Blustery Tuesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Blustery Tuesday

Good morning all. Just came in from getting the mail and it still a bit windy out there but not as bad as yesterday. Wi ds were in the 30 mile an hour range and we did have a wind gust of 58 miles an hour at one point. Had a layer of snow last night just enough to cover the ground but it’s already melting. I call it Winter’s last hurrah and Mother Natures stay at home order.

I finished up the last of my spring cleaning this morning so now all the walls windows and woodwork in the house are. Smells so nice in here. Will do the outside of the windows later after the weather warms back up. Sorted out my plastic containers and lids too. Amazng how lids for containers disappear or vice versa. The next project is going to be painting the ceiling and the upper walls of my stairway going to the basement. But that won’t happen until probably tomorrow. Once that is done if I have any paint left over I might paint the inside of a couple of closets.

Beth, have a safe trip going north. I heard it was supposed to be some snow in the mountains. I know you will miss your mountains in Arizona but you are trading in for another set of mountains, those have heads on them though  Sheila, safe travels for you too. Lyn was good to hear from you. Wondering how you are doing. Barbie, watch your bank account as the first of the stimulus checks have been mailed and they say, thry should be deposited in bank accounts by the 15th.

Off to get a bit of lunch here and then eventually off with the dogs for acwalk. Have a nice day everyone.

Sue, you are having the bad winds I have been dealing with out here! Finally they died down over night and it was perfectly still when I woke up this morning. There is a light breeze now which feels good coming thru the windows.

Trying to find all that ambition I had in the middle of the night the other night! Maybe it blew away with the strong winds! :o Combed out some small mats on Lola this morning. She doesn't give herself a bath anymore so her fur starts to matt up so I have to keep up with combing those out before they get too big. Can't find the new claw clipper I got for her. Will have to use mine which doesn't work well on claws. It just splits them. If I just get the sharp tips, it will help for awhile. Gave her a foot bath last night so I could let her into my bedroom for the night. She was so mad after that, that she slept in the living room all night!

I better check out my list of things to do from yesterday and finish up what is on there. Spent so much time at the bank that I didn't have time to get other things done.

I have been munching on all the ham I got from my neighbor. So good! Lola enjoys a little piece of that too.

Sheila and Beth, have safe trips north and keep an eye on the weather!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

It was windy here yesterday, but we had some rain in the afternoon and then heavier rain last night for a total of 2", which they really needed here. They have a lot of grass seed planted, so that was just in time. Anyway, more rain predicted tonight and the rest of the week. It is still in the low 80s so it feels like a steam bath outside. Keeping my AC going as much for the humidity as the heat.

Was up very, very late last night finishing the last of the papers. One of my students is just recovering from the coronavirus, but has pretty much been keeping up with work. She is going to send me her test results when she gets them tomorrow so I can give her an extension on some work since she is still tired.

I sent out a note to all of my students telling them to get some sort of documentation if they get sick and to contact me BEFORE an assignment is due, not two or three weeks later, if they expect to get an extension due to illness. (I will accept late notification only if someone is in a coma!) Last semester, one male student sent me a "doctor's excuse" three weeks after work was due. The note just said the student had been to his office, and when I looked the doctor up, he was running a clinic for a strange variety of things: Skin conditioning, erectile dysfunction and other male problems, depression, medical marijuana, vitamin therapy, fat freezing, colon cleanses, and a lot more!! Obviously, I denied it.

So, got only a couple more projects to complete before i leave here. One is to get up on my front bunk area and see if I can better organize the mess of cords and make sure all are tightened. My bedroom TV is doing a lot of flickering, but I don;t want to have someone come in to fix it until this virus stuff is better.

Hi Beth, Barbie, Judy & everyone!

Beth, have a good trip north and can't wait to hear about your adventures.

Barbie, we had lots of winds here yesterday, too, but nothing like the states just northeast & west of us. I feel so badly for them.

I wrote a post earlier but lost mid-posting, so now I'm copying after every sentence. Not that hard to do.

The tags & registration on the motorhome expire the end of this month, but there is an extension of 90 days in MD. We usually go to the satellite office to avoid the crowds, line and waiting time. The weather people said today was supposed to be a washout but other than a few rumbles of thunder earlier and a little rain, it's been dry since at least 10:00 this morning. We have leftovers from Easter dinner and that will be our dinner today.

Stay safe everyone!

Good afternoon. Been busy puttering in the yard with that darn watering system LOL I am winning tho. Since gas is cheaper right now I decided to take the Motorhome for a little run to fill up as I heard an agreement was made within OPEC so prices will go up again, especially once things open back up. Hasnt been driven for a while so this was good for it. I also ran the generator for a while. Came in had a salad for lunch and now getting ready to head back out for a bit. I remembered to get my hand dolly from storage to help me move those big ole bags of mulch around.

Safe travels Beth, hope you dont have any inclement weather.

Still working from home by computer. They may need us another week but Lark knows it is too chilly outside to make me sad for not being out hiking. The hiking and the kayaking will wait until I see more sun. I did finally drive the rig around yesterday, I had started it a couple of times since January but it really needed a run. It started on the first click and the generator started up on the second try so all is well for now. Driving around empty reminds me that I am moving in the right direction. I don't need the space anymore and would like to downsize my monthly budget. I did appreciate having it parked in the driveway this morning though after the bathroom toilet plumbing decided that it needed a line augured clean. Re-dumping the tanks is a small inconvenience for such a great convenience.

Stay healthy and keep having fun.....Travel safely when you need to and stay at home safely when you can.

Twas a good drive most of the way for the start of this trek north. The last couple hours the wind was picking up and hitting me sideways. Not enough for white knuckles, but I'm really glad that wasn't all day! We got our time change when we left Arizona, so I lost the hour you all lost awhile back.

Stay safe everyone.

been a hectic day and can I say I am still not done? I have a bin that I put mugs into for travel that still needs to be done and plants put where they ride at.. still need to hitch up was going to but the wind was bad enough that I wanted to leave the back braces down... and it wasn't going to work well so will do that in the morning I think when I am out in the sun and the wind it wears a person out... finally took a nap...
go figure the rv mechanic came out and what works but the hot water heater so aggravating  it started not heating on gas last summer so all winter been heating water. Anita knocked on the pipe but she didn't have what was needed to take it off and clean it out... Terry thinks that loosened it enough and the winds have helped.. all I know is I have hot water.. wanted him to put up the vent cover but it was too windy so he will come back out in the morning then I will leave so hopefully will be gone by noon... or earlier ... should be able to get the stuff in side done... tonight
everyone have a great day
