Saturday, April 25th

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Saturday, April 25th

Postby Colliemom » Sat Apr 25, 2020 8:18 am

Good Morning on this cloudy April Saturday morning. Coffee’s on. Nothing exciting for breakfast but do have eggs, bacon, sausage and ham. Protein shakes too. Have tea for us non coffee drinkers. Starting to work myself back on the no breads, no sweets etc., healthy eating routine again. Been eating to much junk stuff since this Stay at Home started. That’s gotta stop.

Posted yesterday afternoon, that Governor extended Stay at Home till May 15th, but dropped some earlier restrictions as it’s part of a slow, gradual reopening. There will be more Changes coming between now and the 15th. So off to Home Depot for paint this morning. But I will probably work outside today as t’s going to be mild day and might see some sun. Need to put stuff back in my truck that I took out in anticipation of turning it back in. It got a really good cleaning though so that was a benefit.

Otherwise nothing new since yesterday. Did get the closet project started but will finish later as now I can paint. But will wait for rainy day or one morning before I head outside.

Hope you all have a nice weekend.

Mornin' Sue and all that follow~~~
Got back to Illinois on Wednesday. Not doing Camp Dad's Driveway this year for a few reasons. Since he is 90 the less contact the better plus he's still in Florida waiting on weather to settle down a bit.

Not a whole lot new with me obviously. Spending way too much time in the camper. Illinois governor has extended the stay at home until May 30th. Some things will have limited openings, like state parks, but no camping, and face masks will be required state wide wherever social distancing could be a problem, like in grocery stores.

That's it from me. Stay safe ladies.

Good morning gals!

Yesterday I pretty much never left my bedroom. I did get up and dressed but hung out in my room on my bed perusing the internet all day. I learned how to draw birch trees so was working on that. Something I want to do with a gourd eventually.

I need to get up today and get some things done around here. Will see how that goes!

Sheila, congrats on the new grandbaby! I am sure you are anxious to meet him!

Weather here is just hot. 103 yesterday and today, and 104 for tomorrow. And of course, now the wind has stopped. Had my windows open all night but no breeze coming in at all. AC is now back on. I am trying to keep it at around 75* rather than 68* like I had it last year. Unless I am moving around a lot, I don't need it cold in here, just comfortable.

Our county decided to open up public pools but only allowing one person at the pool area at a time. Officials and others are not cool with that for safety reasons, with potential drownings if no one else is around to help if something happens. Haven't heard about our pools yet. Not sure how they would handle that anyways. They would have to have a sign-up sheet and figure out how long each person is allowed to swim, and how the pool area gets disinfected between each person using the pool. The bathrooms at the pools would probably have to be re-opened and cleaned after each person as well. We have 6 pools but I doubt they would open all of them, probably just one main pool. I don't think it would be very fun to hang out in the pool by myself.

A neighbor dropped off a whole bag of oranges the other day from her tree. Not sure what I will do with a dozen oranges. I would juice them if I had something to do that with. Will probably give some of them away.

Need to make a list for today or I won't get anything done again.

OK, I need to at least get up and dressed! Have a good day!

Oh, one thing I did yesterday was I adopted a....cougar!! :o

Well, not literally. Our local zoo is having trouble financially with the shut down so they are offering their animals up for "adoption". So I chose to adopt a cougar. I will get a certificate, a photo and a stuffed animal cougar! Just want to help them out since it is such a great little zoo! They are rated one of the top 10 small zoos in the country!

I did nothing yesterday except go fishing. I caught a couple that most people would have cleaned but I don't want to be cleaning fish at 7:30 at night. One of these days I'm going to get one of those sink/table things they sell at sporting goods stores. I would like one of the old time sinks with the drain board but have never found one. I have friends that frequent thrift/junk stores. I should put them on the hunt.

Barbie, I have one of the old hand juicers. I don't know if they still sell those or not. There is an orange tree across the road that no one picks the oranges. I pick 6 or 8 at at time and juice 1 or 2 every morning for breakfast when they are in season.

Some of my friends want to camp in Abbeville next weekend. There is already a campout scheduled for the 7th. I just hate to ask my neighbors to feed two weekends in a row. The campground we are suppose to go to on the 7th has swimming pools. I don't know if they will be open or not. My sister wants to go if the swimming pools are open. I'm not too interested in paying $45 a day if everything is closed. I'm use to camping at state parks for half price.

I was digging in the freezer and found some crawfish so made étouffée. I had a crawfish pie last night. Need to get my fill of crawfish before the season is over.

I am so bored I'm thinking about taking the dog for a ride in the car. My project for the day is to clean everything off the tread mill so I can turn it over and vacuum the cat hair out from under it. The motor sucks up the cat hair and clogs up if I turn it on before I vacuum. Like I'm going to walk on it any way. lol There are several baskets of stuff on it that got unloaded out of the camper. Don't need it in the camper all the time and now it's in the way.

Yes, Tina, I want a sink for fish cleaning. I don't know if we have a Habitat store anywhere near here.

Barbie, if you have a neighbor willing to give you oranges, get a simple hand juicer. I prefer eating them to drinking the juice, but I used to use a simple juicer for the juice for ice cream.

Martha, I've seen old sinks also, but couldn't tell you where. Good luck.

It's good to have a day off. I went into Rapid City and exchanged my bad battery for a new one for the rv engine. Went to Walmart and picked up my groceries. Stopped at the post office and realized the key is on my store keychain, not with me. Duh. So Ty and I walked... I'm guessing it's about 1 1/2 miles round trip. I'll need to check. So, all you who mailed me checks, thank you very much. They are much appreciated. And it's nice to know everything is covered for a few more years.

Congrats , Sheila!

Cheryl, did you find a decent cg to stay near your Dad's?

Sue, I don't buy junk when I order for pick up. But it's really dangerous when I go in!

my daughter brought me a hamburger and tater tots told me to heat them up in the oven huge order of tots so only put a few on the pan went to get the hamburger and there was onion rings so on the pan they went as well as the patty... it had blue cheese on it first time think last time  I like blue cheese but for some reason and it could have just simply been the brand of cheese but it was so strong not sure if it was due to heating it up or again the brand... finally scrapped most of it off the patty... but so sweet of her she said only another week well actually 9 or 10 days as I started on Monday so would think that it would be a week from this coming Tuesday... but who is counting.. called my dd who had the baby he is very vocal  finally we gave up...
did get something accomplished today perhaps not as much as I should have but did what I did... even walked up and saw the baby goats...two born just before I got here not sure if it was hours or a day but they were here when I arrived. Saw two other female goats that appear very pregnant so probably at least 4 more as they seem to do twins really well
still need to get plants out of the shower but reluctant to do so as the temperature has been cold even down to close to freezing but need to use the shower for say a shower :o
you all have a good day
