Good morning Everybody from rainy CT.
We are still shutdown and will be for awhile longer. I haven’t been out of the yard for 7 weeks, ever since I returned from Florida.
Three yards of mulch is being delivered today along with some herbs I ordered over the phone. No in person shopping for me... Haven’t received my $1200 yet, but than I requested an extension to file my taxes, so I guess one has to happen before the other.
If you ever thought you would like to see an opera from the MET in NYC, now is the time. You can go to Metopera.org and click on the opera being shown that day. It’s totally free and I watch/listen to it on my I-phone, and I can walk around and do stuff at the same time.

Hang in there everybody. We are bound to get through this, but it won’t be easy.

Good Morning Peggy, I did say Rabbits. We had a real gully washer yesterday, high winds and driving rain. Cleaned the balcony and even washed the slider. Lingering rain cleared this morning and has turned into a beautiful sunny day. Watching garden videos has been my tranquilizer during this trying time. I stocked my pantry and freezer but forgot my favorite item ice cream. Had to go to the bank and went to the drive through window of local Dairy Queen. Oh! My! Chocolate nut sundae is one of life’s simple pleasures. Stay safe

I am still here and Ohio still hasn't figured out spring yet. Lark and Audrey have gotten me out on several hikes but the temperatures are fluctuating day by day. Today it is cloudy and in the low 50's. Tomorrow it should be partly sunny and in the mid 70's. Tomorrow I am heading out to kayak down part of the Little Miami River near me. I found a kayaking group! As long as we all practice that physical distancing part I get out on the river. We have to be able to handle our own equipment. I think I can manage that.

Heading back to work (here at home) on Monday for a few weeks. Reading extra books can wait. Before that starts I think I am making another drive up to Columbus to watch puppies in person. Yes, from a distance. They are now 9 weeks old.

The labs are finally opened back up in Ohio and I was able to get my blood levels checked this morning.

Peggy I haven't gone over to read your response but I knew when I posted the question that you don't check in all the time. That is not always I bad thing, either. LOL

Wash you hands, wear your masks, stay out of large groups of unruly demonstrator and avoid sunbathing on the beaches....hope everyone is around to check in again next month!

Hello everyone! It is sunny & warm in Ocala. Yesterday it was windy here, too, but not as strong as the winds were in MD. We have been working on trying to buy an RV site here, but never heard from our bank yesterday, as we've been staying in touch everyday since the beginning of the week. Hope we don't run into any snags.

Shirl, the sundae sounds so nice! And as Peg said, keep washing your hands. Tina just posted with more good ideas!

Good Morning, I got a hair cut! Couldn't stand it a moment longer. Daughter took a pair of clippers and cut it all off! Feels great at about 1/2 inch.
Puzzle of 1,000 pieces is 3/4 finished because daughter is working on it! I, too, drink coffee in the morning, then water all day, so, frequent walking trips to bath room!
Back to the couch to read!

It's a beautiful day in northern California ! 77 degrees and rising. Stormy cat finally decided to eat her chicken without my cutting bite size pieces to feed her. Yay. She is more active each day, almost normal now , after last weeks scare.
I need to get to nearby grocery for a few things I couldn't get at Costco yesterday. Then it's back to the to do list!

Happy May Day travel pals! Today I am creating a list of public gardens to visit in springs. So many! The grass is starting to turn here in Sierra foothills. Too much wind. We are practicing strict SIP; groceries and garbage. I have a new camping mattress, sure would like to use it before summer hits us. Take care!

Afternoon check in there from Northern Michigan. It is a beautiful day here, temperature is it in the low 60s. After two days of rain it is much welcome now. The mushrooms will be popping.

Just came home from taking the dogs for a nice walk since we were not able to go for the past two days I did it and taking a couple of short potty walks. I did some running around in town this morning and spent a little time at Lowe’s looking over landscaping stuff. I want to redo the front of my house a bit and wanted to see what was out in the edging and decide what I want to use. Also took a stop at the grocery store and then to Culvers for lunch. Our cars are our new dining booths now The Eagles here and get her to always have a fish fry on Friday night but with those type of venues being close down they have not been doing it. They decided this week since the restaurants and other places can do delivery, window service and pick ups, That they would try it and see how it goes. I have never had a fish fry from there so I thought I would try it today, since it is open to the public. So I called in my order and will go pick it up in a little while. Do you get the drift that this is my eating out Day

Lyn, sounds like a good hair ut you got there. I wish I could find somebody to do mine. I did take the scissors to it about three weeks ago but it’s growing back out again. Shirl and Peggy, glad to hear you’re both doing OK. Peggy, sounds like you’re going to be busy in your yard too. Today was supposed to be the opening day for Beth’s store, hope it went well.

It's a nice, sunny day with the temperatures in the 80's. I took the pruners and went out and cut some of one rose bush back. One bush is by the satellite dish and it starts taking over. There is a brick ledge all the way around the house that the cats use as their walk way and they were having to climb through the rose bush. I would like to get some more mulch but don't want to go to town in the truck.

