Tuesday has arrived

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Tuesday has arrived

Postby SoCalGalcas » Tue Apr 21, 2020 12:37 pm

According to my phone!
Good to hear both Sheila and Beth have arrived at their respective destinations safely!
Catherine’s retired! I thought the day would never arrive.
Someone wrote that Sarah was still in Florida...with the crazy weather, glad to hear that.
I found a new author. I am enjoying her books greatly. Jean Grainger. Lives in Cork, so her stories have an Irish theme. I think of the trip Tina & Liz took while I am reading them.

Good morning Lyn! Good to see you posting! How is your breathing issue? Has your pool been closed? Did you sell your trailer yet?

Sarah has been hunkered down with Nan in FL for awhile. Glad she is not at her house with all those bad storms moving thru there!

Nothing new here. Getting hotter here every day and still very windy. Need to get something done today, but not sure what that will be. Lots of possibilities tho!

Have a good day and stay safe!

Hi ladies!

Lyn & Barbie, it's always good hearing from you both.

There was a tornado that came through this area yesterday morning, very close to where we are staying. Our motorhome was rocking and rolling:

https://www.wesh.com/article/videos-tor ... a/32211699 The campground we are in is off Hwy 484 at mile marker 341 and the tornado hit at mile marker 340.

Barbie, you asked for the link of the campground we're thinking about buying a site in. This is the link:

Sheila, I think it was you asking about the HOA fees. They have what is called a POA (Parkowners Association Fee), which is $ 617.00 a quarter. Considering everything it covers, I think it's reasonable.

Not much going on here except walking the dog and she says it's hot outside. It's 88 and will probably get to 90 before long. We have more bad weather predicted for tomorrow and Florida is included this time. Irmi, you had a close call. There were pictures yesterday of a campground in Alabama that was hit by a tornado. A lot of trees down and some on campers. I don't like to stay in campgrounds with tall pine trees if there is bad weather.

I called the trash pickup again because they had never returned my call about my missing trash can. They said the driver didn't report that he had picked up my can so I had to file a report with the sheriff dept that my can was stolen to get another can. I wish I had security cameras because I would bet that the trash truck picked up the can. If I was more tech savvy I would put up cameras but I'm not going to pay a monthly service.

I need to find something constructive to do but will probably just go fishing. The hummingbirds have found my feeder. There were 5 fighting over it yesterday. That's the most I have seen in a few years. The dummies could all eat at the same time if they would quit fighting.

Irmi, that looks like a great place! Hope you find a lot you love there! Prices sound reasonable too, for what all they offer. Did you ride out that storm in your RV? So scary! :o

Just found out that my nephew from Phoenix who is a nurse, just came back from Detroit where he was sent to a hospital there to help out. We have a lot of nurses in our family now. Both him and his girlfriend, and two of my other nephews wives are nurses, one in CA and one in MN. I hope they all stay safe!

I am now in southern GA, working my way north very slowly. Staying at an open state park for another week and getting a lot done with my class because no driving or shopping or sightseeing or other more interesting things to do. I think I will take a walk today and plan to make a couple of pasties later today for dinner. Yum!

It's been a quiet couple of weeks on the forum, which I suspect is due to most of us living boring lives instead of being able to get out and travel. I am happy that at least I moved as far north as I have so the scenery is at least different. I will have to say that my last RV park, Strawberry Fields for RVers, was a really nice and reasonably priced place. Still needs more grass and things like picnic tables at sites, but it had the absolutely cleanest (and cutest) laundry room i have ever used in a campground!! (Check out my blog for photos.) And the bathrooms were individual and looked much like your home bathroom, with sinks, toilets, and glass shower enclosures and nice flooring all in one bathroom. Cost was only $25 per night for full-hookups on long, paved sites. Not sure what monthly rate was, but for two weeks, I paid only $331, including tax.

Warm today and sunny so got to put awning out.

Irmi, the sites are a little close together, but it looks like it more than makes up for it in that almost none of the sites have anyone behind them! That would give you privacy. And it looks like they have nice big cement pads, which are better than asphalt because they will last longer and not be so hot. And the homeowner fees are very reasonable.

Thanks Judy. The site we're looking at has no one in front or in back of us. It's just about across from the club house. This site also has a site beside it that will never sell. It's just a yard. We're very interested and will see tomorrow what transpires. I'll let you know, but with the huge increase in lot rents in Florida, we feel it's time to do something different. It'll be a drive to our church, but for a once a week obligation, it'll be worth it.

I guess this is my first full day of being in quaruantee. SIL called about 4:15 saying that they had forgotten take the baby goats needed to be taken to the vet to be de-horned and would I mind taking gd to the vet with the goats... hmm I think thought I was in quaruantee but said that I would thinking I would just stay in the truck but they texted back saying that they had changed the appointment ... a do nothing day even with being in quaruantee. Perhaps tomorrow I will do more..but in looking back I think that this is typical to me.. a do nothing day once I get to distination.
Lyn it was good hearing from you..glad you found a new author to persue
Irmi good luck in your decsion. sounds like a good place.. if I ever buy into one the one I am most interested in is a co-op the fee is under 700 plus electricty but you also have to help with various things to keep the park maintained and running
you all have a good day

Sheila your goat story made me laugh. Here you can't go inside the vets office with your animal but I don't know how they handle goats!! Here you call from the parking lot at your appointment time and go over all the details. They come out and get the animal and then call you with diagnosis. You never go in, you pay over the phone with credit card. Your SIL doesn't seem to understand quarantine. You could put your granddaughter and her family at risk if you went with her. Glad you made it home safe.

Irmi the park looks lovely. I hope things work out for you today and it turns out to be an easy decision. Martha, I hope you find your illusive trash can! Judy I think Georgia is wide open now so be extra careful.

I need to quit thinking about projects and just do something!! Procrastination just seems so much easier.
