Saturday the Seventh

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Saturday the Seventh

Postby asirimarco » Sat Mar 07, 2020 11:39 am

Hello to all. We are on the road again. This time headed home after a wonderful winter in Mazatlan. So far we've made it about 360 miles north. Are now spending some time in a little place called Huatabampito right on the beach. Only problem is we picked some cooler cloudy days to be here. Not sure when we leave. We have to be home in Vegas before the end of th month.
Not a good wifi connection here in the morning so will keep this short. Been reading but not commenting to save data.
Wishing everyone nice weather and safe travels.

Springlike Saturday’

Postby Colliemom » Sat Mar 07, 2020 11:55 am

Good Morning on this beautiful spring Saturday. Temps heading into 40’s today and 50’s tomorrow. Nobody’s complaining. We know will be back for one last hurrah.

And I unfortunately can’t go out and enjoy it. Had a mishap on a parking lot yesterday, in that I got hit by a lady backing out from her parking spot and didn’t see me walking behind her car. Not hard, but enough to throw me off balance and I landed Hard on my left side. Upper leg and lower back aren’t feeling good needless to say. Feels like my lower back is in need of adjustment. Don’t think anything is broken or fractured as not in a lot of pain, but does hurt some. Going to contact chiropractor on Monday and start from there. If she can’t will go from there. So am resting, using heat and ice, taking Acetaminophen and moving around once in awhile so I don’t get stiff. Not in a lot of pain, but it does hurt a bit. Got a walker here too that I’ve had for long time to help along. And I was supposed to go to an RV show with friends today darn. The dogs won’t be happy either as no walk.

Judy, glad the doctor finally got in the hospice bandwagon. And yes there isn’t much you can do except keep in touch from where you are. Sheila, I to thought you had really been in a whirlwind d of activity till you mentioned it was the months old list  But you got er done. Happy your generator is chugging along and once you get the fridge fixed, you should be all set. Cheryl, you and Peggy are really seeing the sights. Did you get to Old Savannah? Lyn, talked with Mitch the other night and all’s well.

Well, I feel a nap coming on, so going to send this out. Hope you all have a nic day and steer clear of the virus :D

Oh, my, Sue! I'm so sorry you were hurt. Perhaps you should see 'a Dr to document and check you over. I like Aleve gelcaps for my rare pain, they are NSAIDS so reduce inflammation and they are more quickly absorbed because its a liquid in a capsule. Plus relief lasts 12 hours. and best of all they are one I can take twice consecutively without stomach distress!
Hope everyone is staying safe from virus. We avoid crowds when we can.
Rain is supposed to be coming, though it's dry so far.
Have a good day all.

Still waiting for the call about my uncle--very disconcerting not to know the future. Anyway, when I get the call, I will call the cremation facility and then head off to Venice, which is a two-hour drive. Will have to visit my aunt, who is very angry with me, apparently, but I will deal with her regardless and chalk it up to her dementia.

Otherwise, I made a big stack of blueberry pancakes this morning and cooked up a pound of sausage. Ate some and froze the rest for some quick meals next week.

Sue, did you get her insurance info, etc. Personally, I'd use it and go get checked out, xrays, etc. Was there a police report, I hope? Sorry if I'm being pushy, but I'm just hoping the best for you.

I'm in the process of defrosting my fridge/freezer the long way, which I've never done before. Everything is going into the fridge in the casita and the rv one can be turned off and slowly defrost. I have time. And emptying the whole thing means it'll get a great cleaning.

Judy, I'm not sure how you're controlling all the emotions and struggles in your life with the problems with your aunt and uncle. What a roller coaster. You're going great. One day at a time!

Wow, Ann. Can't believe you are already heading home. I have a lot of catching up to do on your blog yet.

Sue, I agree with Beth. I hope you got the lady's info. You should get checked over by a doctor just in case there is something you aren't aware of going on.

Judy. You have a lot on your plate right now. Hope things go better for you soon. Is your cousin still helping out?

I am on break right now. Gonna be a long day. We won't get the rain that Lyn is talking about for today and tomorrow. But the next big storm is coming right behind that and we are expected to get heavy rain here by midweek.

I guess there was an earthquake down by Yuma but I didn't feel anything here.

Have a good day.

The other POA is my aunt's niece, while I am my uncle's niece. She is in southern California and handling the finances, and will not be coming out here because of the Corona virus. She has an adult special needs daughter who would need her if she got sick, so she cannot take the chance of being quarantined out of state for weeks. But we do talk daily, and she is a good emotional help.

