Restless Thursday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Restless Thursday

Postby BarbaraRose » Thu Mar 26, 2020 7:46 am

Good early Thursday!

Woke up at 4:30 and have been awake for an hour now. Got some indigestion and the wind is very loud again tonight so between those two things, I can't get back to sleep. Lola is sleeping peacefully beside me, lucky girl! She has been so sweet lately. I think she likes having me home all the time now.

Am wondering if any of you know what kind of surgery Donna in FL had recently? I saw on FB that she is out of the hospital and home recovering but can't find any info about what she had done.

Hopefully, I can get back to sleep soon!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Good morning Barbie from the east coast all the way to the west coast and all people in between. Hope you will sleep better tonight. The sun is shining and I’ve been working in my yard. Came in for a break and found my 2020 mahjong card had arrived. I learned how to play at FloriLows and want to continue to play here. It’s fun to learn something new. Keep the chin up and wash your hands with good old soap. Enjoy today. Peggy

Peggy, how is your rig recovering? Did you take a big breath and spent the money on the repairs? It will be awhile before the stock market comes up enough for me to pay off the Vegas and get it sold. I still have dreams though......

I was awake at 4:00 also Barbie, seems like that is my new normal. I turned on a meditation on my phone and went back to sleep. Sometime that worksm other times I turn on a book. I can't stay away in the evening and usually fall asleep watching TV around eight. Got to figure out how to stay awake longer! I took a short walk without a dog before noon and it was almost 70 and the sun was out! There are so many who walk past now and both of my little dogs are terrible about barking at other dogs and some people so I just left their barky little butts at home! I have to admit though it felt really weird without a dog along!

It’s been in 60’s here all week with intermittent light showers. I need to start taking walks as several of you have mentioned. Also need to watch less news. Watching it isn’t going to change anything. We have our first telemedicine visit today, with son Chris’s psychiatry office NP. That should be interesting, since it’s a new process to them and us! Hope it works. Chris is concerned we won’t have enough bandwidth for the video. We shall see. I may go to local store to pick up a RX for each of us, as they are ready. It’s the only 2 that can’t be mail order. I will look over the store and buy anything g I see we need. Hoping for dishwasher tablets and just a few other items. One good out of this is Chris has been out of soda for over a week and Is losing weight. Hope he learns from this and continue. We will get through this, but it’s going to be rough and change us forever as a country I think in ways we can only imagine right now. Pray all of you and we stay safe and healthy.

Since Florida water is so bad in many places, I not only use my whole house water filter, but I also use a filter on my water hose when I fill up my tanks so I can drink the water out of my fresh water tank. I take very good care of my hoses and fresh water tanks so periodically dump some chlorine in there and just drink from a separate jug for a couple of days until I use the water for showers and flushing. So, I added some chlorox to my tank last week when my water pump was not working. Was not drinking the water so that was fine. I had several jugs of various kinds on my kitchen counter filled with fresh water that came from the outside hose.

Anyway, pump is working now, and I have taken a shower or two, but somehow I forgot yesterday and apparently made iced tea directly from the water coming out of my kitchen faucet. I heat the water in my teakettle and when it partly cools put it into four adult water bottles and add sugar. Have you ever tasted iced tea made with chlorine water?? Well, I now have to dump all four bottles of tea out and start all over. Added fresh water to my tank and tasted it this time before I put it in the kettle, so it is OK! At least my fresh water tank will be good for a few more months.

I do need to get a replacement for the hose filter, however, and change the one in the whole house filter pretty soon. I buy better than regular filters, as well, for both, so am confident the stuff going in is clean and safe.

Really hot today. Going to be close to 90 next few days before it drops to low 80s and 70s.

Talk about restless. I didn't go to sleep until some time after 3:00 am. Slept off and on and finally got up at 9:00. Having 4 cats in the bed doesn't help and CC wants to lay on me. It wouldn't do any good to shut the door because they would sit outside an scratch.

I cooked some fresh chicken sausage I picked up yesterday. I usually don't buy ice cream but saw a new Blue Bell flavor, Ice Cream Cone. It's a vanilla and chocolate swirl with cone pieces. Like a Nutty Buddy mixed up. If the world is going to end I'm going to eat ice cream. Possie must be able to read my mind. Me getting things out of the freezer usually doesn't faze her but when I got the ice cream out here she comes begging for some.

They said on the noon news that our parish now has one case of the virus. They just started testing yesterday so probably more to come. Guess I'm going to have to try harder to stay home.

Barbie, someone posted that Donna had two things done. One was gallbladder surgery but didn't say what the other was.

Tomorrow is trash pickup so what I should do is go in the old house and find some things to put in the trash. But what I will probably do is go fishing.

Tina, I had no choice but to get the Roadtrek repaired. It never would have made it all the way back to CT. Plus I’m not ready to give it up. It’s twenty years old but it’s my Trek! I don’t want any other. My cancelled trip to NZ and Australia cost me more. American Airlines is begging for the government’s help, but they have no intention of passing any of that money along to me for my unused ticket. Such is life in the slow lane. Peggy

I didn't see about Donna's gall bladder surgery, but I did scroll back and saw she had a staghorn kidney stone removed surgically.

The first 2 cases in this county showed up last evening. I have a dental appt. in Parker Monday, meds to pick up and need to get to the bank. I am one that welcomes this down time, but I have to do something about getting some exercise! All this desert to walk but the rattlesnakes are out.

Peggy, sorry about the airline ticket - glad I didn't purchase mine for Ireland yet. If you charged it, can the credit card/bank do anything about it?

I'm with you Martha I stocked up on ice cream a couple of weeks ago! My dogs are the same way, I can open the freezer door several times a day but just let me touch the ice cream carton and even if they are asleep in the back bedroom, before I get it open they are beside me. I'm sure animals can read our minds!!

I also stocked up on ice cream. What the heck. Since most of my ice cream includes chocolate, Ty gets disappointed often. But he knows I'll always save him some yogurt. I'm supposed to watch dairy to I buy the almond milk yogurt now. I used to make my own ice cream, non-dairy, but hey, these are trying times. My ice cream is real and my weight is going up up up.

Barbie, it's usually calm here mornings and nights but we've been getting afternoon winds. I don't think anything like you, though. But today it seems more.

Barbie I think both of Donna's surgery's were related to the kidney not the gull bladder... but I may have missed that do know though that she had two on the kidney not sure why but it was a kidney stone of some sort...
been trying to get things done but I am such a procrastinator did get dishes done... the table is emptier than it's been in a long time but still needs to be finished...and created two piles out of one is that progress?
heard what I assume is a bird today sure don't know what it is but loud... not really a screech but not a pleasant sound... but the small birds were still about so don't think it was a bird of prey...
a chilly wind today
still going to games it's just 4-5 of us tomorrow doing najaho taco's one of the gals said she had never had them... going to use canned chili not sure how that will work as when I make them here for the gtg I make up a chili from a mix although this last year Chris brought the chili and was really good bet it wasn't from a can
stay safe everyone ..
