A Sunny May Sunday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

A Sunny May Sunday

Postby Colliemom » Sun May 03, 2020 9:07 am

A beautiful but cool Subday morning here in Northern Michigan. Be a good working outside day. Need to remove my toNneau cover on my truck in prep for getting a spray in bedliner put on Next Tuesday. Shouldn’t take ling. Also want to start installing the lawn edging I bought this week and remove the ties I put down before. Then of course, the afternoon dog walk. Molly has been wanting to head to the woods, so I guess I will indulge her wishes today.

Got my one other closet painted yesterday, so that’s done. Put the stuff back in yesterday afternoon. Paint is put away for now.

Barbie, I agree with you on people’s attitudes these days. Just like the last protest at the Capital here this past week. People showed up with guns which are allowed, but storming the Capital and trying to get into the House Chambers while they were in session went too far. Always those select few who ruin it for everybody. Haven’t heard any issues with masks, but violating the Executive order is a misdemeanor and can result in fines and jail time. Businesses do have the right to enforce the mask rules in their businesses. Going to be an Interesting summer. We or at least those who are demanding things open up, may pay for this before it's over.

Beth, glad business is doing well so far. Sorry about the no show. I take it that Linda is there?

Times a wastin here, so gonna get a move in. Have a nice day everyone. Stay safe and healthy.

Good May morning. I’ve been reading all the posts but really nothing much happening here to write about! I’m just trying to keep my head on straight with all that’s going on as I’m sure all of you are doing too. I did finally brave Sam’s the other day. It was a busy place and gas lines were long too. I still need to go to the store for normal things but will wait until this week sometime. We had a beautiful day yesterday and supposed to go into the 70’s today so yard day again. I finally pulled out the little trailer that was filled with bags of leaves to the project yesterday, 26 bags to dump. I’ve got to quit just letting them pile up. Then pup and I had a short walk. Made him happy. I managed to do some clean up in the garage and back porch too. I’m still debating on what to do about dewinterizing Lola but now thinking maybe I will. Good friends managed to jump in last night and have reservations at a close state park for the 15th but when I tried there was nothing available online so guess we’ll just have to see what developes! I’m really getting antsy to get out for a few days.
My best friend’s mil is in the hospital with the virus, it’ll be a week tomorrow. She in her mid 80’s and has been up and down but so far no ventilator so we’re hoping that’s good news. She was one of 2 from the care home she lives at. One employee and her so far the only ones. They locked down back in early March so no outside contact so that’s good too. For you medical gals....is 3 liters of oxygen a lot?
So that’s about it from my little part of the world. Time to quit procrastinating and get out in the yard. It rained last night so leaves are wet but I’m determined to get some cleaned up today! Beth, glad you made it and are settled in to the store. Hope you hear from your no show. Barbie, loved your gourd. Sue, you make me tired just reading about all you do! I know I’m missing some of you but love reading the posts everyday! Be safe and have some fun today!

Good morning, thought I would share my morning chuckle. A month ago I ask my son to rig up a rope and fastener for me to use in case the apartment building was shut down or some other horrible thing. He still thinks I have all my marbles so he did. This morning I got a text to lower the rope from my balcony. He attached a bucket with fresh fish from his morning trip. He is a shy guy and hopes we won’t be on Facebook tomorrow. We had a good laugh.

Sharon, I just found this... "Oxygen is given at a certain speed or rate which is measured in liters per minute. A 2 liter per minute rate is quite common in adults, although when there is severe shortness of breath, the rate is increased to 3, 4 or 5 liters/minute in some cases.". Hope that helps.

Just waking up here. Gonna watch church and then not sure what else today.

Enjoy your day! :D

Hi ladies!

Barbie, I'm glad you looked that up about the oxygen that Sharon asked about, because I had no idea. We have an acquaintance in MD that is a workamper at our "local to us" campground that is on a respirator due to the virus. He's about our age, so I'm very concerned about him.