The governor extended our stay at home order until May 15. I wish they would open the state parks. They are allowing outside seating at restaurants that have a patio but you have to get your order to go. You can just eat it outside. That's no fun.

I made a small meatloaf instead of going to get my fish dinner today. I only made half a recipe so I won't have to eat it all week or freeze part of it.

Yesterday I started putting the shelving unit together that I have had since last year. Of course, one piece is missing. They will send you pieces for free but the shipping is $10. That doesn't sound free to me.

The last time I went to the store they were out of the Blue Bell Ice Cream Cone Crunch so I got a New Orleans Praline Crunch. A few years ago Sonic had a small banana split that was the prefect size. I guess I could order the regular one and bring it home and put it in the freezer and just eat a little at a time.

Hi all,

Bright & sunny here today.
I've gotten the hang of this retirement thing. Love not having schedules or worrying about finishing up work in the evenings or weekends.

I'm going thru all the bins of photos & mementos I brought back from KS last summer. Slow & tedious but came across some old cards the kids made when they were in grade school - some very cute. Creating a bin for each kid to give to them - probably for Christmas.

Olivia comes to visit about once a week - just for a change of pace. The baby is 5 months old now, growing like a weed. I'll have 1 or both kids once my DIL resumes work in mid-May. She'll keep the baby with her on days if/when she can work from home.

My laptop is acting up so I've got to replace it sooner rather than later. I've gotten 9 years out of it, so I guess its time.

That's about it. Need to resume sorting pictures.

The store opened on schedule today. And groceries were delivered, but came a few hours later than expected, so we got a good portion up, but some are waiting for tomorrow. Shortly before I left we got a liquor order. I put a couple cases away, but most is waiting until I return tomorrow. Ty was disappointed when I left for work without him. But he certainly wouldn't have been happy there being confined for all those hours. He's just spoiled.

I totally forgot rabbits in the wee hour I got up today. Oh well.

Checking in. I am becoming food focused because I am getting really tired of my own cooking and the same old thing. I am going out tomorrow to get a desperately needed new computer mouse, so going to pick up some Einstein Bagels and maybe some takeout for lunch and dinner. Submarine for lunch and Appleby's or maybe Panera Bread chicken-apple salad for dinner??

I do have something in the freezer that was a terrific purchase--a cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory. Expensive, but has 8 slices which i have been rationing out. See I told you I am food focused from all this staying in. Plus it has not helped to have had family and friends post photos of their takeout meals on Facebook!!! Gained five pounds since I went off my CLL meds, so have to be careful, however.

can't believe that it is another month... haven't heard what Idaho or for that matter Wy's plans are for opening up... still in quarantine for a few more days... will find out then what I can or can't do... in Wy for the senior's it is super strict they can only grocery shop from 7-8 in the morning supposedly no one can go into their house... if they need meds and no one to pick them up the police will... so even though I am a senior I am not sure if legally I will be able to go into my mom's house or not...got word a couple of hours ago that my grandson is now a house owner they got to sign the papers today... so happy for them..
as to food it is so hard to cook for one person I hate it... one of the reason I liked that when we played games we did food on Friday I could fix something fun not just soup although a lot of the time we did soup but homemade soup is so much better then canned soup... or sandwiches... so next week I will be able to fix meals for the family some of the time... the kids are super fussy and have gotten to the point I will fix something that the adults will eat and if the kids want to try it then good if not they know where to find something to eat...
been watching Micheal Symon do 5 oclock dinners during this time think the last one was today.. not sure why the stay in place is still in effect but perhaps he is tired of doing it 7 days a week anyway he did a casserole sorta based on those stuffed sandwiches that you make Judy... perogie's? think I saved that one and the one today looked so good... his main thing was teaching technique. really enjoyed it..
did get my plates ect back in the cupboard and stuff out of the chair and on to the table tomorrow will go through it

I didn't have much motivation today but did finish my gourd project. Otherwise it was really hot again today even tho it was supposed to cool off some so I didn't spend any time outside. The wind has picked up tonight but still too hot to think about opening the windows for fresh air.

I did remember to say rabbits when I woke up this morning! I napped off and on and checked out some funny stuff on the internet so got some good laughs in.

Didn't even turn on the TV tonight. Nothing much on anyways. Last night I watched a bunch of Gunsmoke shows.

The beaches out here are reopening but for walking and running only. No sitting or laying on the sand. All except Orange County beaches. They are grounded and not allowed to be open at all because of what happened last weekend. We'll see what happens tho, since the mayor is talking about opening them anyways against the governors orders.

The one business that seems to be thriving out here (and probably elsewhere) are the animal shelters. They are almost cleaned out of animals. I guess everyone wants some additional companionship now that they are stuck home. I guess there are waiting lists for kittens and puppies too. That is great for the shelters and the animals!
