Sunny Sunday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunny Sunday

Happy Sunday everyone. Beautiful day here. Going to be a great one to be outside. Just finished watching Mass from my church and am going to get ready to head outside pretty soon. Plan for today is to get my lawn tractor up and running. Did routine maintenance on it last fall So just need to lubricate where needed and reinstall the battery. Then can park the snowblower in the corner for the summer after I put some fuel stabilizer in the gas tank and let it run a few minutes. Few sticks and branches to pick up from the winds of last week.

Had a nice day yesterday here too. Hit 60 degrees. Got stuff put back in my truck and washed the backset cover, reinstalled that. Then took the pups over to the State Park for a walk. They enjoyed that. New sniffs to check out and a squirrel to chase, which turned into a dog chase
Between them accompanied by a wrestle session. I keep them on leash but let them go for just that few minutes to work off energy. We did a second walk in the evening yesterday as well. They can’t say they haven’t have lacked for exercise this week. They will be out most of today as well.

Beth, sounds like things are really hopping at the store. Hope everybody’s remembering to social distance. Are other businesses getting ready to open as well? How do they think this summer is going to go there?

So, sitting here isn’t accomplishing anything. Have a great day everyone :)

Good morning Sue. It is a great day here today also. Going to be 74 and the sun is brightly shining. I will be working outside today also. Need to spread more mulch. Add compost to the area along my shed I want to plant the plants I bought the other day. They need to get into the ground so they can start growing. Might even plant the tomato plants I bought. I dont see any freeze temps for the next couple weeks so I will risk it. I can always buy more ha ha Other than that not too much going on here. This should keep me busy for a while.

Good morning all,

We're headed for another hot day out here - in the low 90's. Hopefully it will cool down as the week progresses.

I'm loving retirement! No schedules to keep. No work to catch up on in the evenings. Such a great feeling! I can do whatever I want, whenever I want. :D
Olivia visited on Wed. which gives both her & her parents a bit of a break. The baby even came for about an hour so my DIL could go to the store. We all continue to quarantine ourselves - only going out for necessities. I'll get one or both kids when my DIL resumes work in mid-May.

I have found that 'senior hours' at grocery stores can be busier than just going early on regular days. I tried ordering online & picking it up but I only got about 1/3 of my order so it's easier just to go myself - with my face mask, wipes & practicing physical distancing. Then sanitizing everything as I bring it in. Guess this is our new normal.

Hope you each find something interesting to do today & stay out of trouble
Take care,
Catherine

Catherine, glad to hear you are enjoying retirement! Now you can focus on your grandkids more! :D

Nothing happening here. Another hot day and staying inside. I got a notice that a package from Amazon was delivered this afternoon in my mailbox but there was nothing in there, not even a key for the package mail box. Will have to call USPS tomorrow and find out what is going on with that. It is gourd stuff I have been waiting for.

I just took a short walk around the block since it started to cool off some as the sun was setting. Beautiful sunset tonight! The wind is picking up so maybe I can open the windows tonight.

Need to trim nails, both mine and Lola's. Seems like I just did that a week ago! Hard to keep track of time now days.

Watched my church service on line this morning. The minister said he and his partner both had the virus a few weeks ago. Nothing severe but not mild either. He really has good messages about how to deal with what is going on right now.

Have a good night! :D
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

I took a ride through parts of Custer State Park today. It's one of my happy places and I love that I can drive through and not have contact with anyone. I think it'll be a weekly or biweekly drive this summer. I saw pronghorns and buffalo and the donkeys today. Unfortunately I didn't see any of the baby buffalo this time through. At least not that I know of. A good portion of the herd was back where I could see them, but not close enough to tell if there were babies in sight.

Back to work tomorrow. We accomplished a lot last week but there's still a lot to do. Tomorrow it'll be just me as I have Rich and Maybe the day off so that I can have them work next Saturday. I'll probably be on the computer much of the day

My high school class is having a reunion this coming fall. They already know I can't make it but are asking for opinions about if they should go ahead. I told them my vote doesn't count, but I'd personally postpone it until 2021. Hopefully there'll be a vaccine by then. My class was approximately 1000, and while that many obviously won't attend, I just wouldn't feel comfortable being in close quarters with that doubt of people by this fall unless things really change drastically.

Sweet dreams everyone.