The hard part is the waiting and not knowing. I am keeping my tanks dumped so I can head out, but every time the phone rings, I panic slightly. It is a two-hour drive at least, and I have no idea where I would park there. Actually, the private caregiver we hired is handling taking my aunt to the hospice to visit, but I will need to arrange the cremation and pay for it. Luckily, my aunt and uncle have enough money that we can afford to pay private caregivers to be our eyes and ears, and also our helpers, when needed.

For example, I have a couple of prescriptions that need to be picked up near here, so am hoping I can do that tomorrow morning. Glad it is cooler here, at least.

Sue, hope you aren't hurt worse than you think.

I didn't make it to the craft show. This morning when I woke up my nose was running. I don't know if it's a cold or sinus. Probably sinus since my teeth hurt. The sun never did come out so it was kind of cool all day.

Goodness Sue, it sure is good you weren't hurt any worse. Hope you mend quickly.

Had a busy day today. The local Garden Club had a speaker at the library about gardening in raised beds, he was really good. I learned quite a bit. Then we went to Cracker Barrel for lunch, it was good too. Came home and did a few chores but nothing heavy duty. We also went to the local Greenhouse and my friend picked up a pallet of plants and some topsoil. I wasnt that inspired yet. There is snow on the hills all around me so not much motivation for planting here.

I have to laugh at how we look at things differently...the day I said I accomplished all that was on my list was truly on that day's list ... and I felt that I had accomplished a lot... now not saying that some that was on that list shouldn't have been done a long time ago... but it was done on the day I actually decided to do so...
My fridge was put in today yea!!! he was suppose to be here at 11 so I got up with the plans of going to the pancake breakfast that the Catholic church does a couple times a month got there at 9:28 and not a soul there door locked up and I thought wow they sure cleared out quickly (it closes at 9:30) was going back to truck when this gentleman appeared found out the bk wasn't till next week!! what a relief other than I will have to repeat today... so went and got my shower then on to the craft fair...think I scored there... stopped by the Watkins booth asked if by chance they were going to get the cole slaw seasoning done again she said she hadn't heard but handed me a recipe for it... so will make it and see if it is as good...Walked through the exhibits and resisted buying anything went and got ice as I knew it would take awhile for the fridge to cool down after it was repaired and went home back by 11 and waited and waited finally texted him to see if I misunderstood and I was suppose to go to walmart and let him know when I was back no he just had a very late night had to bring a motor home from Phoenix didn't get home till 2:30 AM so he got over here much later than planned. I hurried to Parker did the wal mart thing and home. One of the things I got was the cup of noodle soup cheddar flavor... don't bother not much flavor
so now I am doing ok the fridge is working the genny is working have water so knock on wood things looking up for the moment..
I didn't feel the earthquake either I don't think might have thought it was wind that rocked the 5th wheel ... remember Shadow barking about that time...
it is cloudy tonight not sure we will see much of the worm moon :( was looking forward to it...Ann if you stop in Q let me know and we will gtg..
Barbie I think you need to learn how to make a thunder drum... would love one and no I don't think those gourds are worth 38 dollars looks like they were just spray painted...
Sue glad that you weren't hurt badly but agree with the other's just to cover your butt should get it checked out ...years ago when I was working in the hospital (housekeeping) my supervisor came into the room and was helping out when some how one end of the bed came down on her shoulder she went down to ER to cover her butt and ended up in a course of time having to have multiple procedures to correct what we all thought was minor... Judy take care it's so hard seeing family going through this... and so hard for the wife... where she doesn't fully understand... heart goes out to her... take care all

Sheila, so glad you have finally got your issues taken care of! Must be a big relief for you.

Yes, those gourds were just spray painted with silver paint. They look as cheap as they are made. Thunder gourds are actually not too hard to make from what I have seen. Will have to try making one and see how it turns out.

It is extremely windy tonight. Will have to collect some palm fronds in the morning and see if I can incorporate any into my gourd designs. My outside motion sensor light keeps going on from the wind.

Pancake breakfast at the clubhouse in the morning. Am going with a couple down the street. Still haven't found my golf cart key but haven't really been looking too hard either lately. Will go thru pockets tomorrow before I do laundry. I have a list a mile long of things I need to do in the next 2 days! Yikes! I need Sheila's advice on how to get it all done!

The house is shaking right now from the wind! Hope the palm trees don't come down!!
