Monday, Monday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Monday, Monday

Good morning Everybody, Mondays are not the same any more as many people are not going back to work after the weekend. We are still shut down here, but the sun is shining and my garden looks beautiful. I don’t miss the shopping and there is a lot of free entertainment online, but I do miss terribly not getting together with people. I miss everybody so much. My cat, “ Purrfect” gets tired of my stories! Keep smiling and washing your hands. Peggy

Just hanging out in bed with my kitty.

It is supposed to be cooling off now but yesterday felt hotter than ever. It felt very humid out so that can make a big difference in how hot it feels.

We had a cluster of earthquakes yesterday south of here, closer to San Diego, near the Salton Sea. I didn't feel any but I was out on a store run. You can't usually feel them while in a car unless it is a big one. Altho I just felt a little jolt a couple minutes ago so probably an aftershock. (I just checked the earthquake map. 3.1 in Anza west of me where the quakes happened last month.)

I am on the shop payroll starting today but haven't heard anything about the on-line classes we are supposed to be taking.

Need to get up shortly and tackle the kitchen today. Have a good day! :D
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Good afternoon. I’m having a lazy day today after a crazy week end. Early Saturday morning I got a call from my good friend letting me know that her 89 year old MIL had passed away. She had been hospitalized a couple of weeks ago after testing positive to this virus. She will be so missed. So turned out that her husband wanted to stay busy and wanted to know if they could come up and start the project to repair the water damage over my dining room window. So the long story short that’s what we did. It was so cold with snow squalls all day but phase one got done with me cleaning up after they left. I figured it was the least I could do to contribute to the project! Then they came back yesterday and finished the brick work. That got me up early since they were here about 8:15! That’s early for me! They left about noon an I got the lawn mowed and swept the driveway of all the yellow stuff from these trees. And managed to get a few other little things done. Guess there is something to getting moving early! Not that I plan on making it a habit. I’m just not a morning person! Anyway, today is damp and rainy so it’ll be inside tasks. My plans to go to the grocery store got derailed so I’ll need to do that in the next couple of days. We have another freeze warning for tonight. This is so crazy. My ferns that are starting to sprout up are all drooped over but hopefully they’ll come back with new growth. Luckily I haven’t tried to get any other plants in the ground so we’ll see what happens. I was invited to go camping this week end at the state park not far from here but looking like rain all 3 days so that’s out for me. I don’t want to deal with a wet dog and to have to stay inside all the time. I’d rather be able to be outside enjoying the sun! So that’s about it for me today. Hope you all have a great day and stay safe.

Relaxing after my long day sorting and packing up my aunt's house. I am less tired than I was on Friday and Saturday, so that is good. In the morning, I packed up one box of mementos we wanted to save, but then spent the rest of the day going through papers, videotapes, and CDs. And just when I would think I had the last box of papers, someone would find another one. I had my usual helper, but the older couple across the street came over to scrounge the china figurines and crystal/glass stuff, and stayed around to clean out the garage while i sat in the breakfast room surrounded by boxes of stuff everyone kept bringing me. Everyone wore masks and stayed apart, so I think it was OK.

Most of the sorting I did was going through 20 years of junk to find the important things. Treasures included a box of several strings of more pearls, some gold and some really old silver jewelry, and photos to pack up. The thing is that they tucked away "treasures" in the strangest places, like jewelry in old purses and in the many drawers hidden among the old cosmetics, half-used tubes of toothpaste, empty kleenex boxes, and other junk that we tossed. (So far have gone through 65 large trash can bags!!) Found the marriage license I need for her SS to switch to her husband's in a box in the garage under a pile of the hundreds of old magazines she has saved. Also found all the old receipts documenting what they spent building the house so we can declare a loss on income tax in a beat-up box in the garage under a pile of other boxes of junk! Found an iPad and two missing cell phones in a paper bag in closet!!

Going to take my three weeks of laundry over tomorrow and run it through the washer and dryer. Figure that is safer than using a public or campground laundromat.

We decided to get a small shipping pod and ship everything to California to the other POAs town. I am planning to go down there and spent a week in mid-December so we can really take the time to go through all that I have packed up and decide who to distribute things to.
