Uh-Oh! Weak Moment at Costco

Postby monik7 » Fri Mar 27, 2020 5:40 pm

I decided to admit to a weak moment at Costco this morning. Carrot Cake!!! Yay!!! But alas, divided into 8 sections (one per week) it was destined for the freezer. I’ve already sampled this week’s piece (see that nibbled section on the left  ) and it’s wonderful. Just what this poor soul needs during the Covid-19 “shelter in place” in California.

See that brown dispenser bottle on the left in the last two pics? That’s my homemade hand sanitizer with lavender essential oil. It came out great. Can’t make more though since I can’t find more rubbing alcohol in the stores.

Not much else to post when you’re supposed to stay home.

You deserve it. I don't know if being in the freezer would keep me on your schedule, though. Well, I could probably keep on track with carrot cake. But a couple others would be my nemesis.

Just saw a preliminary report yesterday of small study, data collection where of 28 CoVid patients on ventilator, 27 were diabetics. Glad I gave up, sugar 3 years ago. Carrot cake was a favorite here.

I have to freeze cake too. I took a bunt cake, cut it in 1/2 inch slices and left it in the plastic container it came in. It was easy to take it out of the freezer and separate one piece. I don't have room in the freezer now.

For some reason I always want a coconut cake for Easter and Sam's has a good one. Maybe I can make room in the freezer by Easter.