We attended church this morning and about 3/4 of our congregation was there. There was no coffee hour, which we have every Sunday after the service and that will be on hold indefinitely. The congregation met outside after church to mingle before leaving, following the social distancing rules. Only 3 people were allowed per pew for the service, unless they were immediate family.

I can't remember if I've mentioned that I've taken up coloring in the adult coloring books, but the book I use is called Curious Creatures, which are creatures from anywhere, both on land or in the water. So I Google every critter to see what they're supposed to look like, color some, look at pictures again, and color some more. Some pictures, coloring up to several hours a day, have taken close to a week. I'm enjoying this, other than one that looks like a vulture. I'm glad that one is finally done. Right now I'm working on a rhinoceros Hornbeck.

We plan on being in Ocala until the latter part of this month and will slowly make our way back to MD, depending on what the virus does. Please stay safe.

Good morning. Had a rainy damp day yesterday but today it is cool but sun is out and we should reach 62 today, only 53 right now but started out at 39 so will be a good day for working in my storage unit.

My social calendar is full the next couple of days LOL Eye doctor on Monday, Rheumatologist on Tuesday....oh yeah I am gettin' outta dodge ha ha

Took the dog for a short walk, picked up the mail, visited with a friend outside for a few and now back home ready to get something done.

Irmi how is the lot purchase going? Shirl fresh fish sounds like an excellent dinner. I had salmon last night but bought at the store, but it was good, had fresh green beans with it. Tasty.

Sharon oxygen can be whatever it takes to keep your O2 sats above 91 (desirable). Only up to 5 liters is usually given by nasal cannula, if your needs increase that is when they decide to use a mask or intubate you and put you on a ventilator. 3L is not outrageous and it depends on the type of nasal cannula which is more comfortable for patients than an O2 mask. You can use a higher percent of O2 with a mask and need higher flow rates with a minimum of 6L to flush out the carbon diozide that you exhale. There are several different types of masks rebreather, venturi etc. More info than you want I am sure.

Just read your post from late last night, Barbie. Yes, all that stuff is really stupid and makes a mockery of being a law-abiding citizen. Lots of bullies running around. And I had not heard of the Mohave Desert rock paining. Remember those idiot boy scout leaders a few years back who thought it would be fun to knock over some ancient rocks on a ridge in a Utah state park?? Can't remember all the details, but really dumb. And they got probation and a small fine--probably because they were such fine, upstanding citizens! :(

Beautiful day, but I am inside getting some work done on my class and watching TV. Been liking all the zoo programs and watching the Australia ones right now.

Yes, Linda is here and started working Friday, the day we opened. I believe I've been very lucky as this other lady is my first no show. I here about then often, but haven't experienced it before. And the amount of contact she and I had, up to less than two weeks ago, I'm just stunned. Which is why I worry, especially with this virus around.

Long day today, which went fast as I was continually busy... Not because of customers most of it, but still taking care of price changes and adding new products into the system.

Shirl I'm still chuckling about your fish delivery.

Thanks Barbie and Karen for the info. I passed it on and hope it’ll make them feel a little better. The up and down of this virus is so crazy.

Judy, those boy scout leaders got let go by the Boy Scouts. Still not enough punishment for the destruction they caused.

Here is a link to the Mohave Desert vandalism... https://www.desertsun.com/story/life/20 ... 030746001/

Just doing nothing today. Haven't even been outside. I should go water my new plants since it is really windy today. The wind really sucks the moisture out of the potted plants quickly. Need to make some dinner soon and then plan to make some brownies later. I saw a Schwanns truck drive thru here the other day so I asked for a catalog from the driver. I think I will order a couple things and see how it goes. Years ago I ordered some ice cream and it was very good.

I have to get out tomorrow morning and go to the bank to transfer some money from my unemployment debit card, to my checking account so I can finish paying some bills. Then will stop at the store for some milk and a few goodies. :D Oh, I should pick up some more corn and strawberries at the farm stand too.

Barbie you might look into a drip watering system... Jenny uses it in Yuma and her plants survive the summer... not sure if hers are in ground or in pots though... can you put them in the ground?
