Bit O Snow on Wednesday Morning

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Bit O Snow on Wednesday Morning

Morning y’all. Little wet snow, about an inch, coming down this morning. Gonna stay right there, No need to mess with that this time of year as it melts on it’s own. Typical for March. But somewhere along the line, winter is going to have it’s last hurrah. I see a lot of you are reporting rain. We had some on Monday night into yesterday morning. Just light rain.

Michigan has reported it’s first cases of the virus. Both in the Detroit metro area and both tied to international travel. So the state is now under a State of Emergency. There are also two possibilities in the U.P. Too, but are self quarantined and awaiting testing. So it has begun.

Beth, hope you and Ginger have fun while you are together. Maybe you will luck out and can extend your stay. Lyn, nice feeling when the taxes are done isn’t it. I had mine done last month.

Judy and Velda, I know what you mean about having things in place ahead and getting somebody to oversee it. I have no kids nor brothers and sisters, so my resources are very limited. At the moment I have a cousin downstate who is executor of my estate and a best friend as a back up, but both are older than I am though. I’ve made sure to put all important information in one file and my last wishes as well. One thing I did read, contrary to what we have always been told, is to keep your passwords to things and places where you have online accounts, written down, so whomever is handling your affairs, can get in and close them out. I have two cousins by marriage up here who have POA’s for my health care and one has a POA for financial matters in the event I can’t do it myself. But here again, we are all getting older.

Well, need to get going here, have my morning, put heat on my shrinking goose egg from that fall done for now. So off to the shower and run a dust rag around this place. Have a nice day everyone, stsy safe and away from that virus.

Ok, I officially hate people that have finished their taxes. lol I know I can do most of it in one day but it's to start.

I have a knee that is bothering me a lot so dug around and found one of Harold's knee braces. That seemed to help so got another one when I went to Walmart yesterday. I put some Biofreeze on my knee. I don't know if Annie likes or doesn't like the smell but she kept trying to bite my leg. She is such a ding bat. I always have scratches on my arm because she jumps up on the arm of my chair and catches me instead of the chair.

I got my small mower back today and I can actually start it. We'll see how long that lasts. I mowed the dog yard with the wheels high. Now I need to find some WD-40 to spray it to see if I can get the wheels lower.

Our temperature is back up to 80 and so humid I could skate on the car port. It's warm enough for the wood bees to be out again.

My uncle mercifully passed away this morning. My aunt was taken to say goodbye, and I have handled the cremation. She is obviously very distraught, but there isn't anything I can do about it, as I am not very good at dealing with her, and I am not driving back the 160 miles with no place to stay. She saw a grief counselor at Hospice this morning, and the other POA who is in California will have to handle her.

I am very happy to be at St. Lucie Lock and Dam, in one of the three sites that are next to the river. This is one of the hardest COE campgrounds to get into because of the views of the locks and the cruisers and sailboats (aka, RVs on water) wait for the locks or spend a few days in the docking areas.

Judy, I’m so sorry about your uncle, but at least now he is at peace and his suffering over. And you can take comfort in knowing that you did all you could possibly have done. Now it is tine for you. As you said, the other POA in CA will have to deal with her. I know the drill of having hospice and watching a loved one p, in this case my mother, slowly leave this earth. When it’s over, you have both a feeling of freedom, happiness that they are now free as well, but also grief for the loss. Can’t say enough about Hospice.

Judy, I'm so glad you're Uncle finally got into hospice and that he has passed peacefully. You've definitely done all possible. Enjoy your time relaxing after this at one of your favorite rv sites.

Well, we got our storm, and then some!! Still pouring rain and everything is flooded. I went out earlier and got soaked! My back yard is a lake and my bathroom vent is leaking. Luckily it is right over the toilet so it is dripping in there! More storms heading this way! My side of the valley is getting the worse of it since it is all coming from the south. I am sure we have gotten a couple of inches so far.

Just had a loud boom of thunder! I love thunderstorms but the flooding bothers me. My house should be OK but others here already had water up to the skirting.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Looks like you are stuck for a while. Is that a road under all that water? Can you get your car out if you have to go to work?
