Another Rainy Day

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Another Rainy Day

Postby Colliemom » Thu Apr 30, 2020 7:11 am

Good MorniNg from soggy Northern Michigan. Another day of rain showers on tap. Okay by me although the fur kids aren’t happy. No long walks. I did take them for a couple of those short ones yesterday in order to get some potty business done. Otherwise they won’t go out

Laying low here today. Sinuses have been acting up since this low pressure came on on Monday. Had a sinus headache last night and although that’s gone this morning, my sinuses are still not quite normal. Plus I’ve haven’t been sleeping good, so I see a nap or two this afternoon. That’s OK it’s time for a lazy day. I did get my closet painted yesterday though. And the people who were buyingthe patio table I had for sale showed up, so that’s gone. So it was a good day yesterday.

JudyJB, take note. I know you have some camping reservations made for Michigan in June. The DNR has announced that state park campgrounds will not open till at least June 21. Any reservations already made between May 15 ( prior to this change, the were closed to May 15th) and June 21, have an option of calling the reservation system and either getting a refund or moving theIr dates to another time. And If they move the dates, theywill receive a free night of camping. Moving of the dates will depend on the availability of campsites on given dates. There will be no modification or cancellation fees assessed whether you move or cancel reservations. If campers do not contact the reservation system, a Full refund will automatically be made back to your method of payment and you will receive an email. Full information can be found on the DNR website.

I have camping reservations made for the end of June through the week of the Fourth of July. They were made back six months ago. I am now beginning to wonder if I want to go or not. The virus is xtill goingvto be there, and the park I know, is booked for the 4th if July weekend. A lot locals from around the area go camp there and on the 4th, their friends and families come out too. It’s not a big party atmosphere per say but just crowded. I also have reservations made for the end of July into the first week of August. One of the days on that trip I am scheduled to take a boat cruise on the Keweenaw waterway in the UP. That is a National Park service boat, so whether or not the Park service decide to cancel it Remains t be seen. So whether it’s worth uncovering and dewinterizing my trailer under the circumstances this summer. I have yet to decide. A lot of park reservations are made six months ahead and it’s possible that some people may cancel them due to them not working right now and the virus situation. And even if they should return to work they may not want to take the time, Formany of them, this was their planned vacation time. so it will be interesting to see what happens.

But right now I had better get into the kitchen and get my daily supplements taken. Piper has already had her antibiotic and she’s off in dreamland right now. I have yet to see Molly this morning. She likes to sleep back in my office and so far has not emerged. She will be around eventually.

So I am going to take a leave herE and wish all of you a nice day. And please stay safe.

Good morning Sue,

Just woke up early like usual but I have a headache so will probably go back to sleep for awhile. It is cloudy out but I didn't hear anything about rain. One more hot day and then it will cool off but only by a few degrees. We are about 25 degrees above normal now. And we had some humidity yesterday on top of it.

Tomorrow is the first so don't forget "Rabbits" late tonight or early tomorrow! Tomorrow is May Day!

Have a good day! :D

It's a sunny, cool day here. Sue glad you mentioned taking something because I forgot my vitamins again. I have been trying to take them regularly so I might be able to give blood again.

Don't know what I'll do today. I have Roomba running. I don't know why I don't have bald cats considering all the hair it picks up.

I need to go dig around in the freezer again. Yesterday I found a stuffed pork chop that was good for lunch and dinner. I thought I had more shrimp but haven't found any. I haven't made a meatloaf in a long time. Maybe there is some ground meat.

Thanks, Sue. I have been rearranging my plans to stay in Ohio longer and head to Michigan closer to the 23rd. I am thinking of staying longer in Ohio and then heading north around the 18th. I can stay in my cousin's driveway north of Cadillac, MI, and in my niece's driveway in Transverse City, so no problems there. Am also thinking of staying in commercial campground in Monroe MI so I can visit my friends.

By the time I get to Mackinaw, state parks will be open.

Very chilly here in TN, and still a few sprinkles, but tomorrow looks better.

The store opens tomorrow. We'll get a large grocery order in tomorrow also, so we'll be busy. I must say, I'm happier with how the store looks now more than any other year.

Sue my sinuses were terrible overnight last night so I woke up a few times with my head pounding and probably took Tylenol more frequently than I normally would. It's been better today so I hope there's not a repeat tonight. I'm not the best morning person, especially if I don't get enough sleep and I have to get up about 5:30 tomorrow. Here's hoping I can get to sleep early tonight and sleep through!

it rained off and on today making for a gloomy day I pulled stuff out of the cupboard and wiped the insides down and then took a nap then instead of getting up and putting it all back I laid there and read finished up the book... it is the second in a series which unless I've not looked in the right year (went through last summer and wrote down the names of the love inspired romance books) so looking back I don't have it doesn't mean I didn't look back far enough or that I over looked or that I simply don't have it... even though its a series it doesn't have a common thread running through it other than it's about sisters... and of course she is mentioned making you want to read her story!! get caught that way all the time.. during that time we had thunder and rain hopefully it's stopped for awhile...
will have to remember that it is the 1st in just a few hours and shout rabbit's I looked at my bank account and had more in it than I was expecting... only to realize that it was the retirement deposit which is the last day of the month so why didn't I expect it?? guess I forgot what the day was... oh well we will hopefully remember after midnight...
did have a visit with my mom I jabbered she listened when I told her that it was her turn to jabber she said nothing going on to mention... she is so alone I feel so bad for her hopefully when the stay in place order is lifted I can go over...
I called to see if Suburban propane was open so I can go get my canisters filled not filling them right now... would think it would be an essential part of business... need to remember what the name of a business in Rexburg is so I can call and see if they are filling them there... guess if I have to can go into to Idaho Falls and fill them at Pilot but that is a lot further... although I need to go and get the rest of the yarn I need
but will have to make plans for that so I can call in the order... for curbside pickup
have a good day

I went back to sleep after posting this morning and woke up at 12:00. I looked at the clock and said "rabbits!". Then I realized it was noon, not midnight!! Ha!

I didn't do anything I should have done, but did work on a new small gourd project. A beach theme with sand and shells. Will finish it tomorrow. I want to do a larger version of it but decided to try it on a little gourd as a practice piece. I think it will turn out pretty good. I used my new table on the deck to work on it. Even tho it was hot, the breeze and shade kept me comfortable. The only issue was bugs! Not sure it they were gnats or mosquitoes but they were annoying. The table worked out great tho. Perfect size and spot for it! Just gotta get the rest of my gourd stuff organized. I accidentally used white paint instead of white glue on one part of my project. Luckily, it was an easy fix. I am having fun with all this tho!

I made corn on the cob tonight and tried microwaving it for the first time. Turned out good and so much easier than boiling it! I need to go buy some more corn now.

My neighbor brought over a container of succulents and two potted plants. Not sure what they are but they have beautiful flowers on them! I hope I don't kill them!

Have a good night and don't forget to say rabbits!
