Cooler Friday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Cooler Friday

Yesterday's 90s have morphed into today's 70s, which is fine with me. It is also cloudy, but almost no chance of rain. I am glad to be a lot farther south than the storms of yesterday.

My uncle was moved to a hospice facility last night, and they have had to sedate him and give him pain meds because he was picking at things like his catheter and being agitated. They said he was much more comfortable today, but still sleeping all the time. The big problem now is how to handle his wife because she freaks out at any suggestion that he is really sick. I talked briefly to someone there to warn them that she may be able to carry on a conversation, but that she also has dementia, and they should not invite her to spend the night or give her detailed medical information.

Got lots to catch up on today.

I've been getting some chores done today. It seems I save lots up for when I'm here. Then last night I spilled part of my dinner... So a load of laundry became a necessity. Tonight I'll have yummy left over pizza from my lunch out yesterday:

That's a funny name for a restaurant. I forgot about the velvet paintings. They use to sell them on the side of the road. I use to have one but it must have gone with the hurricane.

We had a beautiful, sunny day and it got up to 75. I thought about going to town but had a headache for a while so never got moving. Our meetup last night was fun. Some loved their food but I thought mine was way over priced for what I got. The restaurant's specialty is oysters. I thought mine were over cooked and I like mine well done. We had reservations for 12 and they hadn't set up the table so we had to wait. They weren't all that busy but it kind of seemed like we were bothering them.

There is a craft show tomorrow at the historic house that can be toured in New Iberia. If I can get moving I might go. That is usually fun.

Worked all day. Stopped at a stand close to work to pick up some more fresh picked strawberries. They are huge! And very sweet! Usually the big ones aren't that sweet but these are good. I have the makings at home for strawberry shortcake so will be snacking on that all weekend. :D
Also stopped at Lowes to check out their stock of hibiscus plants. Everywhere I look, all they have is red ones. Even at Lowes, it was almost all red ones. There were two yellow and one orange plant but those were large and expensive, so I got two small red ones for now. Will make sure I don't kill them before I spend money on larger plants.

Here are a couple pics of the gourds I mentioned yesterday. Would you pay $39/each for these?

I have to work all day again tomorrow but have Sunday and Monday off. Monday we are supposed to have a storm system come in with three days of heavy rains coming here. We need it, so will see if that actually happens. I guess that means I need to get my trim painted on Sunday.

I asked for the afternoon off on Wednesday but now I can't remember why. Must be something going on here that I want to go to but I lost the calendar of activities, so will have to go pick up another one at the clubhouse. I also requested Thursday off and I do know that the hiking club here is going up to Idyllwild that day for a walk in the woods. Will have to see what happens with this storm tho. They may end up with a ton of snow up there and I don't have snowshoes! :o

Tomorrow night we turn our clocks ahead. I will be so happy to have the extra daylight each night! It is barely 6pm right now and almost pitch black out already here.

Have a good evening! :D
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

today was games so my day was basically that... besides moving stuff so there is more room for the removal of the fridge. made chicken salad sandwiches... I put green onions and grapes in them and of course the dressing then on the table had celery nuts and pineapple that they could mix in... one of the gals can't eat nuts and has a hard time with celery...and we had strawberries as well as grapes and pineapple just to eat some where huge strawberries...and very good...
I get confused with day light time...AZ doesn't change but all the sudden we are the same time as CA it totally confuses me and an hour behind the inter mountain states where is most of my family...
Tomorrow will be a busy day we will see what all gets done... it's down to the end of the season :o so the last pancake breakfast the last craft fair and since I've not been to either would like to do both. need to do a trip to Walmart and of course it's when the fridge will be fixed however it's suppose to be very wind so part of me is wondering if he will be able to..
