Last Thursday of Feb

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Last Thursday of Feb

Good morning gals!

Yesterday I woke up a little bit down in the dumps so I got nothing done before heading to work and was a little late getting there, which I am never late. Just no energy or motivation.

Today however, I got up early and started my much overdue laundry. I have 4 days off (Friday thru Monday) so decided to take a little trip to get my much overdue beach fix! I will leave early tomorrow and stop at the gourd farm near Fallbrook to pick up a few things there, then head to Vista to visit my former coworkers at the shop there, stop to see my old roommate, and then head to Carlsbad where I have a reservation for a room for the night. Will be close to the beach so I can hang out there and watch the sunset. Saturday will be some perusing the shops there and more beach time before heading back home later in the afternoon.

Sunday and Monday will be painting trim again and organizing the porch so I can set up my gourd art table, etc. Still need to sell my furniture so I can get a smaller couch for the living room, so I may advertise that this weekend.

Have a good day!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Hi Barbie & everyone!

Barbie, have fun on your outing! Can't wait to see your pictures.

It's a little after 7:00 PM on the east coast and getting chilly and it will be down right cold by tomorrow morning. Steve & neighbors in the park went to the RV show in Ocala this afternoon. I decided to stay home as I don't handle the cold temperatures well and enjoyed my quiet time. No one was in the market for anything but today was BOGO so off they went. We're having another cold front here in Ocala and this will last a few more days.

I have the 2nd load of laundry in the washer, dinner is done and those dishes are washed, so after getting the laundry out of the dryer and folded, the rest of the night is mine.

Be safe & warm, wherever you are.

I didn't do much today except run the Roomba and wash a load of clothes. I finally got around to calling Directv about getting new receivers. I have been getting emails for 6 months that some of the receivers will not work after March 3. Someone is suppose to bring new ones on Saturday morning. I wish Directv would get customer service people that speak English as a first language. I had to talk to someone named Joseph that sure sounded like he was from India. He was very hard to understand. I need to go get an HDMI cord to hookup a smart TV. I replaced the TV in one of the bedrooms and I'm not smart enough to hook it up. Maybe who ever is coming Saturday can figure it out. I hope the new receiver works in the motorhome.

I'll be glad when the temperature gets back to 70. I have felt cold all day.

Martha, I felt cold all day yesterday. No fun. And Barbie, we all have those days. I'm glad today is better.

Ok, no more doctor visits for me until fall. Yay! Actually the one I visited today I won't see again for a year. Double yay! Today they asked me if I was on bp meds that aren't listed because my blood pressure is so good. I said, I'm just lucky with good bp and to please not jinx it lol.

Irmi I've been laughing picturing a BOGO with rv sales.

Cold here in Sarasota--Brrrr. I think the high was 60. Rain yesterday made it even more miserable. Anyway, supposed to warm up to a whopping 64 tomorrow and 66 on Saturday. Compared to the mid-80s last week, this is really chilly.

My daughter-in-law was here from California for a conference, and we went out for dinner tonight. I took here to the same place my cousin took me to this past Saturday--Snook Haven in Venice. If you have never been there, it is quite an experience. After leaving all the new subdivisions and shopping centers, you drive down a dirt road and find an collection of old buildings along the Myakka RIver. Within less than a mile, you are back in old Florida when moonshiners used to sell their products and ladies of the night plied their trade. Very good food, reasonably priced. I had barbecue ribs and brought some takeout gator chowder to try for tomorrow. And place is dressed up with a big alligator hanging from the ceiling and a fake one and a couple of murals on various walls. There is live music and a lot of outdoor seating, though no one was sitting outdoors tonight because it was so cold. Beer available, but no hard liquor and it closes at 8 pm weekdays and 9 pm weekends. Place was packed, and we had to wait for a table.

After leaving my cousin's driveway, I was down in WP Franklin for three days, but back here in Myakka for five days, and then headed south and east for a few days on the other side of Lake Okeechobe. Uncle is still in hospital and sleeping a lot while they have him hooked up to IV antibiotics. This is his second hospitalization in February, so doctor is keeping him a few more days to make sure this infection does not come back again.
