders that go up and down over mountains--not fun driving in a motorhome!

And did I mention that I don't think my back will ever be the same? It and the rest of my body really aches, so I am looking forward to a few days of rest.

Judy, so glad you are finally done with all that! Too bad you can't go get a massage for your back! You probably just strained some muscles you haven't used in awhile. Get some CBD lotion to rub on it.

Working on the rest of the dishes today. I think I need to get rid of some of them. I really don't need that many dishes and containers!

Maya is sleeping on my neck right now having dreams of chasing feathery toys on strings! I put down a double pet dish with canned cat food earlier today and both kitties came running and actually ate together without complaint!

Called the vet and the test on her fecal came back negative for any worms, etc. So probably just her food. Will maybe try some of Lola's food on her and see if that helps.

Eating together!

we sure are stuck in the cloudy drizzlely days although today didn't notice wind that is always good.. have for the past couple of days had the heat on for the majority of the day... it's just cold!!!
I hadn't thought Barbie of the cleaning the chairs ect. totally makes sense.. Probably the ones that were complaining have left
had planned on making a grilled cheese sandwich for lunch when I got a text saying lunch was ready... not used to getting food in the day time as well... but dd had signed up for Hello Fresh and these were some for some reason didn't get eaten last week so she wanted to used them up... had one last night then today... last nights was ok but just that wouldn't want to order it again... today's was good.
think I am going to make Navajo Taco's Sunday
Today was my great granddaughter's first birthday so we gathered at their house... and enjoyable time
she still isn't sure about me. it was fun watching her pull out the tissue paper or the paper off of boxes. she enjoyed her things... my grandson gave her one of his stuffed toys a sloth has big eyes... she didn't really want anything to do with it until they quickly put it in a bag with some of the tissue she had already pulled out and gave the bag to her then she was excited to find the toy and hugged it... was really cute and she got her first dolly... love at first sight
didn't accomplish all that I wanted to do think what I've done has overwhelmed me not sure where to start so it's easier to FB it... did get the top of the kennel ready for the bins that I put on them so then I will put what I want to keep in one or more hopefully one... and then figure out how to keep my stack of magazines and what not organized ...
I'm glad the Lola and the kitty are doing well one day I will remember her name
