Monday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Monday

Postby Othersharon » Mon Apr 20, 2020 10:58 am

Good morning! At least I think it’s Monday! Pretty bad when I have to confirm it by looking at my phone! Beth, glad you made it to Keystone and hopefully you and Ty are getting settled in. And congrats to you, Catherine on your retirement. I finally was able to get out and mow the cow pasture yesterday. I was considering goats again, it was so long. It took a lot longer to do but got it done. They’re forecasting a stretch of rain for this area agin with a possibility of snow so I imagine I’ll have a repeat of long thick grass again at some point! Fairly typical for springtime in PA! I’m getting so itchy to get out in Lola and go somewhere! At this point I’m thinking maybe just a drive to the store or something exciting like that! First thing is a trip to the gas station to fill the tank and check the tires. Usually need to add air after she set all winter. I need to get an inspection done too but guess that’ll have to wait until the garage I go to opens up again. I managed to get the car done just before this all blew up but not so lucky with Lola. The state did extend out the March date so imagine they’ll have to do the same for April/May dates. So not much else happening here but hope you all have a good week and stay safe.

Hi O'Sharon! The registration & tags on our motorhome will expire the end of this month, but we never received the renewal. Thank goodness everything is extended.

We're toying with the idea of buying a site for our motorhome and we have an appointment, day after tomorrow, to go see a site. The campground is very prim and proper and the site is huge. What does it take to make up ones mind? Will let you know soon.

Have a good night!

Good luck Irmi on the new site. What do you mean by "prim and proper"?

Finally came in after working in the yard most of the day. Then helped my neighbor get his Dish network hooked up to his wifi, then went for a walk with the dog and a few of my neighbors. Social distancing accomplished. Then our park manager came over to nail up a board for me in the back of my shop. I couldnt find the studs, oh yeah and I didnt have a board yet LOL so he came over with a board, and a drill, and found my studs so got the board up so now I can paint it when the threat of some rain is over. Then I can attach my hooks so I can hang up my shovel, rakes, hoes, etc. Also found a leak in my water system so had to dig a hole down to the irrigation line. Found the leak but will fix it later, I just didnt have it in me today.

Hope you find a good park Irmi. Beth is safely parked and ready for work LOL Sharon I feel your pain, we cant camp here yet either. I really thought I went somewhere when I went and filled mine up with gas ha ha

Well time to search for something to eat then find something on the tv to watch.

Irmi, if you buy a lot in a park do you still have to pay an HOA fee? I don't think I would like to live where someone can tell me what to do with my own property. The county or parish rules are bad enough.

Sugar's flea treatment was due today and I was out so had to go to the vet's. They are still working out of the parking lot.

Karen, good luck finding something to watch on TV. Half the time I have the TV on the weather channel with the sound muted. It's sad, I have 160 channels and nothing to watch.

Irmi, is there a website for that park that you could post a link to?

I own my house and land underneath and slightly around it. I pay an HOA fee of $320 per month which includes water, trash, lawn care and maintenance, cable TV and all amenities including golf, tennis, pickleball, etc. I think that is a great deal! Our rules here I feel are pretty reasonable, and board members are also owners here so I think that makes a difference too. Most everyone here is happy to be here and considering there are 800 sites here, that is pretty remarkable.

I also can never find much to watch on TV. I was just thinking the other night that way back when we only had 4 channels to watch, there was always something funny and/or entertaining to watch. I wish we could pick and choose which channels we wanted and just pay for those. I would love to have the Golf Channel but don't want to pay an extra $30+ per month just for that since I don't have any interest in any other sports channels. I just have a few shows I like to watch depending on the season. Tonight is Botched, which is always interesting.

Very windy again today but feels good with the warmer temps (85*) so I didn't have to turn the AC on. Will be into the low 100's by the weekend. I would like to get some of my gourd art done before it gets too warm. The wood burning and carving need to be outside or in a well ventilated area (porch) but if it is 100+ degrees, that won't be too fun! I can do the painting inside. It will still be cool in the early mornings and late evenings for awhile so that will be a good time to do some of that. Still waiting on some items to be delivered yet. I am just ordering individual things as needed for what I am working on, for now. I don't want to spend a ton of money on 50 colors of paint, etc. So I have to order what I need and wait...

Hope those of you in the southeast are staying safe from the storms. More bad weather moving thru there again.

Irmi I don't know if you remember Jenny (seeyagal) from years ago but they bought a lot in Yuma that they park their motor home on and have built a casita on the lot have a beautiful yard ...they will be staying in Yuma this year instead of going to the PNW. good luck with getting what you want... if I could do it financially I would buy something down in Q park the 5th wheel and winterize it and then get something smaller to travel in during the spring and fall giving me the summer to be a grandma... my last grandchild will be delivered on Friday little guy at that so this will be my 14 grandchild and the 5th grandson... and the only great is a girl the boys are really out numbered.
Am hooked up to a big tank of propane electricity and water. Figure tomorrow I will do the other stuff it's just deciding what to do first inside or out side??? Or both get my mats out and then take out some of the outside stuff that rides inside for the ride... totally got that right??? maybe if I can get to the oven I will make some brownies they sound so good... and take care of all this walmart purchase...
glad to be close to family.... do need to do a guarantee for 12 days... oldest grandson came in which really surprised me said he had to had to hug me so he did then his mom comes out and scolds him but I got a hug... I read an article years ago while I still was working in a assisted care center...about how we are hugged deprived... wonder what it would say now???
need to finish the tank project dumped but didn't get water into the tanks still need to do that

Sheila, you posted on a topic on the general room last night. Are you thinking about that post?

Glad you made it home.
