Gusty Monday!

Just about noon here already. The sun just popped out again. Was cloudy early this morning but no rain. It is still extremely windy and very chilly today.

Getting a few things done around here and then need to make a WM run.

3 candidates have now dropped out of the race so that will make things more interesting tomorrow for Super Tuesday.

I am pooped. I washed the motorhome and car. It's very windy here too so I had to be careful where I stood or I got a shower. Yesterday I mowed most of the yard and part of the barn lot. I finished mowing and put the motorhome up.

I don't have a campout planned until the 19th. If the weather is good this weekend I might go to the lake.

Barbie, it looks like your winds are here. Maybe not as bad but colder weather coming in through tomorrow, too. Then, hopefully, back to warm and sunny.

Martha, I can't keep up with you. Or Sue. Or all the rest who mow and shovel and wash their rigs. I've put those things behind me and don't miss them!

I think I mentioned I planned to get my taxes done a couple days ago. Good intentions don't get there. Still on my list to do.

My friend called me from Joshua Tree National Park and said it was very windy. She wondered what I did driving in high winds--answer was pull off highway and find a place to wait it out! I told her it was like driving a billboard down the highway, so I hope none of you are out trying to drive in it.

Ran a couple of errands and took my rental car back, so all ready to head out to next campground tomorrow. Will be near Lake Okeechoobee, but am going to try to get a tram ride in the morning before I go since it is not a terribly long drive. Also want to stop in the Myakka River State Park gift shop to get my younger grandkids some alligator jerky.

I have washed my motorhome myself, but it is really hard on my upper arms and shoulders. Guaranteed to cause sore muscles for a few days.

Martha you are a better person than I ... truck and 5th wheel needs washing .... not doing it myself hopefully before I leave I can get someone to do it
went to the Territorial Prison in Yuma today... found it interesting and would recommend that if in the area you stop and visit it... My sister in law must be related to my husband he totally enjoyed museums I enjoy them to a point was always ready long before he was..It was a good day we also had winds and some rain but wasn't where the heavy winds hit... it is cold tonight wish the buddy was working but the generator is still working knock on wood...
we didn't go into Mexico did too much walking at the jail my sil has a back that gives her fits.. found out that they had been in San Diego in Jan... come through here and thought not fighting the crowds.. don't blame them but would have been nice to see them then... I too need to do the taxes...

I strongly recommend Blue Beacon Truck wash for RVs. They are all over the place and charge $37.50 for motorhomes over 30' like mine and only $24 for trailers 20-30' long. Here are prices for other RVs: https://bluebeacon.com/our-services/rv-motorcoach/ They might be a little hard to find sometimes because they tend to be behind one of the larger truck gas stations, like Flying J, but just follow the signs and you will find them.

You may have to wait in line up to an hour, but I usually plan on fixing and eating lunch while in line. You line up with the big trucks and just keep moving up until it is your turn. When they guide you in, you get out and go into the office to pay. You can leave pets and other people inside. As you pull in, a bunch of guys with wands and brushes swarm over your vehicle and get it pretty clean. They rinse it, but do not dry it. You might have to do your windows with some cleaner and paper towel when you get to your location, but most of the time I don't bother. They do a very good job of getting bugs and grease spots off, which is very good.

All in all, it is a LOT cheaper than paying someone to do it in an RV campground.

I took my grandkids with me once, by the way, and they loved it!!

There is a Blue Beacon truck wash in Hammond, La at a truck stop. I had never used one but followed Carolyn coming home one time and she uses them. They do a lot better job than I do. We didn't have to wait at all. I think my 26 to 28 foot motorhome was about $28.
